Last week, I had the chance to attend March's Supper Club at Z Taco, and what a fun time we had! Every month, they host a dinner with several courses paired with different types of alcohol. This month was their food and tequila pairing! Hosted by a fabulous woman named Neia, who was representing Aldez Tequila, I learned so much from her about the history of tequila, how it's crafted, and so much more. Aldez Tequila is a high quality, certified organic, and handmade tequila product that partnered with Z Taco for the pairing. Neia made the dinner fun and engaging with her bubbly personality and all of her knowledge! Chef Chris did an outstanding job orchestrating 8 different Mexican inspired courses, all infused with tequila, and I was blown away by his creative and innovative gastronomy. You can see that each course was thoroughly crafted and I enjoyed each bite of every flavor. It was great getting to meet him and hear him carefully describe each dish to the guests. A fun time was had by all, as we got to meet new people from the area who also share a love of food and drink. If food pairings are your thing, if you have an appreciation for good food and spirits, and if you want to have a great time, make your reservation for one of their next Supper Clubs! They happen once a month. Or, stop by during their normal business hours and have some delicious tacos and other Mexican food specialties! Nice little place attempting to pull off an artisan (Mexican) culinary experience in a dated strip-mall that's off the beaten path. I think a place like this would benefit the most from a location with more transient foot traffic. The menu is limited but thoughtful. The burrito was dry on the inside but flavorful. The smothered chicken had great potential; The all dark meat offering was a deal-killer and it looked as if there was no white meat on the menu. We haven't ruled out another visit but I'm not rushing back. read more

Finally got here for lunch the other week. One of the owners Dan was there, who happily greeted us with enthusiasm. Walking into the Mexican~Fusion establishment. We notes how cute & vibrant their outside seating was. We were sat by our waitress, Casey, who asked us right away about beverages while handing us menus. The place was decorated so nicely, with Mexican tools & utensils, pretty cabinets, colorful tableware & unusual artifacts. The menu offered everything from guacamole, dips, yuca fries, salads, taco's, Mexican sandwiches & desserts. They offer specials every day and their dinner menu is very extensive. Will have to return at dinner time. We started with the street corn which is Vegan & gluten-free, house chips with queso blanco ~ also vegan. Two of us had Skirt Steak tacoz & the other chorizo tacoz, everything was amazing. Couldn't leave without trying their flan (best one I've had ever) & their chocolate cappuccino mud pie, also very good. Although we drove 45 mins to get there it was well worth the drive, service, atmosphere & food were all the best. We will all return, next time we"ll come with more people too! read more

Cute location and not crowded but I could tell why as soon as I saw the menu. The restaurant is now called Zinna's Too which gives no indication (unless you know the other location), what it has or serves. The menu has Italian on one side and Mexican on the other. This reminds me of Restoration Hardware - were they a Pottery Barn like store or did they want to sell hardware? Either way, we chose Mexican. I got the haddock tacos and I could feel the grease just coat my mouth. No real toppings on it either like one would be used to at a Mexican restaurant. No complementary chips and salsa on the table. My husband got the shrimp tacos and thought they were good. He also got the street corn as an app. He liked it but meh for me. Much better places out there to try. Really disappointed but our server was a very nice young lady. read more

Was an overall a good experience. Few complaints though. Chips and salsa underwhelming. The salsa is more like a pico de gallo. Same for the chips and quac (under seasoned) and the clam with Spanish sausage. All lacking in flavor and over priced for the amount one gets. The main dishes were good though. Had the grilled chicken with the red chili sauce. It's pretty much a Thai chili sauce smothered all over. All the other main dishes that the family ordered were good as well. A bit pricey considering considering location and type of restaurant it is. If the apps come up in flavor and quantity, it'll be a better place. Lastly, chips and salsa should ALWAYS be free. read more

Pros: good food , quick service and byob! (Liquor store is right next door). But limited menu options (starters, tacos and tortas for lunch period). I ordered the veggie tacos and while they were tasty, I wish they added a little more to them like the cabbage in the steak tacos. But either way, I'll definitely be coming back again! read more

