I have so much to say, after coming here for over a year I just stopped going and I am updating my review since the day I posted was the second or third time I had been here. Let me say, for all you who are regulars with this high Maintenance monthly mandatory visit at least twice a month for well kept manicures/gel/acrylic and Pedicures YOU KNOW how expensive it can get. I didn't mind paying her $50 for acrylic gel fills BUT GIRL at least have the decency to PROVIDE good customer service. Plus my pedi was $22 who was always done by Twee(Maria) who is the best one hands down I would still go there for her BUT the Fat Vietnamese lady who usually sits in the first manicure chair is Such a UGLY Character I don't know how she runs a business with that ugly attitude. She Is NOT taking my money ANY MORE! I work hard for my money to go and spend it there to be relaxed NOT stirred up because you want to RUSH through my fill and ruin my nails and you get MAD bc I'm calling you out on fixing two lumps of acrylic on two different fingers and you chose to ignore me and speak Vietnamese to all the staff when I'm in your face and I KNOW you are talking sh** (Which this was the first time I ever really complained about anything after all these months) that's what really upset me and the reason why I'm writing this review. Plleeeaaaaaaaaassseeee, after all these months of paying minimum $150 a month for your services. NOT INCLUDING my Cash Tips of $10-$20 each visit. If you would have listened to my 1st request which I asked very nicely and I even checked with the girl sitting next to me to see if I was tripping and she was agreeing to the two lumps being super obvious. This B**** still proceded to place the gel polish. So I let her finish her work and at the end I told her to redue it completely bc I was unhappy with the out come of three nails total. At this point this Lady is MAD heated like me! But the difference is I'm Paying you, your job is to fix it and do it right and if you would have listened to me instead of talking your Sh** in your language then you would of saved time money and polish. Either way, Beware the place is beautiful the first and second visit might be nice but then if you ain't tipping $10+ per service and paying her. What she feels she wants to charge she will eventually be a B to you to too! If you do choose to come here and have to deal with this B then you should ask how much your services will be before you sit in her chair bc depending on her MOOD and how SHE feels that day that's how much she will charge you! No matter if it's a fill or full set! Don't get ripped off, and get stuck with shit service. P.S. Then she hired a new guy who worked on my nails the last time I was there, he was nice but dam 2 Nails Flipped off of 3 days later WTF!!!?????? I'm over ZNails. Z nails is a great nail shop besides the fact that the one running it is a straight *i*CH. She is the Fatest heavy set Vietnamese lady who will charge you whatever she want Depending on her MOOD. Beware.

