    Shoyu ramen, 5pcs gyoza
    Timothy Spencer T.

TLDR: The greatest tonkotsu ramen of all time. One of the greatest gyozas to be made. The greatest service water of all time. Eating this more than once a quarter would probably be unhealthy. Knowing that, I think I'd still risk it. Shoyu ramen: It's ethereal food. This bowl of ramen may not be delicate and it's definitely not light. It is however almost too perfect for this world. The broth is life changing, the chashu is tender like it was cooked for 12 hours, the noodles are amazing, and the additives in the bowl pop out enough to be noticed but never outshine the main components. Gyoza: It may just be the best gyoza I've ever had. It's a perfect mix of pork and veggies. The gyoza skin is thin, the sauce is a good touch of tang, and I just love everything in the plate. Water: I know. Who in their right mind will review the water of the restaurant? Me, because I've never had water that I would call "amazing". I don't care if your bottled water is from the French Alps. This one easily beats it and I don't have to pay extra for it. Service: The place has a very barebones setup. Cashier takes your order. You wait for your number to be called. You're ushered to a seat. Kitchen staff prepare and give you your food. It's a straightforward and easy interaction. Everything you need is most likely already in front of you. Ambiance: The biggest downside of this place is the wait. The place only seats 20-25 and the lines get pretty crazy. Once you're inside though, the place looks simple yet elegant, the restaurant is not hot considering the kitchen is the center piece, and the layout is unique.

    Miso Ramen

Must Visit! Ordered: Miso Ramen & Gyzoa. Hands down one of the best ramen spots I visited in Makati. Highly recommend going early and hungry seating is limited, and the portion is generous. After reading all the reviews I made sure to be there within 15 minutes of opening. Upon arrival, you are required to show your vaccination card - hard copy or digital. You'll then be sent to the cashier to place your order. The best part is you can watch from the boat-shaped kitchen counter your meal being prepared. The menu is straightforward. The most popular and what I had was the Tonkatsu Miso Ramen. Other options: * Tsukemen cold noodles are separate from the broth. * Maze Soba - dry noodles served with a thick sauce. * Hiyashi Ramen, commonly loaded with vegetables and meat All best paired with their delicious Gyoza. This miso soup was light on the palate but bold in flavor. Noodles were a perfect balance of firm and chewy. Topped, with tender cuts of smoked chatsu slices. You are left with such a lingering sense of satisfaction once consumed. You'll be planning your next visit right after. Note: Customers can choose their spice level. You can find better-priced ramen around the city but this is worth every penny. Overall, great taste, presentation, and service is quick. Mi

One of the best ramen I've ever had! Glad my cousins took me here. We came toward the end of the night but it was still quite packed! Just shows how good the food is. We were able to "pre order" while waiting so as soon as we sat down, the ramen shortly followed. I ordered the tantanmen and wow! It was so creamy, delicious and bursting with flavor. We also ordered the shoyo and miso and all were extremely flavorful and rich. I loved it. Ambiance reminded me of Japan as we all sat side by side in a wrap around bar. Next time I'm in Makati, I am definitely stopping by!

Good service and really good ramen! Fairly authentic only complaint was it was just a touch salty, but not too bad.

I hate waiting for food. Period. But daaannnnngg that bowl of Tantanmen was so delicious. If I lived in the area, I would definitely figure out when I didn't have to wait so long for such a delicious bowl of silky pork broth and noodles were chewy. I ordered a side of chashu which was tender and salted just right, aji tamago, and gyoza. I brought 2 people that weren't used to that type of ramen, and I'll say it... I looked that place up and selfishly chose it because it looked so good! I just had to try it no matter what. Ok ok... it's mean to take mom there who doesn't care for that, but she said I can choose! Don't judge me. The seating is a sort of horseshoe style and you're able to see the workers work on bowls of goodness. If you're ever in the Makati area and love a good hearty bowl of ramen... come here, but be prepared to wait.

