Downtown Littleton is a street full of restaurants, bars, and small shops. So why try out yet another Vietnamese restaurant? Because this place deserves your attention for their kind and attentive service, great variety (there are tons of dishes I don't normally see like Vietnamese Fried Chicken!), and home style meals. Our normal go to Pho run is Pho Basil which is a bit out of the way. And while I will never stop going there, I am adding Pho Real to the mix. I loved their beef tendon and brisket pho. I got the medium and it was a perfect amount for me. I loved how they cut up the tendon into very manageable pieces. I was able to savor a little bit of everything in each bite. I do have to say they are very generous with the portions. But their pho broth at the bottom of the bowl was very salty. So I only finished it up what I could eat with the noodles. Which was a lot! If you're not into pho or maybe want to try something different, we also tried the beef fried rice which came with the same brisket that you find in the pho. It was a perfect cut for fried rice. Ordered the combination fried rice. The order came with exactly 2 small shrimp, both of which smelled absolutely horrible. Like you could smell bad fish from 3 feet away! I plucked those nasty critters out, but now wondering if it is worth potentially getting sick by finishing what is left. The chicken is dry and has zero flavor and the pork has grey marbling. **Edit I chose to eat some of the rice anyway, but it was so terrible I took it back for a refund. The owner refuted the fact that the shrimp was bad, even after I had her smell it. She insisted that's how shrimp smells, so I dared her to take a bite. She refused. She did refund my money and I was going to leave it at that, but.... Here we are 18 hours later and I have food poisoning. Vomiting and bad diarrhea. That was the only thing I ate yesterday. On a recent cool and rainy Friday, my 8-year-old nephew wanted a date with Koko (!!) at Pho Real. How can one say no to that? Pho Real is a gem in downtown Littleton - for real! We found decent street parking and arrived around 12 noon, to a fairly packed house. My nephew picked the table near the window, which was the perfect spot. The light from outside poured into the large windows, providing a cozy yet bright vibe for lunch. The interior is large and long - allowing parties of all sizes to dine in. Our server, a nice younger man, approached us to get our drink and food order - we stuck with water and opted for hot honey garlic wontons and two medium bowls of piping hot chicken pho. The wontons arrived first - and were SO good. Perfectly fried, spicy, hot and garlicy! yum! The pho arrived shortly after, and both my nephew and I licked our lips - ready to dive in. The broth itself is good. Very tame but full of flavor. I loaded mine up with bean sprouts, jalapenos, siracha, onion and basil, while he kept it simple with just sprouts and a dash of hot sauce. The noodle to chicken ratio was perfect and tasted delicious! YUM!! The medium size is massive - and I wasn't able to finish all of my meal, but our server happily provided a to-go container for me to take the remainder home with me! Accidental amazing find! We were waiting to get seated next door for tacos but the wait was longer so we peeped inside Pho Real and decided to move over here. Turned out to be a great decision! Pho Real is humble and unassuming but has quite a few special dishes unseen anywhere else. Such as the Banh Mi Crepe which was savory, fun to eat and delicious! The other dishes we tried all came loading with meats and quite tasty. Even though we didn't see a single Vietnamese wait staff, hopefully the ones working in the kitchen all were. The food this time was only so so. The broth for the pho was not very rich and lacked depth of flavor. We ordered three different kinds of phos but all were just okay. The hot wings were good, but not cooked all the way through to the bone. We had the honey wings. Do not order the salt and pepper calamari it was very tough and chewy. With too much batter around it. Came here for a Togo lunch and I want to try more items. This review is based on the fresh spring rolls and edamame I ordered only. Ok so where do I start, so the food at Pho Real was like "For Real" good! I was taken there by my man on a cozy fall night and we sat down and looked over their menu. I'm a big sesame chicken girlie with some rice on the side. So when I saw that they had that on their menu, I had to get it. The food was really slow coming out as if they didn't have enough staff. But over all the food was very enjoyable. I also ordered a Thai tea which I never had before and that was really good. 3-4ish rating. Hard to compare, coming from the best food in NYC. But a few things: 1. The wings were deep fried. I wish they were less fried, or explicitly stated as to being deep fried. 2. The bahn mi meat was tasty- BUT it was in dire need of more vegetables. I like a good pickled carrot mix and this was lacking. It tasted like a pure meat sandwich. 