Open on Sunday. Make appt otherwise it gets busy. Had a manicure done, Susan was the nail tech. She was friendly fast and efficient. My nails came out smooth and no lumps And it was not thick as other places, she even help recommend another color to match what I wanted. I had a nice hand massage after my nails were done. Lots of color to choose from, place seemed clean and modern. I needed my nails fixed as my previous gel nails started to chip and I only had it for a week. Prices are comparable to other salons. I waited a week and a half to write this review just to make sure my nails were still ok and they are. They prefer cash only but they do take credit cards but they charge .80 for the transaction fee. Definitely a place to come back to but make an appointment.
Love doing my acrylics here, Kandee is very attentive to detail and takes her time while doing my nails, which I love. I tend to stay away from nail shops that make their customers feel rushed, even on busy days I feel like they're very attentive and give great results. One of my favorite nail places in SL.
I've never had a nail lady until now... I first came here in May after getting my nails done in union city. Susan initially helped me with a fill, she did a dope job. Those nails lasted for two months until the nails started to break. (I'm a single mom so I don't have time to go to the nail shop regularly.) After I came back to get a fill, Kathy helped me out. My nail buds are super big, as you can tell in the picture. So normally nail techs grab the largest nail and try to stretch it out. Not Kathy... I kid you not, I sat there and watched her cut one nail tip, then proceed to cut another nail tip in order to create a LARGER NAIL TIP... from then on I was stuck... plus they're very welcoming and have positive vibes. The third time I went to Kathy, my nails grew so much I decided to remove the fake nails and just put a hardener on my actual nails. In the picture below, it's my actual nails with shellac on top... this is probably about a month old? I need to go back soon, but I promise you I'm only going to Kathy from now on... I'm tired of being disappointed by fake ass nail techs. This place is worth the money, If you're looking for something cheap, don't come here. If you're looking for something actually worth the time and money, goto Kathy or Susan.
This lady is SOOOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL. I booked an appointment for a fill at 6 O'Clock . I arrived at 5:50. Washed my hands ( as required). Signed her COVID forms (as required) . Sat down and she damaged my nail with her nail tool( not sure what it's called). I asked her why she did that and she said she had to in order to fill it... I was willing to do it her way and pay the whole fee for a full set (which would be $100) and she said she no longer wanted to do it. Guess what her excuse was.... she said she's been waiting for me and I was her 2nd client of the day. I said.." how have you been waiting for me when my appointment is scheduled for 6PM??" And she repeats herself . So I got up and left - she didn't even bother to fix the damage she made . Complete WAIST OF TIME . DO NOT---- I repeat ---DO NOT COME HERE. Her energy is unprofessional and negative. Don't waist your time or money at this place . If allowed this facility would get ZERO STARS -
This is usually my go to nail salon since it is so close to my house. They always do a great job on my nails when I get a fill or full set. This last visit I decided to get a pedicure and basically what happend was they cut the side of my big toe nail off thinking it was an ingrown, but they were wrong and it was bleeding for about 15 minutes and is now swollen and hurts really bad. I'm not mad because I really like the staff, but they really need to be more careful. I am hoping my toe nail grows back normal without causing an actual ingrown to actually happen now. I don't think I should have been charged for this device since they hurt my toe so bad, but oh well. Not sure if I will ever get a pedicure here again though.
