What an amazing family gem! When we stopped in we were not sure it was the right place. Glad we went in. Greeted by a young man who brought us menus and ice cold bottles of Kirkland water. Nice treat! We ordered drinks along with fried spring rolls and fresh summer rolls along with 2 bahn mi. The drinks were great! The fried spring rolls were very thin and super crispy and I love a restaurant that serves them with fresh lettuce and pickled vegetables. A decent fish sauce ( my preference is a touch sweeter but still much better than most other restaurants). The fresh summer rolls were very good as well and a nice size. My only complaint was the pork was a little dry. Shrimp only would have been a hit. The bahn mi. I believe more traditional with a charcoal taste to the pork. While we did not care for it. I would say it added a unique taste to the sandwich. Otherwise the sandwich was a nice size and had lots of fresh vegetables. This was for 4 people and we left with some leftovers. I am giving them 5 stars because they clearly care about their food and service and I would go back any chance we have. It was Labor Day and early so not busy. I assume they get busier and if not people are sleeping on this place and should give it a try. Now I'm craving a lychee green tea and those crispy spring rolls. I would do 2 orders just for myself. I saw someone post a pic of their egg coffee on facebook and decided that I absolutely needed to check this place out. And wow, their egg coffee is amazing! It looked exactly like the picture, filled to the brim and topped with egg cream that had a nice smooth texture like an airy custardy foam. The coffee was also nice and strong - even when I let the ice melt, it was still nowhere near watered down. The restaurant is clean and spacious. And the staff were nice, friendly, and helpful. I also got the grilled pork banh mi and the grilled pork summer rolls to go, which were nicely packaged and tasty. Can't wait to go back and try their matcha and other menu items. Also, in case you have trouble finding this restaurant, the name on the building and google maps is Ngọc Hà Vietnamese Restaurant. The menu, items, and yelp have the name Z cafe. I was a little confused when I first tried to look them up, but hopefully this helps someone else looking to give them a try! read more

Pretty warm upon entry. Wish they had better air especially serving pho, but we got banh mi to stay cool. We got spring rolls too which were yummy and had good lettuce to vermicelli ratio. Banh mi was good. Plenty of pate and Viet mayo and meat. My egg cream coffee was yummy! First time trying. Just tasted like a creamy foam Viet coffee. No "egg" flavor. We asked for iced water cups and never got any so I'm not sure if that's something they offer there or just bottles of water for purchase. Very bright and plenty of seating. read more

If you're ever in ORL, and love durian, this is the most authentic it'll be! Z cafe is based in cali is what the server said. The durian smoothie is 5/5 Egg cream coffee 4/5 Steak Bo Ne 4/5 Crispy noodles bird nest was good 4/5 Egg rolls and nem nuong rolls were also yummy! Steak pho 3.5/5 , I think this place is better with other entrees but not specifically pho broth etc. Ambiance: Very spacious, the staff is friendly. Clean restaurant and delicious food but the service needs a bit more training. We ordered Bo Chao, Bun cha gio thit nuong, and 2 Banh mi dac biet. We told the server we're eating the bo chao and bun for here and then taking the banh mi to go but they ended up packing everything to go even after giving us waters to eat for here. For the banh mi, we also wanted veggies to be packed on the side (very normal request so that banh mi bought in bulk can be eaten later without being soggy), they brought us a bag with 2 banh mi with no bag of veggies in site. I eventually went up to ask about it and they had given us someone else's banh mi order on accident. After we got all of our food, the owner came back out to check that all the food in our bag was correct. Other than all the service situations...the bread here is phenomenal and the portions are very well-sized. Banh mi was packed with meat and so was our bo chao and bun. The banh mi here is so good! The bread is perfectly crispy yet soft on the inside and the meat was so flavorful. I ordered the pho to try out but didn't love it as I prefer a more clovey broth. The summer rolls were good, but they came with a sauce that is not peanut that I'm used to, so it wasn't my favorite. Omgggg the bread for the banh mi here are soooo crispy! We tried this place for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy and our food came out super fast, and we loved that since it was a later lunch! We ordered the BBQ pork banh mi for $8 and the sandwich was so fresh. The bread is probably one of the best I've had. For starters we decided to try the popcorn chicken, that dish wasn't the best, I'd say skip it. It didn't have a lot of chicken, mostly breading. Then we split a BBQ pork vermicelli bowl for $14. It was super generous on the meat and I loved all the toppings with the added mint. Super affordable, great food, fast service! All around great first visit, I'd definitely come back!! read more

Popped into Z Cafe for their Ube Matcha and it did not disappoint. As I was the only one in there, service was quick. The Barista / Server was super kind. I did not eat here but the next visit I make, I will. As for the Ube Matcha itself, it was quite tasty. I did want more of the Ube but alas, it was still good. I'm curious to try some of their dishes as well as other drinks. So, again, I'll be back for sure! The overall space was clean. They still have up their holiday decor, so that added a nice festive twist to the overall modern yet home-y feel of the entire space. It is super roomy! They have ample seating throughout the space. The food here is authentic Vietnamese food. It's super flavorful the grilled pork noodle bowl was my favorite. The fish sauce on top made it perfect. The beef noodle soup is good too, I like my soup more with a bit more spice but it had a really strong lemongrass flavor and that shrimp umami. It is a tad bit hot in the store to eat soup so I would go for more of the banh mi and grilled pork noodles with a drink. The combo with a banh mi and coffee is really affordable. The store isn't too crowded so it is very chill to just sit and talk there. Overall good experience, can't wait to try other stuff here. read more

We had a soft and friendly welcome, and tried their chicken bahn mi and beef vermicelli dish, and also ordered an egg creme top latte and everything was a 10/10. Another excellent spot in the Mills District for Banh Mi's! I'm surprised that the place was empty when we went in on an early Sunday afternoon. We ordered our food to go. Everything was packaged well, with the pickled vegetables on the side so that it wouldn't make the sandwich soggy in transit. The pork banh mi was so juicy and delicious, definitely one of the best I've had! We also ordered the pork rolls which were pretty tasty. The service was great our waiter was attentive and we paid at the counter at the end of our meal. The food was good but in my opinion not worth the price when there are so many gems in the area. I loved the Nem Nuóng (grilled pork rolls) we got as our appetizer. They were very fresh, crunchy, and refreshing. I like how they were veggie packed and didn't have rice noodles in them (personal preference). My Pho was pretty lacking. I always get Pho when trying a new viet place as my base line. First of all they don't have tripe or tendon at this restaurant (what can you expect they keep A1 sauce on the table?). No biggie white people don't care about that anyways- When the pho came the broth was not as fragrant as I wanted it to be. I don't typically use much hoisin sauce or even touch the Sriracha but I needed it here... they also seem to ration the hoisin as it can not be found on the table and you will have to ask for more if you need it. My papa got #28. Mì/Hu Tíu Nuóc (special egg noodles/rice noodle soup/or without soup) he said it lacked flavor and had too much celery. read more
