Been coming here for months to get pedicures only and I am happy say they always do a great job. This shop is simple, no frills, and very affordable. Pictures speak louder than words... please zoom in to see the air pockets, uneven and thick application, ragged edges, and how the polish looks like it's about to peel off (while it was attempting to dry!). It's too bad. It was my first time there. I read the great reviews. The people seem nice. There seemed to be regular customers there. The pedicure itself (cuticles, pumice, shaping) was fine. The place seemed clean enough. It's a heatwave and everyone was working hard. Still- when I'm given excuses like: "it (the polish) can't be smooth" it doesn't work that way, and that nothing is wrong, nothing could be done- come on now. The owner states that they're committed to making sure each customer walks out with beautiful nails- what happened?? We know what went wrong here, the polish was too thick, it was applied unevenly, and the application was rushed (one thick uneven coat on top of another wet thick uneven coat). The pedicurist kept asking if I wanted additional coats of polish to fix it. I told her I wanted her to do what it would take for it to look smooth and professional. We know what the fix was- The fix was to try to smooth it out or to take it all off an start over. Instead of doing that, they chose to have an unhappy patron. I didn't have the will or energy to argue, and they seemed pretty condescending and dismissive. Too bad- i'm a great customer, and was planning to give a nice tip because it was so hot. I was hoping to find a regular spot, but the search continues. Glad I have polish remover and cute polish at home! Update- once I got home I realized that my feet and heels were rough- they weren't smoothed with a fine pumice or emery. Pedi-egg to the rescue. Downgrading to 1 star. read more

Came here for the first time today and I'm so glad i did! I decided after a year of not getting my nails done it was time! Decided to look around on Yelp for a local shop that had good reviews, stumbled upon Vy's one night and sent a message. I got a response instantly! I was scheduled for 2 days later! I sent a picture over of what i wanted and was price accordingly. My experience was great and made me feel at ease. My temperature was taken upon entrance and i was asked to sanitize my hands as soon as i walked over to the station i was directed to. My nails came out so BOMB! Love coming to this family business. Mimi always responds quickly whenever I need an appointment. I came on their second day of reopening from the pandemic shut down & Michael did a great job, as always! They're so friendly & it was so nice of them to rmbr me! As of right now, they only open during the weekends, outdoors. It was nice that it wasn't crowded w many customers, since it's by appointment only. Stations were 6 feet apart. Disinfectant sprays & hand sanitizer were available. They had clear acrylic borders in between you & the nail technician. & the prices were still w/in the average nail pricing! Under New ownership: I came here 2 weeks ago didn't know it was under new ownership, just thought they hired new employees. But cameback today and found out new owners , the atmosphere feels so relaxing, its clean and prices are up front on the wall so you know what your paying. Pros: They wore gloves and had the foot soak plastic cover for each person and were friendly. Cons: I don't think the tools were sanitized between use of each person, they only used toe separators for two out of the three people I was with, I wasn't asked to wash my hands after filing my fingernails so there was nail residue on my hands when I left, colored nail polish was an added charge, and there was no place to sit and dry my nails once painted. Most places I've been I see the tools being sanitized in the blue water between customers or a fresh single use tool pack unpackaged, but I saw them use the same tools on my one friend and the other, which left me feeling uneasy and worried about potential fungus. I was confused as to why the third member of my party didn't get toe separators. I've been getting my nails done since I was a child and every time I was asked to wash my hands after the filing to get the particles off and I wasn't this time and it was weird. Like there was just particles on my hands when I left and I felt gross. I wish I knew on the front end that getting colored nail polish was an added charge since this is the first time I've encountered that (it is usually included in the mani/pedi price). And finally, I'm used to being sat in a seating area with fans/lights for my nails to dry and that wasn't even an option here. Which left my partner (whose first time it was getting a manicure) to ruin his nails very quickly after getting them done. I won't be returning to this place especially since the pandemic has left everyone wanting more health/hygienic protection, not less. And this place has had the least amount I've ever seen. Edit: Next day, went from two stars to one as I have an infection in my big toe now. read more

