    Pink Lady Roll

We like this place and went for lunch today. They have some good lunch combo options so you can have a good meal for $15. We opted for a pink lady roll and some fried rice. I didn't care the large amount of red onion in the rice. Found it odd an Asian place would use red vs yellow or white onion in fried rice. And don't like that they gave us only one menu for 2 people. When asked an additional was provided by why would you not give each person a menu.

The food was good, presentation was cute. Once again this does have raw fish so we felt that the quality of the ingredients was good, everything was fresh and the service was just as fast and friendly. We love a nice local spot for some good sushi. Even better if it's within walking distance! There are many options on the menu but we chose a sushi platter for two and we found that was the best value! Oh and there are also other menu options besides sushi ;) While it may look like a whole in the wall place, I promise you it's worth coming here.

Came here for lunch on a Thursday with a co-work. We arrived shortly after they opened and were seated immediately. They offer some fun rolls as well as the traditional ones. Service & food was good- will be back.

We stopped here for my friend's birthday dinner. First thing we noticed is the building was in some disrepair. It used to be a Pizza Hut and repurposing a very obvious building structure is akward at best. The red of the previous paint job is coming through all over the exterior. Parking lot is safe and well lit but also in some disrepair. The service was fast and efficient but cold and distant. No casual chat, banter or anything remotely close to friendly. The food came out fast and was a solid average for the genre. The spicy tuna sushi was first rate but the seafood ramen was average, as was the shrimp tempura. I'd order the sushi again but not the ramen or tempura. The building is clean inside but the employee sleeping in one of the booths near us felt odd. I'm not sure why but I didn't like it. It felt tacky. All in all, this restaurant was a solid average and I prefer to eat at locations that excel.

Yes! Sawa sushi is back open for dining! We had a lunch as beautiful as it was delicious! When we entered with our masks, we had a quick temperature check and were seated at a very acceptable distance from other diners. However, I was not too far away from a mom and son who were delighted with the food presentation and the taste of their food. I could hear them rave about everything, and they said they would bring their whole family back.....and they have a big family! I enjoyed watching someone else who was thrilled with dining here like I am! Let me tell you, once you visit a few times, they know you. If you order the same thing all the time, they will remember. So today, I fooled them. I wanted to convince my husband we could still get sushi in retirement. We ordered a lunch special where you choose 3 rolls (generously sized) and a salad and soup for $14. This is a great deal for lunch because we split it and had plenty of food. Ok, we might have added a few things for fun, but not because we were hungry. We had strawberry and mango mochi for dessert.....ahhhh, so refreshing on a summer day. You won't be sorry if you check this place o

Came in on a Sunday night with our little kids. We ordered seafood miso soup and miso eggplant as our appetizer . The miso soup was more flavorful than regular miso as the seafood added a great flavor. The eggplant had a very unique taste, but was delicious . We also ordered chicken fried rice, and 3 sushi rolls. The rolls were falling apart when picked up, but tasted fresh. The service was very slow, even though there was only 2-3 groups of people dining in.

We went here because the reviews are great. We would not go back. The surface was OK. The ambience was OK. (still feels like Pizza Hut ) The food is just OK. We ordered a sushi plate as an appetizer. It came after we had gotten our meal. I ordered the seafood Ramen. The broth did not have a lot of flavor. My wife had the pork Ramen. Which was a little better. Service was all around slow. we had to ask someone else for a box in our check. And then we still had to wait quite a while.

    What vegan options are available?

I had miso soup and salad, but I also saw sweet potato tempura sushi and other vegetable sushi. There are noodle dishes, but I didn't check if the noodles were vegan.

As I was pondering to see if I should go to more of a sit-down restaurant, Asuka's quick poke bowl sounded like a much better choice so I rushed the one on Broadway between the gym and yoga. I stepped in to be greeted by the lady in charge of the kitchen and the register. She was still finishing up the guest ahead of me but once she was done she came to take my order. I went with the Build-Your-Own bowl. The lady was efficient in asking me which ingredients I would want for my nutrient-rich bowl. She was wasting no time and effort and yet she wasn't rushing to get rid of me either (LOL!!) She sounded like she is/was used to handling a long line of people but never forgets/forgot the routine of good service. Once my bowl was perfectly crafted, she had a quick and yet genuine thank you to say. She then moved on to the next person in line. By then there were several people in line. Once I had paid I took the time to look at the interior decorations. And they are quite cute! The umbrella decors on the ceiling are one of them to mention. The dining area is not big and yet it can hold a good number of guests. Quite tidy and clean indeed. Between the location down the street from my house on Yosemite and this one, this location is quite more lively. The Yosemite location seemed a bit smaller than this one. Let's talk the quality of the bowl! Very fresh! From the crunchy cucumber pieces that snapped as I ate it to protein (salmon and tofu) to al the fixings that topped the bowl, everything tasted surprisingly and refreshingly delicious. I wouldn't necessarily say that it tasted exactly like the authentic poke bowls I experienced in Hawaii only a few months ago, Asuka is a solid (chain) place I can go and grab a bowl with no compromise. I have come to appreciate this place very much.

The cheese tan tan was good, probably just a bit too much on the cheese so I would stick with more of a classical ramen if I were to go back. The one thing that caught my eye that I wasn't a fan of was the pricing. I looked at a standard tonkatsu which is kind of my baseline when I'm looking at different ramens. If I wanted to add in all the vegetables that are normally standard and an egg it would go from the $17 base to almost $26 or $9 more when compared to a very comparable competitor nearby that has it priced at $17.50 for a tonkatsu with all the same base, vegetables, egg, etc. That was the reason for the option on our side to stick with the pre-selected specialties so we didn't have to jump through hoops pricing wise. Which takes me to service normally. I like to get three adult meals and split one of the adult size portion between my 4 and 6-year-old. Some places are very accommodating and will go out of their way to split it in the back kitchen so we aren't making a mess at the table. Others are kind of like, Yeah, we'll give you an extra bowl and you do you... Normally I'm not picky and I wouldn't care one way or the other, but since I was already irked by the pricing when I asked if they could do that for me in the kitchen they said " that wouldn't be very easy for the chef so I'll just bring you the bowls".. I'm glad we're doing what's easy for the chef and not for me the customer.

Our server, a nice younger man, approached us to get our drink and food order - we stuck with water and opted for hot honey garlic wontons and two medium bowls of piping hot chicken pho. The wontons arrived first - and were SO good. Perfectly fried, spicy, hot and garlicy! yum! The pho arrived shortly after, and both my nephew and I licked our lips - ready to dive in. The broth itself is good. Very tame but full of flavor. I loaded mine up with bean sprouts, jalapenos, siracha, onion and basil, while he kept it simple with just sprouts and a dash of hot sauce. The noodle to chicken ratio was perfect and tasted delicious! YUM!! The medium size is massive - and I wasn't able to finish all of my meal, but our server happily provided a to-go container for me to take the remainder home with me!