Horrible customer service by the owner. My finger was injured by the male nail tech. The owner was extremely difficult when I asked for a discount for an injury HER staff member inflicted. When I asked for a discount. I don't want to give any stars, but unfortunately I have no choice
Yup another one bites the dust. I won't be back. First of all I had an appointment at 4 that was not honored, I arrived 10min before said time. Looks as if Kathy was just getting started doing acrylic on a ladies nails. Seemed a lil surprised that I said I had an appointment with her at 4, but whatever, check your appointment you'd know who/what's on your schedule for the day. Kathy then moved that lady to the pedicure chairs and then wrapped my nails and then told me to wait. Kathy then grabs another customer, I thought to myself ok this shouldn't be too bad, she's only getting 3 nail repairs. No she got 3 nails fixed and a fill! I watched Kathy service this woman from start to finish while I'm stuck sitting with my nails wrapped in foil. I can't leave. Finally it's my turn, it's about 4:30-4:40.....we go thru the whole manicure process. Time to polish, I ask for French manicure. I specifically came here for French manicure, Kathy has done them in the past and I loved it. Not this time. She rushed thru the paint job, refused to do the "clean-up" , I told her I wasn't happy, she basically shrugged her shoulder and said if I wanted to change the color, she'd have to re-wrap my nails and she was gonna charge me. No, here's what we're going to do, you can finish painting my nails and just charge me for a gel manicure, no extra charge for the French tips, and I'll be on my way. I don't even want the lame ass massage they try to give with the manicures. Kathy said, ok next time you come back don't ask for me. No lady, you missed it. I WON'T BE BACK! $22.85.....85cent charge for using my card IS your tip! Never mind I was just there the week prior and had gotten a pedicure with the co-owner who thought she was too good to do pedicures. Let's not forget the the self-appointed neighborhood watch that monitors the nail shop and the tattoo place next door, felt the need to butt in and tell me that they have two people for nails and two people for pedicures. Ummm MYOB! Go at your own risk!
I came here this afternoon for a spa pedicure. This is my second time coming and I was happy coming back after my first regular pedicure here. I opted for the spa pedicure because my feet were in need of some serious pampering. The guy who did my feet did a great job removing callous and dead cuticles from my feet and toes. He also did a great job of massaging my feet and legs with the menthol scrub. This is one of the newer nail spas in San Leandro. The spa is well lite and very clean. They have quite the selection of nail polish colors and nail designs available to suit your mood. They have massage chairs that you can use while your getting your feet and hands done. I enjoyed the hot towels they use to finish the spa pedicure. The towels smell Downy fresh. The staff is very professional and courteous. They also don't rush you to get another customer into the chair. You can park on the street and there's a two hour parking limit. This place is also accessible by public transit an AC Transit bus goes by here. It is also walkable as it is not too far from bart since it's in downtown San Leandro. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a great pedicure or manicure. I will be coming here again on a regular basis.
After a year, I went back for a pedicure and a new nail set (paid $60) It was a Thursday, 5 days later I had to go back because all the nails were falling off. (They did not believe that they had done that job) they removed the nails ("saying" don't worry about the money) and they put a new set for me. And in the end they made me pay $20. It's been three weeks and nails are falling off again. Good place for a pedicure, just a pedicure..

