The waiter we had was 2 weeks new and super friendly. The Service was quick and drinks were good minus the fact that they don't keep their vodka cold huge no no in my eyes. We asked to have a spot reserved at the bar so we could watch the fireworks and come back and of course they put up a little sign for us so our seats were they once we got back. They have a oyster bar until 11 pm that actually closed at 10:30. We got PEI pearl ones and they were really good not one bad one in the batch. We would of got more but they closed it down after our first 12. To get in you would use the street view door, after 11 they put a huge black curtain and you have to come in from the garbage side which I've never seen before, usually they use the side door that leads to the place easy access. When I came out I wasn't sure where I was but eventually figured it out. All and all it was great service the DJ was alright as well the place gets super cramped and you will be standing unless you buy a bottle.

The entrance is in the alley. When I got there, I was greeted into a beautiful dark room with dim lights setting everywhere. There were plenty of tables to chat around with the ladies and I sat at the back where I could see the frontal stage very clearly. The setting was small enough to be close enough from the speaker and the place was quite intimate to feel close to the storyteller. The food was a bit of a hit on some dishes and miss on others. I tried the hummus with pita bread and olive salads which were delicious and the flavors were not overpowering. Next, I tried the chicken called Karaage chicken. It is fried with a brown sauce in it. It was okay... I can't really tell what the brown sauce is... It is a bit sweet. On my side, I ordered the tacos chips with guacamole. I didn't like the chips since it was hurting my teeth but the guacamole was decent in taste. My drink of choice of that night was a Negroni, I didn't like it and they put too much ice and so little liquid for the price I paid. I didn't taste the orange as I like at another place in Montreal that makes a better negroni for half the price on a Friday as part of their special. Location wise, easy access to the metro. Food-wise, some are worth to try but the price is not for the faint of heart on this one. The conference, it was 5 stars. Oh... P.S the lady decided to tip herself 4$ from my overall food bill. I didn't know it could happen unless she was expecting me to be cheap with tipping.

The risotto had a strange flavor profile that was incongruent with the meat and was a bit mushy. The mashed potatoes had a hard chunk of cheese that was impossible to eat. Recently Jeremiah Bullied took over as owner chef and I was excited to go see what this travelling, pickling, kindly master of deliciousness was doing with the old Spanish social club. We went last night to check it out and though the changes being made so far are subtle they are a great indication of new life and exceptional cooking happening in the lovely old room looking out over St Laurent. The classics are all still there, just better: the bread is all homemade and is so freaking good. The goat cheese balls are still changing people's lives, the rapini now comes with kale and preserved lemons and is way better than before, and the chorizo is juicier and tastier than it has been in years. We tried the specials, a pumpkin soup with caramelized onions and toasted seeds and it was unlike anything I've eaten before and I want to eat it every day until May. The other special was Southern-friend quail in lemon gravy on pickled brussels sprouts. Everything about this dish was amazing, except I'm not a quail fan, I think it's stupid, but that's just me. The team here is making tiny changes to the room and the menu and I look forward to going back often to seeing how it all progresses. The fresh coat of white paint feels clean and amazing, and the other little tasteful updates to the decor are smart and good looking. Well worth a revisit, go get it!!

We found a spot on the big covered street patio, which was absolutely buzzing. Nearly every table was occupied, there were several other four-legged patrons relaxing with their humans, and somehow the whole thing still had an easy, laid-back neighborhood feel. Exactly what I needed after a very demanding day of being carried around Montreal. Mum and Dad ordered a couple of drinks. Then they ordered the popcorn with Manchego, chili and lime. Friends. This was not ordinary popcorn. It arrived piled ridiculously high with chili-lime seasoning and what may have been the finest Parmesan-adjacent cheese shavings these eyes have ever witnessed. Editor's note from Mum: It was Manchego. Whatever. There was cheese. I became extremely interested. Mum and Dad kept saying things like, "Oh wow, this is really good," while eating piece after piece directly in front of me. I believe the official hospitality term for this is hostile dining. Still, Henrietta turned out to be exactly the kind of place we love finding while traveling: not somewhere we necessarily planned our entire day around, but somewhere we wandered into, sat down with the dog, ordered a couple of drinks and suddenly realized we were having a really nice afternoon. The covered patio is especially great because you still get all the Montreal street life without feeling like you're sitting directly on the sidewalk. And judging by my fellow canine customers, I wasn't the only one who approved. Dogba's verdict: 4.7 paws out of 5. Drinks for the humans: plentiful Fellow four-legged patrons: several Covered patio: excellent Signature popcorn: apparently phenomenal Quantity of cheese within sniffing distance: alarming Quantity of cheese allocated to Dogba: we need to talk Would return. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. The space is elegant, warm, and romantic, with a beautiful atmosphere that makes you want to linger. It wasn't too busy (likely because it was Sunday), but that only made it feel more intimate. For appetizers, my friends ordered the French onion soup and escargot. The soup was flavorful and served piping hot--it stayed that way for over 20 minutes! The escargot isn't usually my thing, but my friends raved about how buttery and delicious it was. For mains, I had the spaghetti aux fruits de mer. It looked incredible when it arrived, and the flavors matched the presentation--fresh, savory, and satisfying. My friends went with the suprême de volaille and the bavette grillée & frites. Judging by their clean plates, they clearly enjoyed every bite. We ended the night by splitting multiple desserts, which was the perfect finish to a memorable meal. Overall, Henri Brasserie exceeded expectations. Between the beautiful setting, attentive service, and dishes that truly delivered, I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a romantic dinner or a special night out in Montreal.
