I have been coming here for years and love it. Both yoga and pilates classes are good, and instructors are great. I even sent my nine year old daughter to Ariel yoga classes and she loves it. Great place for classes, snd always clean! Thank you Michelle! Classes are wonderful and you are so funny and know when to push us hard. Laura, you are the best with the most amazing yoga flow. Antigravity yoga - Studio 2

Let's be honest, not everyone enjoys working out, but we all want to be fit. Well, I finally found a workout that I enjoy and actually look forward too... antigravity yoga! I started going to Coolhotyoga (CHY) in June of 2014 after I bought a Groupon for 10 classes, and I've been going back ever since. With convenient class times and the use of an app (MindBody Connect), signing up for your next class is a breeze. I've taken many antigravity yoga classes, and only one other class (booty barre), so this review is mainly speaking to the former. During my time at CHY, I've taken the antigravity yoga classes with three different instructors, all of which are well-qualified and friendly. They also give you that extra push one needs when trying something new all while letting you go at your own pace. Antigravity yoga is a great full-body workout that will leave you feeling longer, stronger, more flexible and with a good feeling of sore the next day. Just remember to trust that the hammock will hold you, and you'll be hanging upside down in no time!

This is how they treat their customers. They are honestly the WORST.

I'm a fitness and wellness junkie who loves trying new ways to move my body. I've recently been…read morecurious about pilates and decided to take my first class at Impact Group Fitness in Fort Lee. I stumbled upon the studio on the ClassPass app. They're a one stop shop for HIIT, sculpt, and strength classes. They offer two different formats - low impact (sculpt, barre, pilates, yoga) and high impact (dance, strength, circuits, HIIT). I signed up for the 45 minute Mat Pilates class with Cassidy on a Tuesday night. They're located on a busy street, so you'll have to find metered parking. Upon walking in I was greeted by the warm receptionist. I signed a waiver and she gave me a tour. The studio is pretty small. It's squeaky clean, bright, and minimalistic. There's a "lobby"/waiting area with a merchandise display. They have changing rooms, a bathroom, coat hooks, and free lockers. They only have one group fitness room with a large mirror and barre. All of the equipment for the mat pilates class was already provided to us (mat, ankle weights, magic circle, and dumbbells). I like that the class sizes are small because I prefer a more intimate experience. There were about 12-15 of us. The instructor, Cassidy, started and ended the class right on time. Let me just say this. THIS WORKOUT HUMBLED ME. I consider myself to be a fairly fit individual, but this was a humbling experience. The workout was split into core, back, upper, and lower body with different exercises for each section. It was low impact with HIGH intensity and lots of reps. We focused on form, functional movement, and mind to muscle connection. Pilates has a big emphasis on targeting deep, stabilizing muscles through using precise movements. I was huffing and puffing LOL... I FELT THE BURN!!! My core stability, flexibility, and endurance was PUT TO WORKKKK. Definitely a challenge, but fun at the same time. Cassidy was encouraging and welcoming the entire time. There were women of all different shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. We didn't feel any pressure. She gave us modifications and corrections when needed. My only critique is that she could've paused and demonstrated each exercise before we started. She jumped right in after each set and it was a little hard to see her since I was in the far left corner. I also would've liked a little introduction to the class format before we began (especially for first timers), but that's just me being big on education lol. They have monthly memberships, class packs, and drop in rates. I'll be trying a few more classes through ClassPass and I may consider getting a membership afterwards. Should you try pilates? DUH. And for those who think it "looks or sounds easy".... OH PLEASE!!! Try it out for yourself. I absolutely think it's a workout that will be rewarding and challenging for everyone.

It was definitely challenging but she also gives you modifications and demos each workout before you do it. I felt the support and great energy from the staff here and other members. I'm excited to take more classes! I love how modern the decor is and the clean, bright space is very inviting. Parking isn't an issue and the establishment is located in the heart of Fort Lee.

I've come to two classes here and I've noticed some of the staff are rude and not welcoming…read more As a newbie I took the introduction class for first time Pure Barre students. My instructor was very nice (Jill) but it felt very rushed especially for a new student coming into the a barre studio for the first time. At the end of the class Jill and the desk person tries to pressure you to buy more classes, which is super annoying. I just took my second class today hoping it would be more organized and paced well. I signed up for a 5:30 class and showed up exactly at 5:30. When I walked in the class had just begun, but the front desk woman reprimanded me and said with an attitude that if I was going to be late I should have called ahead and that people my age seem to always be late to everything... BIG turn off. The class was just okay. The pace is rushed, and it feels like the instructor is just trying to get you to do as many combination of movements as possible in 45 minutes. The class was also jam packed, there was not enough room for everyone, they should definitely make a maximum guest policy to avoid this. Won't be coming back. Some of the workers (especially the front desk older woman) acts like they are high and mighty just because they work at a well known fitness club. There are so many BETTER local barre and fitness studios nearby that are personable and friendly!

Absolutely horrible. The front desk workers, especially the older/middle aged woman with red hair is extremely rude. She is very demeaning and makes you regret walking in. The best way to describe this customer service is that they believe they are better than you, unfortunately. The workout itself. I would give it a 7/10. It is a decent workout, if you are new to barre or pilates you will feel the burn. However is it worth the price, no not at all. I could easily find a YouTube video with the same type of instructor and complete the same workout at home. The instructors kind of just move through the motions. There is no "let's go!" energy, there is no hands on or verbal support to fix postures to limit injury, and there really is not much of a personable experience. If you are looking for a GREAT, personable, individualistic barre class this is not where you should go. Literally more than half the class is lost and not sure how to fix their form and it's very unfortunate to see. I highly recommend THRIVE barre in Pelham if you are looking for an awesome high energy motivating class where you will be helped all areas. I was very sad to be let down by pure barre, as it is so close to my house. I will not be returning and I really recommend that you look elsewhere.
