A cold, snowy Monday is a good excuse to get ramen takeout, right? (The correct answer is yes.) I mean, ramen is good all the time, but when it's cold outside, or when I'm sick, or when I have a hangover, ramen is the best thing in the world. Today, it was cold outside, so ramen it was. Yujo offers half a dozen or so different combinations of ramen, including vegan ramen, spicy ramen, and ramen with miso broth. Because this was my first time visiting, I chose the Yuzu Signature, which included pork and chicken broth, a soft-boiled marinated egg, nori, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, pork and, of course, noodles. I chose to add corn for an extra dollar. It was goooood, people. Super slurpable noodle goodness. My husband got the Tokyo Classic, which, when we compared each other's ramen, looked like it included all of the ingredients that came in the Yuzu Signature. I think the only difference is that the broth is different? Don't quote me on that, but from a layman's (laywoman's) point of view, the two seem very similar. We got our ramen to go, and everything was packaged nicely and securely, including the broth. Yujo offers curbside takeout, too, which is nice. I almost forgot: I also got a fruit tea boba: the Rose Garden. I got it on ice, without any sweetener or cream. It was great and refreshing. If you like floral teas, you will love this one. I haven't eaten a lot of Ramen in my day primarily because the stuff out of the package not great ingredients or taste. How, I was really impressed with the quality and the flavor. The place a cool modern bistro vibe will natural wood (like ikea) decor. Smaller seating area and some longer table style eating. Parking and access is easy and plentiful. Is in same strip mall with Kona and Daddy Jacks. It also nice that they seem to fairly transparent what the ingredients in the ramen and helps educate and dispel of the old myths about it (see pics) We ordered Spicy Ramen, Vegetable Goyza, Yuzo Signature Chicken, and Chicken Bowel. Especially the ramen soups are big serving and could easily serve two people. I saved half of mine for lunch the next day. Absolutely loved the spicy ramen. Most dishes come with egg halves that have slightly runny yolk. Ramen noodles were al dente. Both was flavorful and bold. It was very nourishing to my soul. This dish is "pork" based. There was a piece of back that I did not eat but provided great flavor. Spicy was a nice kick but definitely manageable. Vegetable Goyza were much like a potsticker. They lightly crips and not overly salty. Good crunch from the veggies inside. Yuzo Signature with chicken was much less spicy and equally flavorful. Think a nice chicken soup with an asian flare. My kids both split this and loved it. The chicken bowl has rice and corn. Chicken is expertly done with coating. The sauce on the dish is called house sauce. Tasty like a garlic aioli. Pretty decent ramen spot, but in my opinion there's nothing spectacular about the broth, noodles, or the way the meat is cooked. Mediocre and it does the job, but I do think there are better ramen places in town. Service was fast, friendly. More of a Chipotle-style ambiance and fast food vibe, but they do take the ramen to your seats. My daughter and I were looking for a Ramen restaurant we haven't tried yet this evening and we landed at Yujo after doing some research on Yelp. She ordered their classic ramen and I ordered their spicy option. We both ordered bobba tea for our drinks. Much to our surprise the food was out in minutes which is always appreciated. At most Ramen spots I feel like we are stuck waiting for 20-30 minutes for our food. We were both pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Ramen at Yujo. It's probably some of the best we have eaten at any restaurant across the United States. Considering we have eaten Ramen in Manhattan, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, and multiple spots in Carmel this summer, I'd like to believe we have a vast array of experiences to base our feedback on. It was an unseasonably cold night and the only thing that sounded tempting was a steaming bowl of porky, rich ramen. We decided to visit Yujo for the first time, wanting to try out a new ramen place and have a more casual dining experience. We arrived early on a Saturday evening and the place was well-packed with fellow cold weather sufferers. The environment is another elevated, fast casual spot, where you get in line to order at the register, are given a number, and your food order is brought out to you. Besides ramen, you can also select from a small plates menu, which contains mostly dumplings and fried foods (such as gyozas and fried Japanese-style chicken). I decided upon the black garlic ramen, which was a slightly creamy porky broth flavored with roasted, umami black garlic oil, jammy egg, pork shoulder (chashu), nori, and scallions. I added tofu and an extra egg, for more protein, as well as a spicy ball mix-in for a spicier punch of flavor. My customized ramen bowl was pleasantly unctuous and the portion was generous (I was unable to finish). My partner ordered the spicy miso ramen, which contained similar ingredients in a miso and spicy oil-based broth. I preferred the black garlic broth a little more, but both bowls were delicious. He also ordered the small plates of fried Japanese chicken (served with a spicy mayo and lemon slice) and pork gyoza, which were just okay (nothing mind-blowing). All Yujo employees were masked and friendly, and filled waters/beverages for customers (instead of allowing unfettered access to the drink area). There was an extensive boba and milk tea menu, with a lot of customizations. We didn't try out the drink menu, but noticed a lot of customers waiting on to-go tea orders. The only menu options that were lacking, was the availability of non-ramen, cold vegetable dishes. It would have been nice to order a side of fresh crunchy cucumber salad, seaweed, or something similar, to counter balance the rich, salty ramen and fried small plates. Stuck at home?! Yujo now offers delivery and takeout on the Yelp app! It was my first time trying them, but they had great reviews, a great health score and let's be honest, I'm always craving ramen. I went with the Yuzu Signature Ramen. Yuzu is in the lemon family, so it gave the ramen a *slight* citrus taste in the broth and was absolutely delicious. They also offer traditional ramens, bubble