Parking here is like being in the hunger games. Good luck to those who go in this plaza area. This restaurant has good prices for a few of their food items, $9.90 and you could choose two items from this section, and since my friends wanted to go here, I thought I'd give it a whirl. We ordered: mapo tofu, poached chicken, and snow pea leaves with garlic. I really liked the mapo tofu and the snow pea leaves but the poached chicken wasn't the vibe for me. I don't know if it's the rubbery chicken skin or that there wasn't much meat inside that did it for me. I just wasn't a fan of it but my friends were happy to have more of the chicken since I only ate one small piece. There's a lot of seating inside and they even have a room separated by a door for small parties. The service was okay, I did have to flag down a staff for the check and to order more items later on.

half roasted duck

Went here on a Thursday night and was seated right away. It's a decently sized restaurant with nice decor. I ordered the garlic pork belly, half roasted duck, and fried rice. The pork belly was a bit tough, but I really liked the chili oil it came in. The roasted duck was tender but not super flavorful in my opinion. I also expected the portion to be larger. I still enjoyed it but expected a bit more. The fried rice we order took awhile to arrive. We were pretty much done with the other two dishes by the time it arrived. Regardless, it was pretty good, so it was worth the wait. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would come back to try other items on the menu.

Beautiful fancy Chinese restaurant. Everything was delicious! The service was top notch. Food was so good. Only thing is that this place is expensive. They bring out these tiny dried napkins. When they pour water on them they grow and expand. Very cool. Excellent dining experience. HAPPY CHINESEING!

I was lured here by their $9.90 grand opening specials, where you can choose up to two of their four dishes - a fantastic deal! Yueyan is the rebranding of Jiang Nan, a NY Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. They may have changed ownership, but much of the menu remains the same. The restaurant has an upscale decor, with prices reflecting an elevated dining experience. We ordered the seafood fried rice and mapo tofu. Both were delicious - the fried rice had a lot of seafood and the mapo tofu had that numbing effect from the Sichuan peppercorns. We also got some pork soup dumplings, which were good (the sauce it came with was sweet, which was a little strange) and beef chow mein. Service was very attentive. I wish the grand opening special prices were permanent because I would come here regularly!

Saw this new restaurant and decided to try it because of their grand opening specials. Their $9.90 specials are such a great deal! It's limit 2 per table and you can combine it with their other multi-person set menus. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The service was attentive. The fried rice looked disappointing when it arrived but actually tasted great. We'd order it again next time! The pork belly and cucumber cold dish was very delicious and had a nice flavor. The greens were too tough. The boiled spicy fish was really good. Overall a yummy meal and I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area. It's conveniently located next to 99 ranch market and Tesla chargers.

$30 seafood tofu with $10 worth of ingredients just terrible
Chloe D.

Im not sure what happened to previous restaurant but i still wanted to try. Got this $30 seafood tofu pot and i have no words for it. The ingredients are probably cost $10, the fake crab, salty tofu, the frozen peas and carrots the shrimp is just so bad compared to the 5 stars restaurant looking ambiance omg....

Delicious food with friendly staff They had a busy restaurant and lots of families in the dining area It was a festive and lively atmosphere Bathroom needs more attention regularly. It was a mess in both bathrooms. Cleanliness is important especially around food Overall it is still a good spot to bring people for a meal

Great Chinese food! We went for the Peking duck and had a few other traditional Chinese dishes. The place is family friendly with options for our toddler and even gave a toy to entertain him

Mapo tofu without pork

We called in same day, to make reservations for our large group, and they were able to accommodate. Servers were on top of it. Very friendly service. Easy to use tablets to order food, at each table were helpful too. Ordered string beans, braised eggplant, and mapo tofu without pork. The string beans were so flavorful, and well cooked. The braised eggplant was as expected, good with rice. The mapo tofu had an interesting fruity taste, per the spices used.

Pork Soup Dumplings

Great Chinese food spot! My favorites were the green beans, sweet and sour pork, and the honey walnut shrimp. The green beans were super flavorful with a nice bite to them. The sweet and sour pork was crunchy and sweet without being overly sweet, and I'd say it's pretty similar to orange chicken. The honey walnut shrimp was another standout. The shrimp were huge and had a really nice batter to them. Overall, all the dishes we ordered were solid. It is on the pricier side, though. We went on a Sunday night and ordered a couple of beers, which happened to be buy one get one free. I'm not sure if that deal is tied to a specific time or day, but our server mentioned it. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. If you're planning to make a reservation, it's best to give them a call!

