He took care of the whole process with minimal management on our part. Everyone knows how much work it is to remodel a home. I know I dreaded the experience, especially…read moreafter hearing so many nightmare stories about projects gone wrong and conflicts with contractors. But remodeling, I have come to learn, is like marriage - it will take a lot of work, but who you work with will make all the difference. Working on our large remodeling project with Bridgford turned out to be one of the best decisions we have ever made. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect team even if I could have created them out of thin air. Every single person - Chris Bridgford, Alejandro, Stephanie Walker (hands down the best ever!!), Jr, and even the contractors Bridgford carefully vetted and worked with - was absolutely amazing. Their attentiveness, commitment to quality, and incredible patience made the entire process unbelievably smooth and easy to go through. Chris was a true perfectionist in the best way possible; he took pride in getting every detail - big or small - absolutely right and I couldn't have possibly asked for more. Stephanie was an angel sent from heaven - listening, guiding, and empathizing with me through ever step of the process and so warmly and gently walking me through a hundred thousand details. The way she thought through every small detail, it was as if she were imagining living in the home herself and helping me think about all the small but important things that I sure would have missed on my own. Every nook and crevice, from curvature of a door knob to lines and texture of the cabinet and everything in between, reminds me of just how much thought and care she put into this house and our home would not have been nowhere what it is without her help. Unlike some contractors who push their own ideas or leave you to figure things out, Bridgford genuinely listened. They welcomed all my thoughts and hopes without judgment and offered thoughtful guidance whenever I needed it. They were considerate about the costs, too, always finding ways to get what we wanted, but without ever compromising on quality. Our project took a little over two years, and not once did they fall short of my (very high) expectations or make me feel alone in the process. Even when the stress of remodeling got to me, the team's calmness was like an anchor. They never rushed, never got flustered, and somehow helped me become calm and feel under control again, too. I absolutely hate having anyone mess with my stuff, but with Bridgford, I always knew I could trust them - not just to do the job right, but to care about our home, truly and sincerely, as if it were their own. It's now been almost two and a half years since we moved back into our newly remodeled home and we still love it every single day. The craftsmanship, care, and beauty of the space are exactly what we dreamed of and I still marvel at all the work that went into making it what it is now. Remodeling is hard work, no denying it, but if I ever had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate for even a second to work with Bridgford again. Words cannot express how much I appreciate them and the wonderful experience working with them. Thank you so much, Bridgford team!!

We didn't need such an extensive makeover so we were concerned that Chris wouldn't want to take our project. Luckily for us, we didn't have to worry about that--he not only took our project but prioritized us and expedited so that we could move in on time. We thought our house was in pretty good shape overall, but as we started fixing things, we found some funk that had to corrected or updated to code. Chris and his team took it all in stride and didn't mind that we kept adding on things here and there. He would come on site regularly to make sure his team was delivering what he promised and doing quality work. He would also check on the subcontractors' work to make sure we were happy. The best thing about Chris is his vision and good taste. He recommended some things that we hadn't thought of (that either cost the same/not much more) that turned out really great and made a huge difference. We are very happy and looking forward to our next project with him.

It was actually great that I met him first of all five because he seemed very knowledgeable and mentioned a few things that I asked the other four floor contractors about (which the other four didn't bring up until I mentioned it, whereas Dan brought it to my attention). I never even heard back from two of the five contractors. He followed up roughly two or three days after I received his bid, and got back to me by email or phone within 24 hours of any message. I did find phone was better for him than email (maybe because he isn't sitting in front of a computer and it is much easier to see a text message than an email). I asked for a quote to provide the lumber and another for me to provide the lumber. The pricing he provided for the lumber was very responsible, but it worked out that I had a connection to get it for a little less so I bought it myself since they delivered directly to my home. We discussed the day he would start and the time frame in which it would be completed. He showed up at the time each day he said he would, kept me updated on a couple items that were unforeseen. Made an extra trip to pick up materials for a unique detail around my fireplace and at the front door and it all came out great. He worked well with my schedule, was polite, professional, and did great work. A little damage occurred to the bottom of a section of wall during removal of baseboard, and he repaired without me even asking for it. Another interesting note is I moved in to this home with the same hardwood floor already in place upstairs (about 9 years ago it was done) and happened to know the exact product since there was a box left over. Upstairs hardwood feels inferior to the work Dan did downstairs for me. Definitely recommend him. The work he did for me was only about 400 s.f., so probably a smaller job in comparison to a full home, but I am sure he does all types and sizes.
