They say stick to what you know I had to relearn this lesson the hard way . I came to my regular shop to get my eye brows and toes done they told me an hour . I just got off work and did t feel like waiting so I walked around the corner . I wish I didn't . I came the door was locked during business hours. I knocked and was about to leave but then they came and open the door . It was spacious but empty . Red flag number one. They sat me in the Chair . It was only 2 people . One experienced and one they said was a new person. Well I could tell she didn't seem to know what she was doing at all . Kept needing help from the other lady . Whole time I'm thinking to myself why would you have someone doing my toes and they don't know what to do . I got a deluxe pedicure and she did everything backwards . How you drain the water before scribbling my legs and feet then rising with left over bowl water . Ugh . Toes came out decent but the process was off . My final red flag was my eyebrows . I have very nice full eyebrows . I told her I like my eyebrows full just a clean up . As she's doing it I can feel she's going higher up on my arch ( let alone burned me with the wax ) she shows me the mirror and I wanted to cry . She said " so much better right "? Ummm no she took off hell of my eyebrow hair after I literally said please keep them full . Instead she did what she wanted to what she thought looked better . Now I have to let my eyebrows grow out to start over :( then had the nerve at the end to ask for a tip ? I said can you put my hair back on my face ! Never coming here again . I had been coming here when the guy worked here. He always did a wonderful job. I came in today because I needed an acrylic fill and new gel color. I did not end up Happy. I showed the technician a picture of what I wanted, and she did not achieve what I was asking. I wanted 2 french tips of a neon yellow color and the rest pink. And she just put a pink see through color that shows my fill under. It looks so ugly. Also, the edges of the gel color are so messy it seems she used her feet to do my manicure. I will def not come back as she also charged me $45. Which other times they have charged $35 max $40. Go somewhere else! read more

The regular nail polish section is atrocious. 98% of the polish is old and crusty like seriously the options are few. I had to ask if the polish would even work. I got a pedicure decided to put on my relaxing music and enjoy a good book. The pedicure was half axxed. The owner had an attitude and the technician as well. Why? Beats me. My heels were neglected and that's the most important pet. Lucky for me I keep my feet up. When it was over I tried to sit and allow my polish to dry. A bit of background info is that the shop was completely empty with the exception of a woman have acrylic done to her finger nails. The pedicure chairs were empty. They had a full blown attitude because I wanted to sit and allow my polish to dry. They were rushing me. Kept trying to get me to leave. Finally they came touched my nails and said, "okay dry!" The lies they tell. Imagine my surprise when 30 minutes after I left my polish came off. I will never understand the audacity of a business being patronized feeling so entitled as to disrespecting their patrons. I can't help but think it's a Black thing. Made an appointment for 3 people and they agreed to take us all. However, we did not realize there were only 2 techs and one of us ended up waiting while 2 of us got our nails done. They didn't inform us of this fact beforehand either! For a $10 manicure, you get a really good hand/arm massage. However, the manicure quality lacks professionalism. They finished the entire manicure routine under 10 minutes! The guy who did my nails messed up on one nail and would've completely ignored the fact if I hadn't asked him to fix it. We dried our nails for a good 20 minutes. The guy told me my nails were fine but as soon as I put on my seatbelt, it got messed up! This has never happened at other nail salons I've been to. They seemed to rush through everything since other clients came in towards the end of our visit. They were friendly enough and offered us water, so one extra star for their customer service! Only street parking is available, and that may be hard to find in the area. They do accept credit cards. I advise making appointments and coming with no more than 2 people total. They ruined my nails. They used an electronic nail drill to take off ALL of the gel polish and removed part of my natural nails, leaving them damaged and brittle. I have been waiting for my nails to grow out naturally, but they are so brittle that they keep chipping and splintering. I have to continually cut them back to the breakage. My nails are scarred by the damage caused by the nail drill. They treat customers differently. Another woman and I observed another customer getting her gel nails removed correctly - soak, LIGHT electronic removal to take off the top gel layer and individual acetone wraps on each nail. The woman observing said she wanted the same treatment as the customer with wrapped nails, but we both ended-up with our entire gel polish buffed off by the nail drill. I am new to gel nails and I think they were rushing the two of us with nail drill removal. I realized that they did not correctly remove the gel polish by doing some research after seeing the severe damage to my nails. read more

best pedicure ever! i usually always opt to pay extra for "spa pedicures" at other salons but i got a regular gel pedicure with paraffin wax added and i'm so serious that was the best pedicure i have had in years. linda did a great job cleaning up my cuticles and gave me an amazing massage. i will definitely be back! read more