I took a picture of their prices and saw that the pedicure is $20 and polish change is $7.00. Moving forward, I asked that my split nail on my toe be fix. She never said it would cost, not is there a price for it on their board. There also is no price on their board to take off gel and re-polish. So when I was done I asked her how much I owed, this little b..ch said well ummm, ummm, I think $40.00, You think $40, so you don't know your own pricing. I told her I think you are cheating me because you don't know your pricing and you are just making up shit. (the lady at the next table agreed, I just they have given her and her friend many different prices too. If you are going to charge for items, know the price and have it listed on your board as well. Honest to god, it was such a good decision hop on in to Vy's Nails. They took good care of me, and I enjoyed the extra step they took in giving my leg an exfoliating scrub followed by a 5+ minute massage. Definitely worth every dollar.... and it is still 50% less costly than going to a salon in San Francisco! Mimi was really nice and made sure I feel comfortable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Also, they have the traditional pedicure chairs that include automated back massages and water jets where you place your feet! I have been a long time customer of Vy nails. It's really hard to write this review, because I have had a good connection with Karen. But the last couple of visits I had with Karen for eye brows was very unprofessional. She talks on the phone to her friend on speaker phone next to your ear or she lays her phone you like you are a table. Then when she hits you with to get your attention to look in the mirror. When it's time to pay she just holds her hand out then walks away when you don't have the money out immediately. She gets upset when you don't pay with cash. Often time she is very heavy handed when Turing your head or whipping your face. But today was the last day I will step foot in that nail shop. This nail shop does not follow any sanitary procedures. I didn't realize it until she was almost finishing waxing. Before Karen took me in, she was working on someone else's feet (cutting the skin). I went to go lay down and I thought Karen washed her hands and changed her glove. As Karen was waxing,my skin felt wet then. And it was coming from the glove she was wearing. This place was recommended by a friend for eyebrows. I went there for the first time and was greeted by Karen, the owner and who did my brows. She did an alright job but was really nice and invited me to come back to get my nails and pedicure done. I already have a go to nail lady who goes above and beyond with quality service and top notch customer service. She was busy and I was dying to get full sets removed. Since my last reviews, it's all about customer service! Came here today and asked for manicure gel, they did a terrible job! I have been getting manicures on my natural nails for the very longest and am quite aware what services comes with the job. First and foremost, lady went right into removing my sets and shortly after, she dove into cutting my cuticles without letting my cuticles sit in a lil warm bowl to soften them. I asked her, "you aren't soaking my hands in the bowl?" She replied, "oh you want that?" I said, "yes please, i would like the full service" she spoke in her language to have one of her workers get a warm bowl of water. She barely put any cuticle softener on my cuticles and dove in into cutting them. Did a really bad job as she was done in 10 mins!!! Painted my nails and did not do a great job at it. After my nails were painted she had her worker put some cuticle oil on my fingers, and she was like "done" didn't even massage my hands, then I said "you aren't going to massage my hands" she said "no" then Karen goes "you want that?" I said "yes, I do" lady who was giving me a hand massage was mad af that she had to do it and she was making eye contact with other workers while laughing and talking in their language. This made me feel uncomfortable, I asked if she was mad that she had to massage my hands and she said yes. I got up and I asked them what they were laughing and talking about. I got so mad and told them off! First and last time coming here to get anything done, mind you I was the only customer in there so Idk why they couldn't give me a quality service that I'm paying for! I would not waste my time coming here.. I've tried to come in time to time and let little things slide but, some how every time I nicely ask for something to be fixed on nails they don't take it well and make it very noticeably awkward. Slamming tools on the desk clearly bothered that you requested something... It's actually sad I really like their work and they give really good pedicures but their attitude's are ridiculously mean and always so defensive it makes you feel super uncomfortable around the other customers knowing that they are clearly talking about you. I just left with left over tips, glue and cotton stuck to my fingers bc I mentioned how 2 of my nails were shorter in length compared to the rest and he knew because he had to cut 1 of them down to match the other? Like who does that ? Why would I want 1 let alone 2 shorter nails?? Of course he said he wasn't going to finish bc that's what they always do as I have seen them do to other customers.
