Everybody were friendly, polite and professional. We first heard of Dr Ma from word of mouth from other parents who had gone through doing braces with their kids. Dr. Ma has a good reputation around the lexington area. Her work is good and she is thorough with details and the fitting process of retainers. Braces is one of those thing that forces you to have a long term relationship with your dentist, as the process takes a long time. It is important to weight in a lot of other factor (can you work with the dentist and staff at the office in the long run, communication, how well they listen to your concern, care and attention to details..etc) rather than just upfront cost itself when selecting your dentist. We can't say for other dental procedures but for the cost of braces related procedures, we think Dr. Ma is very compatible with most reputable dentists around this area.

I will start by saying, Dr. Varallo has a great chair side manor, and is very personable, but that doesn't make up for what has happened. I am being as detailed as I can be as to warn others to really, really do their research. Midway through the projected treatment time I started to get nervous. I constantly had to remind him what my "end goal" was and once I got a comment of "Oh, I would have done things differently from the beginning if I knew that".. My goal was clear at the beginning. When we were almost done treatment I was told that my bottom teeth were done.. While still being very crooked. If I didn't mention anything they would have been left like that! I, with no dental training, had to ask for a bracket reposition, Thanks internet! At this point I was very unhappy and afraid I wouldn't be happy with my results. I confided in the assistant multiple times to let her know I was not happy. (Please note that my anger is with the office manager and Dr. Varallo.. The assistants that I have personally worked with, Ashley and Sandra) were really kind.) The braces were removed and I made it clear I was pretty unhappy, (so much so I teared up when I saw them without the brackets on for the first time) with the results and nothing was said or done. Literally nothing. I thought I was just being a little picky, but Fast forward to a trip to my regular dentist for a cleaning, I was asked if I had finished my treatment with Dr. Varallo... My crossbite (effects my TMJ) and midline were never fixed or even attempted to be fixed. My front six teeth are uneven some being higher than others, and now after nearly two years I am starting from square one again. When I expressed how unhappy I was with the office manager she let me know Dr. Varallo went over "the limitations as to what he could do". I was then told by Denise (OM), that Dr. Varallo would not see me during business hours and if I wanted to talk about it, I could go in before the office opened, or during a lunch break, but those times were not an option for me at all, as they were in the middle of drop off and pickup for school. I have now been to a few orthos in the area and have gotten consults and exams. ALL of them have said more could have been done to get a much better outcome not only cosmetically (my main goal was to widen my smile and I was told unanimously that more could be done while Dr. Varallo said no more could possibly be done) and to fix my bite. I am back at square one and about to start treatment again. *Edited to add, Dr. Varallo never reached out or acknowledged that I was upset or dissatisfied with my outcome. NOT ONCE. Owning a small business and knowing first hand how word of mouth is really how you get business, that shocked me. And he seemed like such a nice guy who genuinely cared. After he was informed of the yelp review, he sent an email asking if my niece was going to continue her treatment here after "I lost trust in his practice" he then smugly offered to refund HER entire treatment cost while not mentioning a thing about to try and make things right with me. He did not even apologize or try to make it right. I sent a follow up email and it went unanswered. He did this knowing I had seen other orthos and have to redo treatment. I am willing to share all other orthos findings and new treatment plan privately with anyone who wishes, as I hope that this beer happens to anyone else. As an adult patient, I can not even begin to tell you how stressful this whole process was. From taking tons and tons of time off work (I was told at my consult they were open mornings, then found out they don't do morning adjustments those are for "long appointments", to now having to hire a lawyer to get my money refunded so I can go spend another two years fixing issues, I am not only frustrated, but could be out well over $6000. I truly, truly urge you to get multiple consults and to think on this decision as it could be extremely costly and time consuming.

I don't know where to begin to explain my wonderful experience with Dr. Melita. I searched for the…read moreperfect orthodontist for almost 5 years and I'm beyond happy that I found Dr. Melita right when I was about to give up. The reason for my hesitation was the multiple crowns (one being very visible) in my mouth along with the crowding issue I had. I am opposed to pulling healthy teeth out to make space without first trying to make it work with the existing space. Not even once did Dr. Melita try to change my mind about this nor even later during the treatment did she bring this up ever. She respected it wholeheartedly that I could feel it every time we would talk about next steps in making space to move the teeth around. Another reason why she is be the best Orthodontist to me is is that she worked with my crown so well that I never thought it would look this good to be honest. During the treatment, she allowed for me to go to my dentist to get a temporary crown to reflect the actual position of my teeth to make sure she gets them to the actual positions they need to be as close as possible. Not even once during the treatment have I felt rushed. It felt as if Dr. Melita was giving me the care that she would actually give to her own self. I don't know how I can actually convince anyone via words without knowing me to go and at least have a chat with Dr. Melita but I can tell you this much; I became a bride with braces as I was THAT happy and comfortable with them. I had the option to remove them for the wedding but didn't even bother. And it was Dr. Melita who offered to take them off so I could have my pictures without braces. I can't imagine a single orthodontist ever offering that. Little things matter along with the major PART of getting beautiful results. I took my braces off almost 3 months ago and still waiting to get my permanent crown put on. During this process I'm still in touch with Dr. Melita's office frequently and even after finishing the treatment you must see how much they still care for you to make sure you get on the schedule as soon as possible. I never laughed or smiled as genuinely as I do now and I can't thank enough to Dr. Melita and everyone in her office for making it happen. You make all the waiting worthwhile.

Don't think about the whole picture when she treats you. 2. Don't have expert knowledge. Can not answer patients' questions well. 3. Do very poor operations, rush, rude, and disruptive. She did implants for a patient twice and failed twice. Patients easily get infections after her treatments. 4. Cheat patients to do unnecessary treatments, like insert more implants than needed, do root canal for teeth just need fillings. 5. Behave like patients' master instead of a doctor. Keep letting patients follow her instructions without asking any questions. 6. Don't have any compassion for patients. Can do things to hurt patients for money. 7. Force new patients to do full mouth X-ray in the first visit. I found her license records in New Hampshire, which shows she has a Disciplinary Action. It's about a malpractice to a patient about extracting teeth and the following implantation. This clearly shows she has a bad history of teeth treatment, and was restricted by the board of registration. Any complaints can be sent to board of registration, so the doctor will be punished and restricted.