I decided to try this place when I was in the area while hubby went to get a hair cut around the corner. Big mistake. I should have known when someone came running in pissed off that her gel manicure wads chipping after two days. However, I stayed. I came in for a fill, and the lady kept on refusing to cut off enough acrylic. I repeatedly had to point out spots that needed to be cut because they were lifting. I even had a broken nail that was killing me and I had to beg her to take it off and replace it which she ultimately refused to do, and put a wide fake one on top of old product instead of actually removing it. (More on that kinda stuff later). She was basically just piling powder on top of my nails and filing it down -- not really removing the lifted nails first. I kept telling her to cut more, and she insisted "it's already done. No need." Like I didn't know what i was talking about. Again, I sat there and let her continue her job. I then paid extra for art on 2 nails and after 2 whole hours, I was finally done. $42 and I left. Yes, that included a tip. I always tip because I am a good human. Unfortunately this is not a place that you can go for a safe and effective nail treatment. I went here for a fill and on top of being expensive, I ended up with nail fungus, so I called her and she remember me (of course) and agreed to refund me but in a strange way. She said she would give me her card number which I refused. I offered her the option to cash app me instead, because she claims she doesn't know ho to refund (bullsh**t). After the owner agreed to refund my money, and gave me her personal cell number she then decided to tell me that since it was "three weeks ago, we have a policy and an advocate to protect our rights". Meaning they have a right to do crappy work and give a client nail fungus. She refused to send my $42 refund and basically dared me to report her to the state board and the Yelp community. One down. One of my favorite places to get a pedicure. I've been here on 3 occasions and have always had a wonderful experience. The spa pedicure is super relaxing, includes parafen wax, a salt scrub and light massage. I've taken my fiance twice for a pedicure too. He loved it. The staff here really makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Another time I went in to have a rhinestone glued, from a mani I'd gotten somewhere else, that had fallen off. They did it in no time. And lemme tell you, the rhinestone they glued didn't budge long after the polish had chipped away. Definitely would recommend this spot to anyone. read more

This nail salon was in an okay part of San Leandro. It was a bit cluttered inside and small. However, the manicurist I had was a nice lady and shaped my natural nails super pretty. I really liked that she did not overbuff my nails and it felt as if she cared about the health of my nails. I would not have expected such a nice job from a place like this but I was surprised. The only thing that I didn't like was that the tools did not come out of a sterile bag and I questioned the cleanliness of the salon. I also noticed that at other salons they finish your service with a short massage with lotion but here the manicurist used a drop of cuticle oil and did a shorter than short massage. For the price, I would say it definitely worth it if you don't mind being skimped on. My nails looks fine! read more

Where to start? The equipment used to do nails looked filthy! Doesn't seem as if they sanitize their equipment. The nail tech kept scraping my fingers each time she used the file on my nails. She got the shape I wanted, but they look raised and bulky. Color selection is good. Once she was done and gave me the price, she straight up asked "How much tip you want to give?" Wow! I've been here on three different occasions. The first two times I was getting a nail fixed. The first time it was a guy who did my nails. He was fast and I liked the work he did. He didn't speak to me at all, he just did my nail and that was that. When I broke another nail a few days later, I came in and the lady that fixed it kept asking me if I wanted a pedicure. Even after declining three times she was persistent. It was raining out and I had on ugg boots, so no I didn't want a pedicure. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I came in to get my nails taken off and get a new set. They even charged me $10 to rip my nails off with a nail. I paid $50. Although I asked for them to be long and the lady filed them down really short, they still charged $50 because they were "long" After we finished up, I asked her how much a fill was. She told me $25 Despite my better judgement I ended up making a 9 am appointment to get a fill. I showed up at 8:55, told them I had an appointment (they didn't know what I was talking about) I came and sat down and waited for the nail tech to show up. 20 minutes later she comes strolling in with food in hand. She proceeded to eat her food while I sat there and waited. After telling her that we needed to get started because I have to be at work she got upset and took a few more bites and started talking to her co workers in their native language. The entire time she was doing my nails, they all spoke in their native language. Didn't speak to me at all. I asked how much for the fill and she said $35. $35?? I was told $25. Her reason... the prices changed recently, at the beginning of the year. I told her I was here two weeks ago and she started talking in her native language to her co workers again. I broke two nails within the first week, one was falling off and the polish was chipping after only one week. I've been getting my nails done for over 15 years and I've never experienced this happening so soon. I will never go here again. They were so rude and very unprofessional. I've been trying to find a good nail salon in the east bay but it's so hard. I guess I'll teach myself how to do it. At least it'll be done to my liking. I was drawn here by the $12.00 pedicure sign in the window, also by the sad looking worker who was standing in the window because the shop was empty :-( This was on a weeknight however, but I came back on a weekend, and there was a few customers there. I came with my mom, which ended up being a good plan. For the month of february they offered a "Buy one, get one free" on pedicures, so we totally scored. They have the typical chair spa, with the massage function, and apparently are going green with the chemicals they use. I would have liked more of a selection on the nail polish, but was able to find something I liked. The service was great and relaxing, and well priced. Called and made an apoint with Christine. When I arrived ON TIME, they gave me to someone else which I didn't realize until I sat down AND she was halfway thru my service. (I realized then Christine wasn't even going to ADHERE to her appointment, SMH BAD BUSINESS) 2. The lady who did my nails was new and didn't do them right which Christine came and confirmed before I even did. Funny though is if Christine would had just done my nails to begin with, I wouldn't have had to have my nails RE-DONE by this new lady...making my FILL appt almost 2 hours. 3. Now that I'm looking more at my nails, they are HORRIBLE!!! I called asking for a refund since they fucked up to begin with and they didn't. I'll have to call my bank for a reversal. The price and location of the salon is very convenient. The service was another story: as she removed my previous gel polish, I noticed that she didn't take the time to remove it completely. When she soaked my fingers, she didn't add a cuticle softener, so she just started roughly scraping away at them. She sloppily painted my nails with the gel polish, and as they cured under the uv light, she sat back and began playing a game on her phone IN FRONT OF ME! At least go in the back! LoL and finally, when it was all over, she sprayed my nails with a bottle full of alcohol that splashed all over my face. To sum things up, I'll never return to this salon. read more

