It doesn't have the international recognition of Ippudo or Santouka or the creativity of Nagi, but the ramen here feels as though someone is treating you for a nice dinner at home. There are only three flavors available of the ramen, the shiro (classic), kuro (garlic), and aka (spicy). I've had both the kuro and aka, and I can say that they are extremely satisfying. Neither the garlic nor the spice was too overpowering. The broth was also extremely well-balanced. Not too fatty but still smooth enough to make you want to slurp the bowl once you've finished. The pork cuts weren't as tender as I've had at other places, but still very well done. The tamago was also well done. Love the runniness! But what puts this place over the edge into 5-star territory is the price. You can get a super filling bowl of ramen here for only 230 pesos! And that's for the larger size! I wager that's basically half of what you'd pay at the more upscale mall places for nearly the same quality. I was also able to try one of their sets featuring a bowl of ramen of your choosing, their gyudon rice don on the side and a bowl of fresh fruits for only 360 pesos. I was stuffed after. So so worth it. The gyoza was also really well made, and a steal for only 100 pesos. The staff here is always super attentive and accommodating, even when we've come in with a larger group, and they do accept all major credit cards, which is a huge plus for me. Definitely worth a try. I don't have to venture out to the more upscale parts of the Metro to enjoy a well-curated bowl of ramen anymore!

She had a half serving of ramen and I thought I was having a half serving too but turns out my set came with a full serving! I was so full afterwards but that's all good because the food was so delicious. I especially appreciated the fact that the curry had cubes of beef and not the "malitid" strings of beef you find in other establishments.

I was probably expecting a lot as I didn't feel like I was very satisfied and happy with the ramen I got. Everyone else seem to like what they got, my kids included. But they did say they had better. Service was good and staff was friendly. Ambiance and decor was also great. Love their Japanese themed decor and the chairs with baskets to hold your personal items and bags or purses. I would liken this type of restaurant to Chipotle, where you can customize your order. Ramen Nagi is the fast casual version for Ramen. We were greeted with the enthusiastic Irasshaimase by the servers as we stepped inside. The restaurant had Japanese decor all around, with tables, chairs and benches for larger dining groups. Phia helped me customize my order based on my preference, which each one wrote on their own order sheets and later on collected by our server. Our sever delivered drinks and after a short wait, everyone's piping hot ramen. After my first sip of the broth, I could immediately tell these guys have something special going on. The rich broth was meaty, with a creamy texture. It was very tasty! Everyone in my group enjoyed their ramen-- including me as only remnants of the broth remained in my bowl after I was done... yes, we have a ramen convert here. If I had one quibble, it would be that the restaurant temp was on the warm side, which made some of us (not gonna name names Raphael) sweat profusely. However, if it were any cooler, the ramen would cool down pretty quickly. Although Ramen Nagi would be at a different segment and lower price point than Ippudo, I would have to say that I enjoyed my experience in Ramen Nagi QC, Philippines much more than dining at Ippudo in NY. From the food to the relaxed ambience to the company of my beloved family... my Ramen Nagi visit was just awesome. I would go back in a heartbeat-- if I could!

I quickly came to realize that 99% of the ramen that I had been eating all my life, more or less, came out of those little plastic bags or bowls from the grocery store. I never truly give ramen the respect it deserves. But Ramen Nagi does. Ramen seems like a simple dish, right? It's basically noodles and broth. Not that complicated. But alas, more often than not, the simplest things tend to be the most difficult to master. From the first sip of Ramen Nagi's broth, I knew I was in for something special. There's a creamy and very meaty essence to the broth that once you sip it, you can literally taste the quality and care that went into making it. You have 4 choices of base ramen flavors "Original King" (Butao), "Black King" (Kuroo), "Red King" (Akao), and the "Green King" (Midorio). The difference between these is mainly the flavor of broth but the main components such as noodles, green onions, and bamboo shoots are still present. Also, you get the choice of customizing your ramen with regards to noodle hardness, broth richness, spiciness and numerous more. Definitely another way to make sure you get your ramen just the way you like it. All in all, Ramen Nagi has made me fall in love again with ramen and educated me on what superb ramen can taste like. After tasting a few spots here and there in the Metro, Ramen Nagi is still my favorite ramen place. Pros -Afraid to get your shirt soiled? Ask for a bib and they'll even offer to tie it around your neck for you. -Great broth and very consistent. Been to multiple Ramen Nagi branches and it's always a great experience. -Ramen customization! Cons -Pricey. As with most top-end ramen places expect to pay around P350-450P for a bowl.