I was hesitating to post this review because I don't want people blowing up my go to spot! But since I'm feeling generous today here I am. I come here for my pedicures since it's super close to my spot and also they do the BEST job and trust me I've tried many different spots. Some of the reviews here are just from plain haters. I've found that if you're nice, friendly, and respectful the people who work here reciprocate that energy. I've never had any bad experience, and I love that it's a local small business -- love supporting my locals. They are clean and sanitary, keep up with the decor of the place and always make it prettier and they are AMAZING a doing nails. Whether you come in for a pedicure or for a full-set they can handle it and deliver 100%. Such a nice treat! I will continue coming here. Some extra protips *Bring cash *Tip your ladies! read more

YES ITS LONG BUT PLEASE READ ! ! ! I would give this place ZERO stars if I had the opportunity. This was my second time trying this establishment. The first time my service was lacking, the young lady doing my pedicure was polite and took her time. But the owner had an attitude like she has a stick up her ass. Did not smile once. After reading the other reviews I expected her attitude. But putting that aside, my nails came out decent. Not in love but I was happy. Flash forward to my last visit. Lord where do I begin???!!! From the moment i walked in the door I was not greeted or anything, and had to initiate the conversation. I was getting a pedicure and fill on my acrylics. I picked a color and waited to be called as instructed. I was summoned with an attitude by the owner to a pedicure chair. I was not assisted at all in getting into the chair and had to lift the arms and adjust the seat myself once I found the remote. The woman doing my pedicure rushed it (not the relaxing spa experience I hoped for) and kept digging that damn tool into the sides of my toe nail!! OUCH!!!!! Which later grew into an ingrown nail because of how they were cut. After that pailful experience, it was time for my full. The man who did my fill did a good job in applying the acrylic and I loved the shape... however, he twisted my hand and wrist in awkward positions which made my arm and shoulder sore! Now the color and design... I wanted a Matte nude gel with one glitter nail as an accent. Easy right? Nope! I had to pull up various pictures on Pinterest to give him some inspiration as to how I wanted them... literally the only design was one nail being a different color... he requested assistance from the owner who tried to pick colors matching the Pinterest photo. Unfortunately us women know, nude polish can be tricky... I'm black and didn't want an opaque nude because it reads white or ashy on my skin tone... I did not like the color she chose and asked to see the swatch ring to pick another.. "we don't have one!".... wait what??? What nail shop doesn't have nail polish swatches??? How is this so difficult? The guest next to me was getting designs with each finger a different pattern and your telling me I can't change a nude polish?? I was baffled ... so after sitting there frustrated and honestly offended that they were not accommodating I asked if we could add something more to my nails as they were too plain for me. One rhinestone at the center by the cuticle... on three fingers.. easy right? The man doing my nails had the owner take over to add them... geese why did I ask??? At this point I decided I'd just get them redone elsewhere, finish me up so I can leave... I had already been there 4 and a half hours!!!! Now it's time to pay... three other guest had checked out with a credit card before me. No Id required. The chip reader on their machine was broken so they swiped their cards. I give the owner my card to pay, "can I see yo ID??!" Loud for the salon to hear like my card was fake. I handed her my ID and she asked me my address and name. Wtf?! You see my photo next to it! So she inserts the chip, as expected it was not working. Swipe it! Right? Just like the 3 clients before me! Nope! "Do you have another card? Your card declined!"... I felt as if she was trying to embarrass me at this point. I told her to swipe the card as this was my only card with me, she she refused. So then she asks me to go to the ATM... serious? I'm inconvenienced because you refuse to give me the same courtesy you just gave 3 other clients??! Wtf?!! Swipe the damn card! Whatever, just let me leave... I took my card back and told her I'd go to the ATM... I put in navigation on my phone for the closest Wells Fargo and told her I'd be back. She then ask me to leave my phone!!! Wtf?!! You just saw my do the navigation on my phone, how am I supposed to find the bank??!!! I refused! Then she calls some little girl maybe 17-18 from the back and the owner tells me "she'll go with you!" Wtf? Your sending me at n inconvenience to the ATM with a 17yo escort?!! Hell no! I don't know her she doesn't know me! I was beyond insulted... so after going to the ATM (with my experience I should not have paid and went home) I was charged $74 dollars for my effin nails!!! I pulled $80 out the ATM and the owners attitude changed when I showed up with the money..."thank you honey thank you!" Naw bitch give me every penny of my change... i know your not expecting a tip??? if I had the time to start a petition to get them shut down I would... I felt insulted and racially profiled. Overcharged and literally treated like shit... on top of all that my gel was lifting after 12 hours... GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!! I'll be taking my business back to the hood shop (Generation Nails on 98th) when I'm in the area. I might get a staph infection or H1N1 but at least the service is pleasant and the work is consistent. These bitches... smh read more