In the past couple weeks I've eaten here at least 5 times and we'll, this place makes the best ramen in the world in my opinion. You heard that right. Literally, the best ramen in the world is served here. Period. My personal favorite is the Shio with extra char siu, followed closely by the Shoyu ramen. The broth is a perfectly balanced, thick and creamy miracle of heaven bestowed upon us on Earth. The noodles are cooked to perfection and are of the exactly length, girthiness, and texture that lies somewhere between chewy and melt in your mouth (if that is even possible). And speaking of melt in your mouth, the char siu is just that and more. With a slight hint of carmelization, and a fall of the bone type of consistency, you must order the extra char siu (3 more pieces for 120 pesos) lest you regret it after inhaling your single piece unwittingly. I've already said it, but I'ma say it again. Best ramen ever.

Got the Buta Kwkuni Ramen, delicious. Perfect blend of rich spicy broth and sweetness from the smoked pork. Definitely filling with its thick noodles

    Off-the-menu Seafood ramen
    Gaby D.

Simply the best ramen in Manila. Worth the wait! I order the seafood ramen, which is off the menu. It's a rich and hearty shrimp-base ramen, unlike the traditional ramen flavours. Mendokoro also serves up the best crispy outside and juicy inside gyozas in town, especially since they have invested in a special machine just for gyozas. If you're in the mood for something extra sinful, try the karai tokusei tsukemen. It's a spicy dipping ramen, served with a heavier and richer thick soup to dip the noodles in. Worth the calories!

    Shio Ramen
    Stephanie A.

This is definitely the best ramen place in the City. But make sure you are patiente enough the day you go and be ready to wait a looong time before getting a seat. But it is definitely worth it! The shio ramen is delicious and the noodles are perfectly cooked. And the Gyoza will make you crave for more, so do not hesitate to order the 5 pcs (or more!). It's really a place where you get your ramen fix and go to leave you seat to the next person. It's quite hot inside and you have people staring at you (waiting for their turn) to see how fast or slow you eat hahaha. But hey!, I did the same to the people before me hehehe. I'd say it's a must try!

It doesn't have the international recognition of Ippudo or Santouka or the creativity of Nagi, but the ramen here feels as though someone is treating you for a nice dinner at home. There are only three flavors available of the ramen, the shiro (classic), kuro (garlic), and aka (spicy). I've had both the kuro and aka, and I can say that they are extremely satisfying. Neither the garlic nor the spice was too overpowering. The broth was also extremely well-balanced. Not too fatty but still smooth enough to make you want to slurp the bowl once you've finished. The pork cuts weren't as tender as I've had at other places, but still very well done. The tamago was also well done. Love the runniness! But what puts this place over the edge into 5-star territory is the price. You can get a super filling bowl of ramen here for only 230 pesos! And that's for the larger size! I wager that's basically half of what you'd pay at the more upscale mall places for nearly the same quality. I was also able to try one of their sets featuring a bowl of ramen of your choosing, their gyudon rice don on the side and a bowl of fresh fruits for only 360 pesos. I was stuffed after. So so worth it. The gyoza was also really well made, and a steal for only 100 pesos. The staff here is always super attentive and accommodating, even when we've come in with a larger group, and they do accept all major credit cards, which is a huge plus for me. Definitely worth a try. I don't have to venture out to the more upscale parts of the Metro to enjoy a well-curated bowl of ramen anymore!

The rice tasted like they old rice which would be perfect for your usual fried rice as that's what I use but this was too brittle. I paired the chicken with an Asahi beer which hit the spot perfectly. All in all I would say reserve seats first so you don't have to wait long. My dad's relatives are somewhat aware, so they suggested we go here for lunch. I was bummed because of the lack of local eateries we've been to so far (which will be a recurring pattern for the rest of our time here). And Ippudo already has locations back in the States. But I was still interested in going since I didn't get the opportunity to go during my Japan trip last year. You will find the restaurant on the second floor of Greenbelt 5, a shopping mall in Makati. Next to Chili's, which I'm sure is a familiar name for everyone. There was a bit of a wait since it was busy. Seating was tight because our part of six was smushed into a booth that should probably only accommodate four. A bowl of ramen is about $8-12 USD, on the higher end locally (the average office worker in Manila makes less than $10 an hour). I tried their limited edition (available until April 30) Yakiniku Ramen. The pork bone broth was lukewarm, but the consistency of the Hakata style noodles were great and the soft boiled egg was perfect.