Just an fyi they are open on Sundays! The place is very clean and the service was fantastic. We luckily came at a time that had no other guests. We all tried the tacos (shrimp, chorizo, steak, chicken, haddock) and each were wonderful. We went to all the tables and actually were able to personally select the hot sauces we'd like. The trio nachos were wonderful--we got seconds of the queso blano and guac. The chocolate crème brûlée fell a little flat as it was more of a chocolate mousse than a brûlée. The food here was great, fresh light, flavorful and authentic. Had the shrimp tacos with street corn & rice, very flavorful. My friend had the skirt steak taco, equally as delightful! The staff/chef and everyone here was welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Just miles down Rt 33 in Millstone and worth the trip. I plan to go back with a few more friends! This place is fantastic. I noticed that it just opened in 2023, so it may not be well-known yet. Hopefully that changed because it is well worth the trip. The queso with the chips is the best I've had. Great atmosphere and decor as well! The food is absolutely delicious. Expertly-cooked steak and shrimp, portion sizes are hearty! The service was also outstanding. Would absolutely come back here again and recommend it to anyone considering coming here!! read more

Eager to enjoy a new Mexican restaurant within the neighborhood. Service was on point. Unfortunately, was quite disappointed with the entrée. I had the shrimp tacos my friend had the fish tacos. Both were 2 small mini corn tortilla with unseasoned dry coleslaw, mine had 2 to 3 medium shrimp. I had to request some queso fresco cheese, as well as crème fraîche to kind of tie the dish together. The rice was uneventful as well and the Mexican street corn which was canned corn. It wasn't fresh. I also didn't understand a side of sliced raw radishes. They should've been pickled or some type of seasoning. read more

Been wanting to try out this place since it opened. Really enjoyed it! The servers were very friendly and the ambiance was nice. We got chicken and chorizo tacos and they were very good. The dirty rice was definitely our favorite part. Really good! The only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is it's a tad pricey in my opinion for the tacos. I would also love if they gave some complimentary chips and salsa to start. But I would recommend trying it and supporting this local business. I will definitely be ordering for lunch again soon! read more

Not only the best Mexican restaurant, I believe this is my new favorite restaurant over all. It was delicious.

A welcome addition to local dining especially in this plaza which like many is having turnover. Although we ate indoors tonight due to the looming storms, there is a neat outdoor area which will be worth trying out in the future. Indoors it's all new and festive. The music is traditional and often times very catchy. You'll find yourself bopping and swaying a time or two. The Grand Opening was less than 2 weeks ago and according to the staff they've been well received. We chose our usual Taco Tuesday night to give this one a go so we were very hopeful for a fantastic Taco experience. We started with the House Chips & Queso Blanco. A vegetarian dish which we literally inhaled. The Queso was perfect and chips delicious with the right amount of salt. As for the main courses, I chose the Taco Salad as I couldn't pass on the chance to try it out. Of course I overlooked that it contains red onions which disagree with my stomach otherwise I would of eaten this meal as if it was my last. Truly a delicious meal especially for me as I swapped the Cilantro Dressing for their House Chipotle! Winning move for sure. My better half really wanted something like a traditional Taco so she ordered the Cheeseburger Taco. Unfortunately for her it was an actual Cheeseburger on a soft Taco shell with the fixings which was fine, however she had her heart set on a good old ground beef Taco so it fell short for her. We couldn't finish our meals and we rarely get dessert anyway so we didn't get a glance at that menu but I've looked afterwards online and it seems like there's a treat or two I'd like. It is BYOB and it's convenient that there's a liquor store in the plaza. Our waitress was very nice and did a great job all around. She had a few tables and handled everything perfectly. The hostess was welcoming and friendly which is great to start you off when you first walk in. For me it's a nice restaurant with good food and service. The prices are average to high average mostly. The plaza could use some attention which is not a knock at all on ZTaco, but some quality property management would go a long way. I plan on revisiting. read more

Decent food but extremely overpriced for the portion sizes. We spent $80 on 4 taco orders and chips and salsa. Service was extremely slow and our waiter struggled remembering our order. He got confused and put in an order of queso instead of a quesadilla causing us to pay $10 for chips and an additional $2 for salsa. $12 for a handful of store bought chips and salsa is outrageous and the taco entrees could be mistaken for a kids meal. This restaurant has potential but definitely needs to reevaluate. Would not recommend read more

I decided to go out for dinner with my family and so we decided to try this place for the first time. It's very underwhelming food. Not a lot of flavor and overpriced. My mother had gotten the shrimp tacos and on the drive back home from the restaurant she threw up so we know it was the tacos she ate from here. I had the pineapple ribs and they were okay just tasted like regular ribs with pineapple pieces on top. read more