I kept trying to check in but for some reason Yelp wouldn't let me. I walked in, no appointment after trying at 3 other places. Greeted warmly and within less than 5 minutes I was seated for my manicure. I wasn't sure what color to get and saw a swab I liked- so the person helping me went to find a color that matched. I had a relaxing and stress free time. Only thing I will say is that my pedicure wasn't as nice as the manicure. Very sloppy polish and shaping. She's super nice but I wasn't happy with the pedicure read more

I almost don't want to review Z Nails because I don't want to share my new found secret nail salon but they do an amazing job and deserve to be known. The salon is nice and bright with comfortable massage chairs. More importantly (to me), they carry DND gel which I've found to last the longest and have the best selection of colors. I have MAJOR trust issues when it comes to trying out new nail salons. I've had one too many painful experiences with being cut and nail techs not caring about the quality of the gel they apply on someones nails. I didn't catch the name of the girl who did my pedicure but she really took her time to perfect my toes and gave the best foot massage. Susan and Kathy are also perfectionists when it comes to doing my gel claws. Kathy does Korean gel nails which is something I've never heard of before but she uses a different kind of gel which I may have to try out next time read more

I went in on Saturday 12/12 for a gel mani and a pedi, service and everything was pretty good. Unfortunately, my nails started chipping by Monday 12/14. Today (Wednesday) is the first time I had a chance to go in and tell them. Again, today is Wednesday 4 days after I got a GEL manicure, 4 nails on my right hand have no polish on them because it lifted and peeled completely off, my left hand is no better. I went and showed them today and they were so rude about it. I told them I couldn't stay and get them re-polished today but wanted to show them as soon as possible. They said if not today then nothing. I said I wanted my money back and they refused. After going back and forth and arguing for a bit, we worked it out so I can come back tomorrow after work. After tomorrow I will NEVER be back. Update: I went back on Thursday after work. The lady who yelled at me the previous day (I didn't catch her name) greeted me. She immediately mentioned my yelp review and had me sit down. First, she said I misunderstood her when she said I couldn't come back to get my nails fixed. I told her I understood her very clearly. She started the process of taking the gel polish off. She then said she wanted to watch me delete my review or else she wouldn't fix my nails; this is after my nails are wrapped in foil. I told her I'd consider it once my nails were redone. She started yelling at me saying she wasn't going to fix them unless, I deleted it right then and there. I said no and asked for my money back if she didn't want to fix them. She refused. We went back and forth for a while. She argued the review was bad for business and I couldn't imagine she thought yelling/arguing at a paying customer, in front of other customers was good for business. FINALLY, her partner Cathy told her to stop! Cathy said she'd fix my nails for me. The other lady got up and I sat and waited for Cathy. Cathy was very professional and fixed my nails without incident. I want to note that on my original visit I went in with a girlfriend, we both got gel manicures, both got pedicures and I got my eyebrows waxed. I was overall happy with all the services. My only gripe was all my nails lifted and peeled completely off. I wasn't complaining about how they were done or the customer service. It could have been a very easy fix. However, the one lady decided to go a different route. If you decide to get your nails done here, ask for Cathy. read more

I really enjoyed this place. A friend told me to request Kathy and she did a great job. I have been going to Dutton Nails on Hesperian for years and it's hit or miss. I will definitely be coming back! read more
First time. Salon looks great. Clean floors. Modern style lighting. Friendly but does talk too fast. My pedicurist was Bang. Very nice lady. She was gentle with her hands. Very meticulous when it came to putting the nail polish on. Did not rush even though they were people waiting. $22.00 for a regular pedicure. I recommend this place. Small parking next to the shop. They are next to a Tattoo Shop. If you are not sure where this place is. Use Street View. read more

I came here on Sunday for a gel mani and saw a different gal. She was very sweet and friendly, provided great customer service, and I was satisfied with my gel mani upon leaving. Sadly, as I hate to take away stars from my first review, I noticed within 2 days that my nail started chipping at the tip and the gel seemed to be lifting. I woke up this morning my mani gel was definitely chipping and lifting away. I am extremely disappointed as I really like this nail shop :( but I am not happy with a 4.5 day gel mani. read more

I've been so hesitant on trying a new nail spa other than where I usually go and I think I found my new spot! They're all very friendly and reasonably priced. Susan did an amazing job on my nails, I was in awe! It's been 2 weeks since I've got them done and not one has broke and still in great shape, best place I've been to in a long time! read more

First time coming and my experience was great. Kathy reassured that she knows exactly what's she's doing with 15 years experience in Korean gel nails. I went somewhere else prior to coming here and I must say Kathy is a pro no lumps no bumps all even nails. I'm happy they do need more people for the walkins but overall great quality nail work read more

Where do I even start? I came here on a Monday evening after making an appointment for my cousin and I for a mani pedi and a fill/pedi. When we arrived, all of the nail techs were on the pedicure chairs, chilling and texting. As soon as I let them know we're their 6 o clock, they're visibly upset that their break is over. That's understandable because they probably worked all day. They began with our pedicure and didn't even ask us if we wanted the regular or deluxe pedicure. I wanted the deluxe but after seeing how rude they were I just wanted them to finish so I could go home. What pissed me off is the man that did my nails, he would finish a step and take a break. He was also pulling my arm and twisting my fingers the whole time to make everything easier for him. My fingers can only bend so much. When he was filing my nails I was in so much pain. I let him know many times by pulling my arm back since he obviously didn't understand much English but he didn't care. He was only worried about finishing as fast as he could. He didn't even paint my nails he had another tech do it. My nails were coffin shaped before and he left some square and some coffin. The pedicure lady did my whole pedicure in 25 minutes start to finish and I was charged 62 total. I paid 62 for a fill and a regular pedicure. Their prices are so ridiculous and totally not what their price list says. They really need to work on their customer service and update their pricing as well as ask their customer what they want not whatever they want for you. read more
