I came here with a supper club group. There were 7 of us. The atmosphere was great. Not really crowded on a weekday. Our food was delicious. I like that the menu is on a tablet and you can choose English if you don't speak Spanish. The waitress was very helpful. And at one point the owner came over to speak to us about our food. There was a little mixup with one dish but she fixed the error. As a perk if you leave a review you get a shot. So one of our companions left a review right then and the whole table got shots! It was great. I would definitely recommend this lovely place. I gave it 4/5 stars ONLY because it's street parking and parking is hard. read more

HORRID customer service I made a delivery order that cost upwards of 80 dollars which was supposed to have three large portion meals with the rice and meat and beans separated. I had ordered these previously and each one of those meals could feed at least two people. What I received instead were three mini styrofoam lunch boxes that could barely feed a child each. when I called to ask what happened, the worker was extremely rude and condescending. To the point of saying the back end cooks set the prices for the food. What? It's not the restaurant management? Why would they function like this? She was clearly lying. They could have had a great, loyal client, but instead their rudeness has kept me off of their restaurant. Never again will I order from them. By the way, food is just ok. The food and service are simply amazing. Take out literally takes 15 mins or less. So we just sat at the bar. The music and vibes were on point. I've been eating here for years. However, this was my first time order Mondongo from here. When we got home, we noticed there was BARELY any tripe in there. In a whole bowl, there were 3 pieces of tripe. They used a lot of filler like carrots, potatoes, celery and etc. that's my only complaint about the food. The chicharrones were flavorful and the bistek was juicy! Food here is pretty good. Two stars for the vibes of the place. Great music and just a cool little spot to be at. Food however was not great for me. The steak that I ordered was so over done, hard and chewy. And everyone that I was with at the table had the same problem. The food didn't come out hot. There are so many options to choose from, but I chose to go with my staples to see if I wanted to adventure through the menu at a future point in time. Turns out, yes...I definitely will be adventuring into this menu because everything that my family and I ordered was perfectly prepared. No one felt disappointed with their meals. It's my birthday weekend, and my family wanted to get dinner after a long day of hanging out. We are a blended Latino family, so naturally, we sought out the closest Latino restaurant still open (we decided to eat pretty late). Luckily, Yelp guided us to Sabor Latino. My little sister is still in college so since she had a test she needed to run home to do, we decided to order our entrees to go and had some empanadas de Pollo (chicken empanadas) while we waited about an hour for our to go order because my sister decided to order the Paella which is cooked fresh when ordered so it takes a while. Tip: Call ahead if you plan on ordering paella. I wish I had taken pictures of the food when I got back home. But in my family, I am the one who runs around gathering all the plates, utensils, and drinks for everyone. By the time I sat down to the dinner table, my family was already halfway done eating their first serving. They were hungry, but the food was also delicious, so they couldn't help themselves. The servings allowed for each of us to have leftovers that we are excited for. Tonight, I tried their grilled chicken, which was perfectly prepared. Next time, I definitely will be trying their churrasco. And I will definitely be ordering more empanadas. These empanadas must have been the best empanadas I have tasted in this country (America) for a long time. I can see myself becoming a regular here because of the food and the friendly service. Good vibe in here. Went after the PR festival held in Trenton. It felt like an after party! Live DJ great energy and great food. This is a good place to go for drinks and light food. The empanadas are good and so was the mofongo. This is the only Dominican place I have seen in this area. The staff is nice and on weekends it turns more so into a lounge on the left side of the establishment. The bartenders are nice and the drinks are not watered down. It seems a lot of locals go there. My friends and i seemed to stick out like a sore thumb even though we are latinas. It seemed they knew we were not from the area. Some people were very dressed down- track suits, workout sweats and sweatshirts. Many people wore jeans. Casual is the way to go. Nonetheless, if you are looking for a good mix of music and drinks. I would've never attempted to go into this spot as a single female