Everything here is extremely transparent and professional, from the front desk to the dentist and hygienist. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a dentist to give them a try. First of all, I wasn't sure whether my insurance would cover the dental expenses, the front desk staff carefully reviewed my insurance and explained the coverage breakdown step by step. I've visited four dental offices in the past year, and no one else has ever done this, all of the other front desk I spoke to brushed off these questions and only tried to persuade me into buying more of their services. Second, my hygienist, Samantha, genuinely cares about her patients. She did my cleaning in a super gentle way, and she kept asking me to let her know immediately if I felt any discomfort during the process. Last but not least, Dr. Liu examined my teeth, noticed some bleeding, and suggested a partial deep cleaning only if necessary. This was by far the fairest advice I've received. At other offices, the first recommendation was always a full deep cleaning. Overall, my experience at Beacon Family Dental has been outstanding! Their transparency, professionalism, and genuine concern for patient comfort truly set them apart from other dental offices I've visited. Be careful of billing fraud!…read more I visited Beacon Family Dental a month ago for re-cement of my implant. Because they were not sure whether insurance would cover re-cement, they charged me $236 onsite for the full price of re-cement and promised would refund me if the insurance does cover it. A week later I received statement from my insurance showing they did cover most of the re-cement. I waited for another month for the refund but didn't receive any, so I reached out to the dental office. I am attaching their response below. The last message sounded very unprofessional and rude to me. To justify no-refund, they then resubmitted an additional claim for implant maintenance and charged $315. However, they never mentioned this service to me before, not to mention "told you insurance won't cover it". They charged me upfront $236 which was the exact full amount they submitted for re-cement but nothing else. I never requested for or was aware of the "implant maintenance service". It sounded like a makeup thing they came up later to deny the refund. Very disappointed at the staff's dishonesty.

If you go here check your bill carefully, they overcharge even when you have insurance. The Doctor is great, but apparently is just an employee and the business management over charges for services. The best-reviewed offices do not take new patients, and the ones who do have very polarized reviews. And Yelp Reviews are often out of date for new dentists (in old offices). So I am thrilled to find this office in Medford (easy, free garage parking). It's worth driving 15 min. The office staff (Beth) was terrific - quick, efficient, courteous, helpful - I found an appointment to do a filling to fix chips within the week. She helped to check insurance. She reminded me to transfer X-rays. And on the day of the appointment, Dr. Qu was great. He is honest, direct, efficient, and does not "up-sell" anything. His work is very meticulous and he has "steady hands" if you know what I mean when it comes to dentistry. The filling (on the front teeth) are better than any I've had in this area. The billing was immediate, clear, and I decided to switch to this office after the first visit, even though it takes 15 min longer to get to. In case you are interested, the way to properly pronounce Dr. Qu (the office just call him Dr. Q to spare people the trouble) is a combination of the CH in "Cheese" and REE in "Tree" - Ch-Ree. However, if you just say "Dr. Tree", you are already about 80% close to the original pronunciation - not bad at all! And for anyone who might wonder but are embarassed to ask, Dr. Qu speaks perfect/native English. So don't let that hold you up.

Since then, I have been evaluated at another dental office and diagnosed with a condition requiring a root canal in that exact area. What is most concerning is not just the differing opinions, but the lack of communication, consistency, and accountability. I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Anya Rost. I originally went to Dr. Rost for…read moreimplants so I that could receive a fixed bridge. Unfortunately, one of the implants was placed in the wrong tooth position, specifically #6 and #5. Implants should have been placed in #6 and #3 as was the original contract. This made it impossible to proceed with a planned bridge. I had to undergo additional procedures and pay for another implant. Even after doing so I still have a space in the back of my mouth after the teeth were placed. This has resulted in significant cost, time and stress. I wish the planning and placement had been done more carefully from the start as it has long lasting consequences for my dental treatment options. Patients considering implant work may want to ask detailed questions about planning and positioning before proceeding.