Jiang Nan is a new family favorite for Chinese food in the Irvine area! They call themselves fusion but I find it to be quite authentic. The vibe is more modern than an old school Chinese restaurant. They can get pretty busy so reserve a table ahead of time if you have a large party. There are a ton of tables on both sides of the restaurant but they do tend to get quite busy, especially during Asian holidays. Some stand outs are the steamed whole fish and my personal favorite - fried tofu with seafood - which comes with a mini table side show! I also really love the fish maw chicken soup bc the kabocha squash makes it a little sweet and really creamy. The peach gum dessert is also delicious. I never had it before dining here and now we have to get it every time we visit! Perfectly not too sweet and the texture is really fun. The servers are really kind, patient, and truly want you to enjoy your meal. It can be a little slow during busy times. Jiang Nan took over the old Sam Woo in the plaza across from the Arbor. Lots of parking spots but any native Irvine-ian knows how terribly tight the lot can get with all of the competing restaurants and 99.

Lan L.

A great new spot in Irvine for family meals and gatherings. The private dining room was comfortable, service was attentive, and there was plenty of parking, which is a huge plus. We ordered one of their combo sets and a few $9.9 specials, and everything was fresh and generously portioned. The vine pepper fish was tender, the white chicken was juicy, and the overall value was impressive. We'll definitely be back with family and friends.

Not too much table service because it's more of a quick service type place. I do wish that entreees came with white rice, you do have to order that on the side. But overall, really good!

The lamb skewers were juicy and perfectly seasoned with cumin, and the grilled beef tendon skewers had an amazing crispy, chewy texture. The soup dumplings were full of flavorful broth, and the braised beef knife-cut noodles were chewy with large, tender chunks of beef. We also tried the beef paomo for the first time--it was warm, comforting, and packed with rich flavor. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and after chatting with the staff we learned the owner is from Xi'an, which explains how authentic everything tasted. Extremely Disappointing Experience - Service Has Gone Downhill…read more I've been coming to Everspring for quite some time and have always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, the quality of service has declined significantly, and my most recent visit was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. There were no clean tables available, and I had to sit at a table with used utensils while the surrounding tables remained dirty. My order took over 30 minutes, and I could see my food sitting out unattended. When I approached the manager for assistance, I was completely ignored. I eventually had to ask a server to check whether the food sitting out was mine. By the time I received my order, it was cold. If you look at my review history, I generally leave positive feedback and always try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, this experience was unacceptable. It's disappointing because the food itself is genuinely good, but the service and lack of attention from management have overshadowed that. I've included photos to document my experience. Sadly, I won't be returning, and I can no longer recommend this restaurant to friends or coworkers. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously because customers deserve better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful as I didn't know anything about biáng biáng noodles. After looking through the menu I decided a hot bowl of beef noodle soup would be perfect for the cold cloudy day. I also got a cucumber salad on the side that paired perfectly with the hot broth. The noodles in the soup were so soft with a perfect amount of chew. The broth had some sesame in it that gave it a creamy appearance and rich flavor. The beef chunks were nicely seasoned and cooked. Half of a hard boiled egg, cilantro, radish, and green onion rounded out the dish. I went with a medium spice which was perfect but I could've handled more. Next time I'll try it spicier. The cucumber salad was cold, crunchy, and fresh with a perfect kick on the back end. All in all a nice random lunch at a new spot I had never been to. I will certainly be back to try the biáng biáng noodles and their Asian burgers which looked intriguing!

First, we found…read moreout the restaurant is changing ownership, so there are a few things worth noting about the current dining experience. Some menu items are being discontinued, my rice came out cold, and a few of the decor choices seemed a little tacky. Meizhou is a great option for special occasions because the interior feels upscale and is one of the nicer-looking restaurants in the area. Today, we ordered the Sichuan Cold Noodles, Vegetable Fried Rice, Angus Beef Filet With Black Pepper, Chicken Pot-Stickers (six pieces), Dongpo Pork Belly With Preserved Vegetable, Garlic Stir-Fried A Choy and white rice. Unfortunately, the white rice came out cold, almost as if it had been sitting in the refrigerator. Thankfully, our server replaced it immediately, but it was still an odd experience. My favorite dish here is the Angus Beef Filet With Black Pepper. The meat is high quality, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. Meizhou is also well-known for its duck. We didn't order it today, but the half duck is always another great option! The meat practically melts in your mouth, which is one of my favorite things about it. Service has always been hit or miss here, so I think your experience really depends on which server you get. I love the food overall, although some dishes feel overpriced for the portion sizes. That said, the quality of the food is generally great. One last thing I noticed today, which isn't a huge deal but stood out to me, was a cup in the women's restroom containing a hairbrush, toothpaste and a toothbrush for customers to use. For a restaurant with such an upscale atmosphere, this felt a little out of place and tacky. Overall, Meizhou is definitely worth trying if you love duck or are looking for a nicer restaurant for a special occasion. I still enjoy the food here, but I'm curious to see how things change under the new ownership!
