It's chipotle-esque but with a true Latin Caribbean flavor. The pernil was succulent and flavorful and the pickled onions were the icing on the cake. The attendee was super sweet and helpful with my selections. I didn't get to try everything else but it was definitely worth going back. If you are in the Trenton area and are craving authentic Latin food, don't miss out and treat yourself too. It was $30, but when you consider the cost of a skirt steak at the grocery store these days and that it came with 2 sides of your choice, I think you would agree its value. I had fish with garlic butter sauce. Don't know what kind of fish it was - didn't ask - but it was delicious. It also came with 2 sides and was only $20 as I remember. I enjoyed a Club Columbia beer with my meal and finished with a fantastic Columbia coffee. (I'm usually a cream and sugar kind of guy, but I took the chance to taste it without sugar and then finished without ever adding it. It was that good.) I had their flan for desert and really enjoyed it. A little thicker than Mexican flan with an almost cheesecake like consistency. My wife had a passionfruit desert which really didn't interest me - not a passionfruit fan, but after 1 taste I found myself going back for another and then another. Overall great food and experience. A note that others have pointed out. When I got the bill, the bottom line was like $97 and that usually includes tax and mor recently a credit card surcharge. I was about to add a tip when I notice 20% had already been included in that $97. So, my meal cost was only $75.00. If you choose to eat here, remember this.

The other fact that set this place apart from restaurants offering similar fare, the pups were available in corn or rice based form. After intense scrutiny of the menu I decided on the grandota with fish. I also ordered garnachas and Russian potato salad. The last 2 items are favs of mine but are not that common. With some snow occurring early Saturday afternoon the business only had a few patrons, my meal came out quickly and I was on my way home. My car filled with the enticing smell and I was tempted to look in the bag, but I pressed on. I tried the large clamshell container of potato salad first. Large portion and perfectly cooked pieces of potato, carrot and haricot vert tossed in ample mayo. Not too sweet, no criticism at all on this very good salad. The garnachas looked a little beat up from the ride but easily fixed. Flavor and presentation wise these were very similar to ones I get at just one place in my neighborhood. However the portion size was almost triple, same amount of crispy tortillas, but each was piled high with melt in your mouth ground beef. The large pup was amazing too. This was rice based with cheese diced tomato and probably tilapia. The most unique one I've had. Service was friendly and there was no language barrier. I also love their hummingbird cabbage salad as it is quite tasty. The rice and beans are also delicious. I will continue to come back and update my rating periodically. I plan to also come back here for lunch with a group of coworkers. I will update my retire then. Adding that for service, I would say the appropriate level of customer service is given. I have only done takeout here. In the summer, it is usually pretty warm in here so I wouldn't be able to eat inside. I will give it a try one time when the temp is reasonable.
