"Steak" from combo fried rice
Dan B.

Tried this place bc of its over 4 stars on Yelp...and yikes. Crab rangoon is over fried with no dipping sauce. Combo fried rice is tasteless and filled with mystery meat. Sesame chicken is floppy and wayyy sweet. Mislead by Yelp. This place is a Sysco food special. Not fresh. All frozen to order. 2 stars bc it at least arrived hot.

Love these guys! They're my go to whenever Im craving some comfort food. Everything I've tired has been delicious and perfectly made and the delivery is always super fast. The service is friendly and efficient. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

After reading the reviews from fellow Yelp Elites I was hoping for something a little better. Strange that there were no pork dishes on the menu. The egg drop soup was 5 stars all the way with a rich tasting broth and egg drop flavors. I love crunchy noodles with my soup but they ran out. As for the sesame chicken... the sauce was pretty gloppy and there was way too much breading and not enough chicken. It could have been a bit crunchier as well. Not sure about the 4 pieces of broccoli that was on the plate. Might try it again.

The sign out front

I was on my way someplace else when I saw the sign for this place. It has a lovely name and a cute sign, so I thought, why not try something new? I ordered the lunch combination mushroom chicken and it was delicious. A great portion size for only $10. The atmosphere here was the best part. It's a very cozy hole-in-the-wall type place. Very easy listening music at a comfortable volume. The room temperature was just right. Friendly staff who greeted me right away and the food arrived fast and was piping hot. Overall, Yummy Station was just as nice as the name and sign indicated! Happy to find a new spot for lunch.

The best bento box experience and price ever! I'm always looking for great Chinese food at a reasonable price and when I tell you the $19.95 dinner bento box was so much food... seriously the best bang for your buck. The Bento box comes with soup of your choice, salad, an appetizer, sushi roll of your choice, main entree, and a side of rice. The restaurant didn't have too many people eating in but there takeout orders were CRAZY! The workers were working so hard and so fast to get everyone attended too. It was so great to see.

$20 for a whole plate of tons of food! Love it & the best value by far I've ever seen by a Chinese restaurant! The takeout portions are great, as pictured, and absolutely filled me up to leave some leftovers as well Partner & I will certainly be coming back.

This place was a delightful experience. Inside, it's simple with no frills. A hole-in-the-wall restaurant. But don't let that fool you. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. It's family ran and they do a great job. Their bento box is amazing but I don't think you can go wrong with anything that you order here. Definitely worth trying!

The food was very disappointing and we couldn't eat much of it. I wanted to support a local business but I won't be back.

We had reservations and sat at the bar and enjoyed watching all of the mouth-watering food preparation. We started off with the lychee saketini. YUM! So light, refreshing, not too sweet and loved the itty bitty ice chips. The rest of the meal was amazing! I wanted to lick the ponzu sauce on the hamachi jalapeño. So so good! Loved the strawberry accents. Tofu burrata was a nice surprise, very mild and creamy with the puff flatbread. Wagyu just melted in your mouth. Great flavors. I wish I had taken a picture of whole big ass tuna as he brought it out and prepared it for us - I was in awe of how beautiful and fresh it was. Delicious! We tried the cool demon slayer sake and it was so nice and smooth, it may be my new favorite drink and replace my white wine for a little bit. Give it a try. The ice cream dessert with the two flavors was the perfect way to cap off the night. Definitely recommend you go!

We got the Diablo Roll, the spicy tuna roll, and the salmon roll. All three were amazing, fresh, and filled us up. My favorite would have to be the Diablo roll because the flavor was rich and delicious. Presentation of the rolls was also a 10/10! We placed an online order for pick up and it took around 35 minutes. It looks like there isn't a whole lot of seating inside, but I would love to come back and eat here in-person!

Plus the location is clean and always very well kept. Seen this place transform to many restaurants over the years. However, the one time I really needed some pho, the experience wasn't the same. I was excited for something hot to get my body back into fighting mode, but I was disappointed when the rare steak pho arrived lukewarm. The broth wasn't hot enough to cook the steak, which just sat there barely changing color. I'm not usually one to complain, and I was very hungry, so I went ahead and ate it, but I can't say I enjoyed it. The broth was also a bit salty, and it wasn't the traditional pho experience I expected. Typically, you get the garnishes on the side so you can add your own sprouts and lime, but here the sprouts were already in the bowl and no lime was provided. I understand variations exist, but I did expect the broth to be hot. While I didn't capture a picture of the pho I did have some pictures of the ramen I've enjoyed here on a couple occasions. Again, great ramen experience but when it came to pho, it just didn't do it for me this time.