3. The pho was alright. Somewhat basic, the rare meat didn't excite me but I did like the tendon. The staff was friendly, the ambiance was good enough. Nothing shocking. But it took a little while to get the food, and the prices were a bit high for the quality. Will I be back? Yes, Probably- but will try other spots first. Love Pho Real! It's a quick and easy lunch or dinner location in Downtown Littleton. We had a friend visiting who is Vegan so we wanted to ensure we could find a veggie-friendly dinner spot. Pho-Real never disappoints, the edamame was fresh and the Veggie pho came out pipping hot. We always struggle to find a pho restaurant that serves Chinese food as well, and were happy to see they do! I love Pho Real! This place is outstanding because of the service. The main guy who is working whenever I am in there is super friendly and makes me feel comfortable and welcomed every time. I love the wall decore in the restaurant and they have a few tv's in the restaurant that usually is showing a sports game. Whenever I go I always get a Bahn mi sandwich as the bread and sauce is so good. I love the Pho and the egg rolls but I have not tried anything that I have not liked. My wife and I are new in town and have ordered here many times. Our last order we received something very concerning with our pho. There were insects (slugs) in/on our Basil packet. I originally did not want to post it to the internet because I don't like airing dirty laundry, however. I went in to explain the situation and show photos of what we got. The owner did not compensate us, and insisted that what I was seeing was merely a bean sprout. That's why I've decided to post this online. There are HUNDREDS of pho restaurants in the area. Very kind and prompt service. Though, I wish I enjoyed the food more. My boyfriend ordered the pho and it was SALTY. Not much beef flavor either. I ordered the fish sauce wings. While the cook was great (crispy fried battered wings), it was drowning in fish sauce. This made them so salty that I ended up having to peel off most of the skin so that I could finish the chicken. I think they would be better with the fish sauce on the side. We came in the middle of summer and it was uncomfortable since they don't run any A/C. 3-4ish rating...Sat on the back patio, which needed a sunshade. My wife and I ordered Pho noodle bowls, which could have had a little more flavorful broth. I also ordered the Summer roll, which was good, but could have had a little more of the BBQ pork in it. And finally ordered Vietnamese egg rolls3=5ish, it was more like Chinese egg rolls, and not sure if they were made in-house. The walls have a long booth style bench with various tables and chairs push up to them and a variety of socially distanced tables throughout. There's a large mural that was opposite where we were seated that had various pho related sayings and silly takes on song lyrics. It was a super fun and comfortable space! THE SUSTENANCE: We both have simple tastes with our pho - rare steak all the way! However we are both picky about broth flavor and having all the delicious additions to customize our pho. Marissa C is all about the basil, lime, sriracha, and jalapenos. While I mix in bean sprouts, lime, hoisin sauce, sriracha, and jalapenos. To each there own, right? Not to mention that the fun with pho is truly making it your own. Well Pho Real has some killer broth and it's served up piping hot with all the additions to make it exactly how you want it. THE SIPS: If you've read any of my previous pho restaurant reviews, you know that I'm a sucker for Thai Iced Tea. So naturally I chose to sip on the black tea coconut milk drink that I always crave. I assumed Pho Real was always packed because of its location, but after trying it myself I see it's also because it's the best pho in town! We ordered for delivery through Toast Tab because it was a lazy day, and I figured if I was going to pay someone else to do the legwork I'd finally try this place out. What's different than the other pho spots in the area is that when ordering they ask that you request a spice level for your broth. I like a kick, so I chose the "hot" version, right in the middle of mild and very hot. We also got some egg rolls and wontons. When the food arrived I dug right in and was so pleasantly surprised! The egg rolls were perfect, fried to perfection. On a to-go order they put them on top of some rice noodles so I'd be eager to try them in restaurant, as those made the bottoms a little soggy. Seriously so delicious though. Same with the wontons, though these didn't have any accoutrements so they were perfectly crisp. The broth of the pho had a perfect kick and I really enjoyed the spice level and that I had the option to add it. My husband ordered Pad Thai and it was delicious, but missing a little something to make it full flavored. I'm very curious to eat in here, I bet it's even better! I have passed Pho Real often after moving to Littleton in May. I went to vote in person on Election Day, and as I walking home, I thought I deserved to treat myself after performing my civic duty. And I was really hungry, too. The service was fantastic, my pho came out quickly, and it totally hit the spot! It was really good. It was disappointing visit. Its staffed by friendly servers and looks clean and ac working good on this day. What's the problem? 1. Vegi tray for pho was ridiculously petite. 2. No small sauce tray? 3. Overly sweet broth. Why do we make the broth so sweet? 4. Broth had no flavor or... richness. Watered down too much? Vegans can eat here! Veggie broth and lots of fresh veggies. Clean and well maintained interior. Wait staff is by committee and is sometimes a little slower than just having one person wait your table but I think they make up for it by being very friendly and helpful. Our appetizer was tofu spring rolls. They came out after about a 20 minute wait. This is not normal for them but it was very busy. The rolls were fresh and very flavorful. There was a vegan peanut sauce that really added to my enjoyment. It was nutty and not overly sweet. We all ordered PHO. All the vegans were happy. They bring out a side plate of fresh basil and bean sprouts for you to add to your PHO. PHO was served at just the right temperature - it didn't burn my lips, tongue nor mouth - yet was still hot enough to be warm and inviting. We get takeout regularly from this pho place. We like the pork meatball sandwich (very good, my friend is having an affair with this menu item, and strongly recommends). I get the grilled chicken noodles, and it comes with lettuce, carrot, cucumber, grilled chicken and rice noodles, and some sweet/spicy broth. Really good, about 1-1.5 servings, and I almost cry every time I get my grilled chicken with noodles. Good sized parking lot behind restaurant.