tea, gyoza (veggie or pork), and more. You can customize your ramen by ordering extra noodles, a side of corn, etc. I was impressed because when it was delivered, the broth was still piping hot and in a separate container for me to pour over the ramen. We came for breakfast next door and saw Yujo as we pulled into our parking space. I had forgotten they were here but I knew then I'd have to pop in for a boba tea after breakfast. Yujo has been open for some time now and is still fairly new to the neighborhood. The interior is clean, attractive, light, and airy space with lots of light woods, tall-top counter seating, and 4-top tables. As you enter go left and follow the isle way to place your order and the menu is on the wall. I didn't order food this time but the big bowls of ramen looked delicious. The menu options are 7 types of Ramen (Classic, Signature, Black Garlic, Spicy, Creamy Tonkotsu +) with 8 ramen toppings for an upcharge and 5 small plates (Gyoza, fried chicken, chicken bowl +). Basic pricing ranges from $10.50 - $13.50 and toppings range from $1 - $2.50 per item. I'm looking forward to trying the Spicy Ramen minus the soft-boiled egg. They also offer small and regular size Milk tea, Specialty Drinks, Fruit tea, and 4 different toppings (Boba, Aloe Vera, Herbal Grass Jelly, Egg Pudding) you can add for .50 per serving. I appreciate I can customize the sugar level to my taste. I do not care for super sweet drinks and many times the fruit is more than enough sweetness. I also got a chai tea milk boba tea. I appreciated the signage paying tribute to the origins of boba - Taiwan! I've been to Yujo many times and they never disappoint. I got the Tokyo classic is it was so tasty. Especially on a cold day this is the place to go. I've also tried their fried rice bowl which is another one of my favorites if you don't want a meal with broth. Their boba teas are also my favorites. I usually get the peach oolong with 50% sugar. My fiancé and I have been wanting to try Yujo for quite some time now. A cold Saturday morning seemed like the perfect opportunity to try some out! Our timing was perfect because Yujo was still offering their Devour menu for Valentine's weekend. This consisted of 2 ramens, 2 bubble teas, and an order of gyoza- for only $35! Even when this deal expires- a bowl of ramen cannot be best for $11.50 or $12.50 regularly. Some places will charge you $17-18 for less than what you get here at Yujo! My fiancé ordered the black garlic ramen, I ordered the Yuzu signature and we shared the pork gyoza. We then ordered our bubble teas- I had the milk sugar & my fiancé ordered the earl grey. After ordering, you're given a number and you may so wherever you'd like- the order is brought out to you! The teas came out first. Our food only took about 8-10 minutes if that to be brought out! Both ramens were extremely delicious! The broth and noodles are what makes a great ramen- and Yujo has gotten both perfected. We're glad we went with the recommendation of the wonderful worker behind the counter telling us that the top 3 ramens are the first 3 listed on the menu- definitely agree with that! The gyoza were some of the best I ever had, great flavor and the sear that comes on them gives just enough crisp! The portion size of the ramen is definitely enough to leave quite full. The fried chicken is also a MUST to try in my opinion. The breading on the chicken is delicious, and the sauce served with it only makes it taste that much better. At Meet Noodle @ Castleton Square, for the same price, there was fish cake, more meat, more noodle, corn, and etc; this location you have to pay for more topping. The jasmine milk tea with boba was delicious, but the boba could be better in terms of sweetness. It is a quick serve restaurant at which you order from the counter, fill your own drinks, and they bring the food to your table. Ramen lives or dies by its broth and I can say the broths here are excellent. I tried both the classic soy sauce broth (Tokyo Classic) and the citrus-infused (Yuzu Signature) chicken/pork broth. An overcast day and I was in the mood for something warm. My search for a warm bowl led me here. Making my way up to the counter to order, the space is brightly lit with simple tables for seating. I opted for the pork gyoza and the creamy tonkotsu. The gyoza is perfect for sharing - it is lightly seared and has the perfect crunch. The ramen... wow. The broth is thicker, with deep flavor - a slice of pork, half an egg, seaweed, slivered mushrooms- all intermingle with the noodles. It was one of the best bowls of ramen I've had. Its quite silly that a place so loved by our family hasn't been reviewed by me yet! They have a petite menu but everything is done well. The staff at counter are always helpful and patient and have asked us questions that have stopped us from ordering the wrong(to us) thing! First thing though - they have one of THE best gyozas - tightly packed, with no "empty pockets" in wrapper, full flavored with crispy bits. Amongst our many visits we have tried 5 different kind of ramen and Black Garlic and creamy Tonkotsu are my favorites. I hadnt ordered Creamy Tonkotsu early on thinking it had diary but as per them, none of their ramens have dairy! Their teas are probably the best in town in my humble opinion. Mango hojicha, Rose Garden, Lychee green tea and Brown sugar Genmaicha are my top favorites...I usually order 50% sweet and thats perfect for me, however I do dislike how much ice the teas will have unless you order less/no ice. I would prefer less ice automatically to not water the tea down and hence have regretted the purchase anytime I have forgotten to mention less ice. The Ramen was amazing! The pork perfectly tender. I ordered all the food without Nori, only because I'm not a big seaweed fan. The broth was so flavorful I added some to the chicken bowl as well. Some reviews say the chicken bowl is a small portion, I think they must have changed it since those reviews, since mine was more than enough for one person. If you're staying at the Dury hotel across the street Yujo is your best bet for a quality meal. Truthfully, I consider it a 3.5 but picked 3 over 4 because people who love ramen should not go here expecting 4.5 star ramen. The noodles are generic and the tonkatsu broth's flavor just isn't as robust as standout places. I was happy with the other ingredients and encourage others to add more toppings to their ramen.