High chairs are available for kids and adults and establishment delivers via FoodPanda. BEVERAGE We had hot and cold tea by accident so what we did was consume the cold one during the meal because the ramen was hot. Then I had the warm tea to feel relaxed after getting full. FOOD Signature Happiness Ramen (shoyu tonkotsu broth ramen topped with tender, slow-braised custom cut soft bone pork rib) was umami with a tasty broth, acceptably hard noodles, a very generous serving of tender beef, and a cute strip of seaweed with some Kanji written on it. I'd strongly recommend this dish for the quality of the beef. Teriyaki Beef Tapa Rice Bowl (angus beef slices, homemade teriyaki, garlic, sunny-side up egg, salsa, gari, spiced vinegar on rice) was an interesting approach to combining Japanese and Filipino brunch, and the quality of the beef was, indeed, special but a bit pricey for me. The sweet taste of beef was pleasant but the ramen gave me more value. SERVICE We were informed that the Signature Happiness Ramen "whole" size, Ebi Tempura and free kaedama or noodles weren't included in Zomato Gold. Claiming perks was smooth! Because of the relay of messages, we accidentally received hot and cold tea but we were totally okay with it; can't waste good tea!

If it's your first time, try their famous signature Happiness Ramen. It costs Php 480 a bowl and the serving is big enough for three kids to share. Or two adults. Or one ramen-lover like me. The pork is soft and the broth can be oily but then again that's the point. It's just good. You have the option to add tamago to your bowl (for an additional fee) and I strongly recommend you do that. It's good enough on its own though. They don't have much in their menu but thankfully they have gyoza. I mean how can a ramen place not have gyoza? The two have been married since time immemorial. Okay I'm exagerrating. But really, get some gyoza too. They're really good.

Although that's the case, I still enjoy exploring cheaper ramen places, and I am so annoyed right now because apparently, Hikojyu has been around for a year and a half already, yet I learned about it only 2 weeks ago! Bummer! Anyway, my boyfriend and I are so glad of this discovery! Unlike other ramen restaurants, Hikojyu's ramen choices are limited to just 2 kinds: shoyu and tonkotsu. Naturally, we ordered both! When they were served, I was a bit apprehensive because they didn't look hefty. However, on my first sip of both broths, I knew we have found the best affordable ramen shop in Marikina! They are rich in flavor, minus the umay factor that others have! Of course, given the price, the toppings were understandably limited to a few pieces of pechay, egg halves, and a chashu slice, which could still be made more tender, IMO. If you want your ramen to be spicy, use any of their authentic Japanese condiments. For our sides we tried their gyoza and potato salad. I was never a fan of gyoza save for Ippudo's deep-fried gyoza, and now, I have a second favorite! This one doesn't have the yucky mashed old veggie taste that most gyozas have! But if I had to pick just one side, I'd order their potato salad more often! It's perfectly seasoned! Wish it came in a bigger serving, though! On one corner of the restaurant is a table with magazines, both English and Japanese, plus an album filled with the owners' pictures in Japan. We met one of them, the wife, Tita Tess, and she's really nice and accommodating! Never a dull moment! Her husband is Japanese, so we know that Hikojyu's dishes are authentic! I can't wait to go back and try their rice meals!!!
