From my very first visit, I was surprised at how little time the dentist spent with me. That only got worse over time. One filling turned into the most painful, drawn-out dental procedure I've ever had--and it wasn't even a complex one. I also raised concerns about teeth grinding and shifting, and was completely dismissed without any real discussion. I left that appointment feeling brushed off and unheard. Scheduling was another major issue. They couldn't accommodate a standard six-month cleaning schedule, booked me eight months out, and when I asked to be put on a cancellation list, they never followed up. Then they canceled on me two days before my appointment. At that point, I gave up. It's clear there are some kind and well-meaning people on staff, but my experience with the dentist and overall care was disappointing and, frankly, frustrating. I'm moving on to a new provider.

I didn't know whether the woman who cleaned my teeth was a hygienist or a dentist. If she wasn´t a dentist, then I never met a dentist, not even to give a quick look. I was in and out very quickly and I felt as though I hadn´t had a cleaning. Will not return.

As an octogenarian with complex medical issues, I needed to have two molar extractions under conscious sedation..As I requested, Dr. Amimi arranged for an anesthesiologist with her, who monitored the sedation. They were both accessible by phone before and after the procedure and the office staff was very friendly and helpful. My only disappointment was how expensive it is to have an anesthesiologist added to an already expensive procedure , but the procedure itself and the attention of everyone involved was excellent.

Now, all four top teeth have root canal issues, and the cost to fix this is over $20,000. On top of that, he used an intense light that left dark spots on my lips after drying the glue. It seems he did all this intentionally, with these problems only becoming apparent years later. I recorded all my visits and can provide proof if necessary. Dentist. Lindgren falsely claimed I cursed his staff, which is completely untrue. If I had, I would ask him to specify exactly what was said and to whom. I urge him to do the right thing. This behavior is unprofessional and immature. Dentist. John Lindgren and his wife, both highly educated and quick to defend themselves, seem skilled at deflecting criticism rather than addressing the real issues at hand. Despite their credentials, their behavior throughout my treatment was unprofessional and disrespectful.

We actually live in Brookline and do not have a car, so the fact that we still decided to continue all the way into Newton via Uber/Lyft, when we could have continued with any number of dentists in Brookline, should be a testament to how great this practice is. Dr. Orenstein is the first dentist I have had who spends more than just a few seconds talking with you. He is very empathetic, and will work with you to come up with a reasonable plan for treatment and for preventative care. He is always very patient and takes the time to address all concerns. Probably of utmost importance to know before visiting a new dentist, he is honest and trustworthy, and will not try to push anything not medically necessary or anything you are not comfortable with. Additionally, his dental hygienists and front desk staff are all top notch, warm, and easy going. With the preventative care advice and coaching I received from Dr. Orenstein and the hygienist who saw me (I unfortunately forgot her name!), we came up with a plan together that substantially improved my periodontal health, and got my teeth and gums into the best shape they have been in several years! I would highly recommend Dr. Orenstein to anyone new to the greater Boston area, or anyone looking for a new dentist!
