We decided to stop in on the way home from Six Flags which was about a 30 min drive. We were greeted right away and sat at a table outside on the sidewalk and there was music playing next door. Our waitress Nelly was super friendly and attentive bringing us waters and chips and salsa. We both ordered the birria tacos. They took a little while to come out but were well worth the wait. They were loaded with meat and had great flavor. I was only able to finish 2 and Nelly made sure we had the containers to take the leftovers home. I would definitely come back

It's fabulous to have an authentic local Mexican restaurant in the area. We were sorely missing one. Cinco de Mayo had their grand opening this past weekend. The interior has been updated from the prior restaurant. We did take-out and ordered the Bistec a la Tampiquena. My husband found it simply delicious, not to mention a generous portion. The entree came with beans, rice, cactus, fried cheese and green chili enchiladas. The vegetarian accompaniments were plenty to fill me up. Their vast menu clearly shows cash vs. credit prices. They also offer a few breakfast selections. We look forward to trying more items and dining in next time.

I can't lie this is exactly what this area needed. Some authentic Mexican food, so happy to see it happening. The service was good and servers were very attentive. Chill vibes with some Mexican music. They are very transparent about cash/cc charges which is nice as that's not always the case. The enchilada portion was huge!! Everything was great overall. My partner and I had leftovers. We'll def be back to try more things and I recommended you stop by if you're reading this.

Great authentic food and plenty of great options. Great staff and environment. A little gem to be discovered if you like Mexican food.

Ordered chicken tacos and fish tacos. I'd say fish tacos should have been eaten there and not taken away, which made them soggy. But chicken remained super hot and soft. Food was delicious and I'd highly recommend this place.

The restaurant is small, with walls that are white on top and brown on the bottom, 3 booths lining the left wall and 2 booths on the right, and regular tables seating up to 4 guests. The Mexican flag is hung up on the right wall while Ecuador's flag hangs on the left and cultural items surround them as well. The drinks refrigerator can be seen in the back and the entrance to the adjoining store is found on the back by the left wall, with decorations on strings hanging over the entire restaurant. A soccer game was playing while we were there. We ordered the following: Lengua Forrada; Arroz y frijoles- Hubs thought this was ok. We weren't expecting an uncut tongue. Normally, when we order lengua, it's all diced up and put on tortillas. This time, we got a couple of whole tongues. It was a little weird. LOL. The rice and beans were good. Flautas- corn tortillas filled with chicken or steak and fried topped with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and cheese. I chose steak. I actually liked it because the flautas were nice and crispy. Enchiladas Mexicana Bistec; salsa Verde- corn tortillas rolled and stuffed with choice of shredded chicken or steak, topped with either red or green salsa. Daughter chose the steak with green salsa and said that this was pretty good. She thought it was flavorful and meaty and that it hit the spot. Tres leches - I got it to go. I found mold on top of the tres leches. You wouldn't be able to see it if you didn't open the lid because it was underneath their label. I don't know what made me open the lid but I'm glad I did. I returned it to the server and showed it to her but she never removed it from the bill. I didn't say anything about it but counted it as part of the tip. I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the mold on the tres leches and the server didn't take it off the bill after I returned it to her. I didn't say anything about it because there was a language barrier and I didn't know how to approach her saying it. While service was quick and friendly, I won't be returning here because of the mold and we got billed for it, anyway.

A newly remodeled Hightstown Diner was unveiled last month. I was a little nervous when I heard…read morethey were remodeling. I love the classic old charm of this diner. However, they did a great job updating the tables, benches and counter, as well as opening up the diner to allow for additional seating. It still has all the old school charm, yet in an updated more comfortable setting. The Hightstown diner has been a fixture in downtown Hightstown for over 90 years. It's a diner and the food and service fit that description perfectly. The food is solid and reasonably priced diner fare. Service is friendly and efficient. We frequent this place on occasion for breakfast and brunch. I had the chicken panini and it was very good. I've tried a variety of options from omelets, turkey sandwich, to soups all for a reasonable price.

Everything is cold, sterile, and trying way too hard to be trendy instead of just being a good old fashioned train car diner. The prices are ridiculous for what you get, especially considering it used to be a spot where you could grab a solid, affordable meal. Now it's all style over substance, overpriced plates, smaller portions, and none of the comfort or the charm that made it worth going to in the first place. It's disappointing to see a place that once felt local and authentic turn into just another generic, overpriced "modern vibe" spot. Definitely not what it used to be, and honestly not worth it anymore. Long time customer, now going elsewhere. Woodys in Allentown is much better.