Very sloppy paint job after waiting 30 min soaking in the spa, so she could take her appointment that was late!! She obviously was so tired that she couldn't even focus on doing my pedicure properly. I've been going to this place for about 2 years on and off and 30% of the time that I've been there my services have been good. I have a shop that I absolutely love in the city, but since I am a new San Leandro resident it was time to give a local nail shop a shot. I looked through most of the shops listed on my yelp search and saw Dutton Nails had 4 and a half stars. Obviously I thought I should try it out. When I arrived it was mid Sunday afternoon. There were two techs working and both had clients getting mani/pedis. I told them I just wanted a manicure and they said it would be 30 minutes. I patiently waited since my go to shop in the city is closed Sundays and I was in need of some pampering. I had pretty high expectations going in to my service based on all the highly rated reviews. 45 minutes later it was my turn and I was absolutely underwhelmed. Myself and another client had walked in the time I waited, and one of the techs made fun of us with her (I'm assuming) regular client for expecting to get in without an appointment on a Sunday. Strike one. The station I sat at had grit and dust from past filing and acrylic all over it. The tools my tech used on my hands were not clean and even worse she used them on the client before me and then wiped them down in front of me before she put them on my cuticles. I was a little flabbergasted. Is there no regular cleaning here? For all of the waiting I did my tech did my entire manicure in 8 minutes. She sped through my manicure like she was being timed. My end result looked like I had painted my fingers myself. Sloppy and unfinished is how my nails walked out the door. I am a reasonable person. I understand that sometimes it's a busy day and you're trying to maximize your service time. I myself am in the beauty industry and meeting client expectations is very important. I also know and understand all of the effort it takes to make a service great and grow a business. Maybe I just came in on a bad day, but I was seriously disappointed. Came here on a Wednesday afternoon at around 3 pm thinking that it would be empty. I was wrong. There were three people getting pedicures, one woman getting a manicure, and two salon workers. It's good to see that this place is busy with clients, but the poor workers were a bit rushed. They had me soak my feet in warm water as soon as I got there, but I had to wait for about 10-15 minutes before they could start on my pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure did a great job in making my feet nice and soft and free of callouses. She massaged my feet and ankles after cleaning my toenails and wrapped my feet in paraffin wax to make them extra smooth and soft. She also offered me a cold drink, but I had brought my own water. This place is not fancy, but the service is good and the value is great. $20 for a pedicure and $30 for both mani and pedi. They also do waxing here. Just be prepared to wait if they have a lot of clients in there. They seem to be understaffed during the week. It's best to call ahead and see what the wait time is. My toes looked great and the leg massage was so relaxing. The shop was very clean and quiet. Their nail polish selection is wonderful. Lots of fun colors to choose from.
