We have ordered from here multiple times but recently ordered the garlic broccoli and it was awful. I've had this many times from Sawa and usually the sauce is sweet and has actual garlic (hence the name.) In our recent order, it had no garlic, not sweet at all, and I think it was straight soy sauce. Could not eat it because it was just too salty. Overall, the sushi is good. But the hibachi and teriyaki dishes are mediocre at best; the fried rice has no flavor. read more

Decided to give this place a try and it was okay. I have been to many, many sushi restaurants, and the flavor of the fish here wasn't that great. The cuts were generous, which makes me wonder a bit about the quality, especially given the flavor. The selection of rolls was huge, and they also offer many other Japanese dishes. We like this place and went for lunch today. They have some good lunch combo options so you can have a good meal for $15. We opted for a pink lady roll and some fried rice. I didn't care the large amount of red onion in the rice. Found it odd an Asian place would use red vs yellow or white onion in fried rice. And don't like that they gave us only one menu for 2 people. Once again this does have raw fish so we felt that the quality of the ingredients was good, everything was fresh and the service was just as fast and friendly. This is not about their Sushi but their other dishes . I have tried their beef teriyaki and a combo chicken beef Hibachi. I am not going to order from here again. They were not terrible, but in both cases they were the worst Hibachi dish and beef teriyaki dish that I have ever had. I fell a little guilty slamming them too badly. I'm looking forward to returning to try the dine in option. Our first visit was for take out. They called us while we were on the way home to say they forgot a dish, which is understandable. We turned around and went back to get the rest of our order. Our rolls and nigiri were tasty. Overall just carrying out and chatting was a solid experience. I want to see what dining is all about. You can tell this building used to be a Pizza Hut and times have definitely pivoted to other cuisines as you can tell from this review. This restaurant was overall mediocre. Veggie tempura was mostly sweet potatoes and an asparagus whose ends weren't cut off. Veggie ramen is overcooked ramen with under seasoned broth. When you ask for spicy oil they give you spicy sesame oil ( but don't tell you about the sesame ). Yes! Sawa sushi is back open for dining! We had a lunch as beautiful as it was delicious! When we entered with our masks, we had a quick temperature check and were seated at a very acceptable distance from other diners. However, I was not too far away from a mom and son who were delighted with the food presentation and the taste of their food. I could hear them rave about everything, and they said they would bring their whole family back.....and they have a big family! I enjoyed watching someone else who was thrilled with dining here like I am! Let me tell you, once you visit a few times, they know you. If you order the same thing all the time, they will remember. We stopped here for my friend's birthday dinner. First thing we noticed is the building was in some disrepair. It used to be a Pizza Hut and repurposing a very obvious building structure is akward at best. The red of the previous paint job is coming through all over the exterior. Parking lot is safe and well lit but also in some disrepair. The service was fast and efficient but cold and distant. No casual chat, banter or anything remotely close to friendly. The food came out fast and was a solid average for the genre. The spicy tuna sushi was first rate but the seafood ramen was average, as was the shrimp tempura. I'd order the sushi again but not the ramen or tempura. The building is clean inside but the employee sleeping in one of the booths near us felt odd. I'm not sure why but I didn't like it. Came in on a Sunday night with our little kids. We ordered seafood miso soup and miso eggplant as our appetizer . The miso soup was more flavorful than regular miso as the seafood added a great flavor. The eggplant had a very unique taste, but was delicious . We also ordered chicken fried rice, and 3 sushi rolls. The rolls were falling apart when picked up, but tasted fresh. As for the ambiance, this restaurant is sorely lacking a Japanese Izakaya feel.The ugly curtains need to be removed and the wood panels should be covered in paint. The spouse commented how you can't judge a book by it's cover as we drove up to this restaurant. I believe this used to be an old Pizza Hut. And is dated looking on the outside. Once you get inside, the ambiance is classy/casual. We were greeted immediately by the host and shown to our table with no wait. The wait staff was some of the best we have ever had. Frequently visiting our table to refill drinks but not over-bearing. We ordered sushi and waited for about 12 minutes for 6 orders to arrive at our table. Presentation was very good.