because let's face it...it looks shady as hell! Thankfully it was highly recommended by a native Trentonian. At first glance it just looks like a dive bar from the outside, and and you walk in to find it still looks like a crappy dive bar inside too! The menu is a mixture of Latin food, every plate more delicious than the next and all ranging around $8-$12!! Appetizer: Tostones rellenos de camarones (Fried plantain cups filled with shrimp) - these were amazing! Smaller than I anticipated, but the plate brings the perfect portion for an appetizer for 3, although it's listed as an entree. They are tiny little fried cups overflowing with chunks of shrimp in garlic sauce. My mouth is literally watering over the thought of these. Entrees: Chuletas de Puerco (fried pork chops): You get two nice and thick pork chops fried to perfection so that they aren't dried out; sides included: avocado salad, moist white rice and AMAZING Dominican red beans. Plato Grito: This is basically a sampler plate of all the amazingness of the kitchen. You get your choice of meat, I had steak with onions & peppers that I seriously could eat everyday, it's garlic or maybe parsley or crack that they season it was perfection. The sides included: potato salad, a giant sweet plantain, moro (rice with black beans) and fried cheese (yes random...but not really if you know Dominicans). Needless to say we were both extremely happy with our meals, rolled out of there and thanked baby Jesus for our car still being outside in one piece. The area may look sketchy to a lot of folks in Princeton, but I found it to be fairly safe. Interior decor is pretty well done. The location converts into full blown bar at night. So, there is small stage for live music as well. Now, the food. It was excellent. Pollo empanada was flavorful inside, crispy outside. We ordered fish taco and shrimp on rice for main course and they arrived quickly. Our waiter sort of vanished at that point. Back to the point of food; it was excellent. the fish taco is perhaps the best I had in east coast. The shrimp on rice was excellent as well. The real sticky part was the inattentive service. When the food arrived everything looked good. However moments after eating the steak I noticed I wasn't feeling too good. I maybe thought it was the onions bothering me. You would be forgiven if you approached the corner where Sabor Latino Bar & Restaurant is located, and decided not to park, nor go inside. It is a particularly dreary intersection in the depths of Trenton, with a few boarded up houses, and war torn streets. Yet, it you summoned the courage to open the door and walk in, you would thank yourself for bravery being well rewarded. Sabor Latino (Latin Flavor) is a Dominican house with a kitchen familiar with the cuisine of Puerto Rico, Guatemala and Costa Rica. The bar room also serves as the dining area, and the staff is friendly and attractively bilingual. The broad menu offers lunch and dinner with prices below $10 and $16, respectively. A few HDTVs on the walls broadcasting futbol en espanol, and gentlemen at the bar and high tops conducting business. My server recommended the Pernil special, and I accepted her suggestion. A few minutes later I was presented with a large plate of Roasted Pork, White Rice, Salad and a cup of Red Beans. There was also a table rocket filled with a mix of spice and mayo for use on the greens. The Pork was soft, juice and tender with a nice taste of mild BBQ sauce. The skin took the fire well and it was crunchy to chew with a stronger flavor from the basting and flames. The Rice and Beans were solid accompaniments. The Salad was just some Iceberg and Tomato; not bad, but more of a garnish than a side dish. I was checked on several times by my waitperson. She clearly was concerned that I be satisfied with my meal and overall experience, and was pleasant in her relief that I enjoyed my lunch. Sabor Latino is yet another of the strong effort coming from the Central American community in Trenton. F and I went here last night for the Trenton Social Restaurant monthly outing. However, we were 2 weeks early. Realizing our mistake very quickly, and being so warmly welcomed by Giselle, the hostess, we decided to stay for drinks and dinner. It was also happy hour. $15 for 6 beer bucket $5 tropical drinks and sangria. I had a lime mojito and F had passionfruit. Both were yummy. We ordered an appetizer of chicken empanadas 3 for $5 I ordered fried pork and yucca, F had Arroz con cuerdo with tostones and garlic sauce on the side. Everything is fresh and so good. Giselle was attentive enough to ask me if I wanted the fatty skin with my pork (the best part). While we were there I tempted a friend to join us. He loved his mixed empanadas and tostones. As we were hanging out this place did a brisk business on a Wednesday night. Plenty of parking, but next time we would just walk or ride our bikes there . We will be back on April 7th.
