The bar pie was sizeable, fresh and had a wonderful snappy crust. The chunked tomato sauce was good, but could have used a little more flavor, cheese was fresh and had just the right amount. The small chunks of sweet sausage were delicious. As for the cheesesteak, well the roll was fresh and the meat was alright, but the quantity of meat was disappointing. I would say it's just about average if that, but the bar pie made up for it. I'd give JoJo's the clear edge on Pete's bar pie, but honestly I liked the ambiance and older feel of the tavern at Pete's. If I lived in this area Pete's would be in the rotation of spots. How was your meal or your overall experience but the problem is most of them are just asking, and they really don't care. They asked you when your mouth is full, and you can't give a full accurate answer. They are just going through the motions. So I think that makes it hard for the restaurant industry. So this leads me to my second reason for updating my review. I was contacted by Upper management of this restaurant and they truly cared about what I had to say they listened we talked and it reminded me how I treat my own business because my policy is my door is always open. I don't care what the problem is. I will do my best to try to fix it and that's exactly what I got from Restaurante Lucca. They went above and beyond to address my concerns And to make myself and my family feel better about our second experience at their restaurant. So with that being said, I recommend if you're in the Bordentown area you give this restaurant a try. they have a new menu and it was excellent. Walking in the hostesses greeted us and asked to take our coats and umbrellas. They were very complimentary of us and also gave me a single stem rose when they heard it was my birthday. Walking to our table we were able to take in the overall beauty and romantic ambiance in every room which was exactly what I hoped for. Our waiter and the staff were very attentive throughout the night and wanted to ensure we wanted for nothing. The food from the complimentary bread, olive, olive oil and prosciutto to the cocktails to the entrees and cannoli for dessert were a 10/10! We had not a single recommendation for improvement. After dinner we popped into the piano lounge for a night cap and to listen to the band. The lounge itself is sooo chic and plush!!! I haven't been to this site since it was Dublin Square which was a long time ago. Some of the layout changed. They no longer have the old bar separated from the dining area. Callie was our server and did a great job. I was there with some friends from SC. We started by ordering the large pretzel which comes out on a pretzel hanger along with some beer cheese for dipping. They also use that hanger for bacon. The pretzel was enough for 4 of us. I ordered the wings and selected Nashville Hot and Hog Sauce as my flavors. They claim they sell by the pound ($15.50) but it ends up being 8 wings. If you want to split flavors, they make it dry and bring the sauce on the side for dipping. Luckily the Nashville Hot is a dry rub. It was very good and not too spicy. The Hog Sauce is a combo of Buffalo and Garlic which was excellent. The wings themselves were plump, juicy and crispy. Five stars. Plenty of parking. Some tables available outside for outdoor seating when it ever gets nice in NJ. Bathrooms were very clean. You may find some little pink pigs around. Not sure if they're complimentary, but my wife took the one that was next to our table. My only complaint is they have too many of their draft beers designated for only 10 oz pours even with low ABV. Overall it was fine but not incredibly memorable. We were seated at the strange 6-top table right inside the front door. Like people almost have to shimmy past you to get inside. The service was okay but not great. On the plus side, when we ordered something it came on the quicker side and also later in the meal the manager came by and checked on us. The sauce was flat. Cheesesteak egg rolls were not good. Soggy (again the fryer oil) and the prevailing flavor was green peppers. (Where I come from a cheesesteak guarantees shaved ribeye, American or Cooper sharp cheese and possibly fried onions but green peppers I would say crosses a line) Mozzarella sticks were mid. Truthfully the extremely long and skinny plates the apps came out on were just annoying. I'm sure the dish and kitchen staff can't stand washing them and plating the food on them either. It was good and properly served in a copper mug with a sprig of fresh mint. There was some live music, a guy singing and playing a guitar which was a nice touch. The beef had that loose packed texture that once made it special, a little craggy, a little juicy. It was, in a word, fine.
