On Memorial Weekend 2026, both my daughters and I were on a food adventure at Redlands Public Market (RPM). We parked for free at 101 W Stuart Ave. Just a few minutes walk from the parking structure to market. Take caution when walking across the train tracks. We first walked around the entire market from one end to the other end to get an idea of all that are available. I've been to RPM in the past, but it was both my daughters' first visit. Our food adventure first began at Shrimp Corner. As for our 2nd stop, Yugo Shokunin was chosen! They are fairly new to RPM because they weren't here the last time I was at RPM. Menu is quite simple with appetizers (i.e., gyozas, karaage, takoyaki), entrees (i.e., candied fries, fried chicken katsu, poke bowl, pork belly hero, match tonkatsu), and drinks (i.e., various sodas, water). I find some of their entree items to be quite unique almost like a twist to the original. We didn't have much interaction with the staff because we ordered via kiosk. Easy to manuever through the screens. Ordering and making payment was simple. Receipt was sent over to phone number entered. Got our order in less than 10 minutes. Cool! RPM has shared seating areas inside and outside. We were still eating at Shrimp Corner's low bar seating area so we just brought the food over. Broth was savory with just a hint of matcha. Pork belly was moist and tender. Noodles were firm and not soggy. Chicken karaage was lightly fried with good flavor over huge chunks of chicken meat. My youngest daughter gave them two thumbs up on the ramen and chicken karaage. She's a picky eater so this speaks volumes. Although she wished there were more chicken karaage pieces. Maybe offer a choice of 4, 6, or 8 versus only 4. Just a thought. Well, that concludes our second stop at Yugo Shokunin. Located inside Redlands Public Market, what drew me in was the katsu fries I was about to order when I saw Matcha Ramen with chasu pork. Ordered the ramen I didn't add anything to it so I could taste it in its purest form. Just the broth itself has an incredible umami flavor it's not thick or watery just the right consistency. Then the noodles are perfectly cooked and they also have their own flavor. Then the pork has its own flavor as well and together the ramen is incredible. The egg was ok. The portion is ok, I thought it needed another piece of pork and more veggies so the soup doesn't look empty. I also don't like hot soups in plastics and everything is plastic, it's a waste when eating there. We just throw it away. read more

Came here for opening weekend and was excited to check out this spot. This place replaced Jojo's Kitchen (the Taiwanese restaurant). They were out of the fries rice, so I got the Matcha Tonkatsu ramen. I looking forward to trying this new take on a classic ramen flavor. It was about $19-20 including tax. Since it was opening weekend, I also got a free Iced Matcha. Order only took 10 min to receive. The Matcha Tonkatsu Ramen was bland and that was due to the broth. I could not taste matcha nor pork in the broth. The rest of the ramen was great. Noodles had bite and the other toppings (egg, green onion, corn) were good. I will say the tonkatsu was amazing. Very flavorful and juicy. In my opinion, the broth makes or breaks ramen so I would not get that again. The Iced Matcha was great! Strong matcha flavor and was refreshing! It was amazing to see them grilling their meats. I may come back to try the fried rice or a meat dish. I think that may be a better choice! read more

This is very high restaurant quality food yet you can get it in a quick serve format. So fun! We had the chicken Katsu, the Ramen and the chicken Karaage and the gyoza and they all were super flavorful. How lucky is this community to have such a high-quality food provider in a quick serve format. We really loved it. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen. I think the broth could be more flavorful since I was expecting more of a miso taste but instead it tasted watered down. On the bright side, the meat for the ramen was delicious! It was packed with spice and flavor, and the chicken was tender and juicy. Ordered their chicken kaarage entree, chicken was dry and missing sauce that came with it. The salad served had good flavor. Also got their pork belly an employee recommended the curry and charged but didn't come with my order also missing the egg. My kids and I were very excited to come back and ordered again the yuzu shio. We came back after 2 months. Oh my, it was a very big disappointment... i was surprised my kids said they didn't like the ramen because any ramen they will devour. I tasted the broth & they changed how they cooked it. The flavor is indescribable. It was like a combination of sour-flowery taste. Very bad. I had the Ramen. The noodles were on par with boxed ramen noodles. I think I've had better boxed noodles. The broth was alright, could've saved the day but given that it was quite light, can't recommend it. If you want good ramen hit up SoSoGu. read more

One of the best chicken katsu I've ever had. The crunch, the size, the flavoring was all on point. I came with a few friends for lunch for their grand opening and all the food looked amazing. The prep and placement of the food in their boxes was great and came with utensils, chopsticks and the dipping sauce inside. I will definitely be back again to try something different. read more