Pho and egg rolls were excellent. Clean and well designed interior. Would go back again.read more

Something I'm going to have to make a regular thing. The broth was fantastic, the noodles just right and the meat delicious. Everything came together like true raman from Japan. As I was pondering to see if I should go to more of a sit-down restaurant, Asuka's quick poke bowl sounded like a much better choice so I rushed the one on Broadway between the gym and yoga. I stepped in to be greeted by the lady in charge of the kitchen and the register. She was still finishing up the guest ahead of me but once she was done she came to take my order. I went with the Build-Your-Own bowl. The lady was efficient in asking me which ingredients I would want for my nutrient-rich bowl. She was wasting no time and effort and yet she wasn't rushing to get rid of me either (LOL!!) She sounded like she is/was used to handling a long line of people but never forgets/forgot the routine of good service. Once my bowl was perfectly crafted, she had a quick and yet genuine thank you to say. She then moved on to the next person in line. By then there were several people in line. Once I had paid I took the time to look at the interior decorations. And they are quite cute! The umbrella decors on the ceiling are one of them to mention. The dining area is not big and yet it can hold a good number of guests. Quite tidy and clean indeed. Between the location down the street from my house on Yosemite and this one, this location is quite more lively. The Yosemite location seemed a bit smaller than this one. Let's talk the quality of the bowl! Very fresh! From the crunchy cucumber pieces that snapped as I ate it to protein (salmon and tofu) to al the fixings that topped the bowl, everything tasted surprisingly and refreshingly delicious. I wouldn't necessarily say that it tasted exactly like the authentic poke bowls I experienced in Hawaii only a few months ago, Asuka is a solid (chain) place I can go and grab a bowl with no compromise. I have come to appreciate this place very much.

Found out later that around 15 of the people were in one group. We were basically ignored by the girl behind the desk for 15 minutes. There was another couple in front of us who had been waiting for 30 minutes. After another 10 minutes they left, leaving us first in line. 20 minutes past our reservation time, we really started to complain to any employee we could find. The receptionist finally tried to tell us something, but her English was so poor we did not understand her. We SAW the manger but couldn't get close enough to talk to her. Once the party of 15 was seated there was some breathing room. Suddenly 3 people got up from the table closest to us and left, one saying to us "Good Luck". I walked over to those chairs and said we would take them. The first party at the table (you know how hibachi is), told us they had been waiting for an hour for something after their soups and salads, and that is why the other group left in a huff. Once we were seated the manager cleaned up the area and got a waitress right away - guess maybe she heard we were ticked off. I was glad we were able to help the other people at the table finally get some attention! I guess they had already ordered long ago, and so the waitress rushed us to order without giving us any time to look at the menu. She also pushed the fried rice pretty heavily; I had to strongly insist I only wanted steamed rice. Found out when the bill came that each fried rice was almost $6, so that explained that. Our soup, salad and sake came out quickly. Not long after the chef came and he was a very pleasant individual. But his "hibachi entertainment skills" were limited and his serving was pretty sloppy. Granted, he was now rushing to accommodate the other poor folks. The food. I ordered the vegetable hibachi, my wife the shrimp, and my grandson the steak and shrimp. They said theirs was very good. First, they gave me a huge helping of fried rice from the common pile. I did taste it, and it was fine. Then, they gave me vegetables from the common pile, the same amount as everyone else who had ordered a protein received. I had to complain to the chef that I should have steamed rice, and he quickly flagged down a waitress and I finally got that. But no more vegetables for me as those around me got their "second course" of protein. I was waiting for the chef to cook me some more veggies when he started cleaning the table! I don't eat that much so I wasn't overly concerned, but when the chef gave me a puzzled look, I said I was supposed to have vegetable hibachi. He asked if I wanted more vegetables. I said sure, and after a while a steaming bowl arrived, apparently cooked at another table. The vegetables were VERY zucchini-heavy, with a little broccoli and a fair amount of mushrooms. It was fine. We were not offered desert, and basically given the bums rush to get out of there. Like I said, not ever issue was the actual fault of the place - the cold caused reception-area problems, and once we sat I noticed that the one party was occupying an entire table, and a different party was occupying TWO entire tables, and they seemed to have come in at almost the same time. There was at most 12 tables in there, because it was poorly laid out. There was a giant television (nice one!) but it had a huge amount of empty, wasted space in front of it. There was a long section of booths by the windows, left over from the room's last incarnation, where I guess people could just order sushi or tempura - but none of them were occupied. If I want sushi I will go to a sushi place. We go to Japanese grills for the grilling! My major complaint is the management/staff response to the issues. The receptionist seemed to just shut down when things became overwhelming, and they should never have reserved three complete tables at the same time. Or, alternatively, should have better managed the reservations for all the parties of 3-5 (us). I really don't know why the families at the table with us had to wait for an hour for a chef to show up, except they were kind and nice. And by that point, we were not. Finally, when my check came back with the charge slip, it also included the charge slip for someone else. Our bill was correct, so I paid and tried to get a waitress/manager's attention to give them the other person's bill, but to no avail. I finally gave up and left it on the table. So, lots of little issues made the whole evening a lot less fun than it should have been. Entire time from butts-in-chair to walking out the door was maybe 40 minutes, to be generous, though wait time was closer to 30.
