I will start by saying, Dr. Varallo has a great chair side manor, and is very personable, but that doesn't make up for what has happened. I am being as detailed as I can be as to warn others to really, really do their research. Midway through the projected treatment time I started to get nervous. I constantly had to remind him what my "end goal" was and once I got a comment of "Oh, I would have done things differently from the beginning if I knew that".. My goal was clear at the beginning. When we were almost done treatment I was told that my bottom teeth were done.. While still being very crooked. If I didn't mention anything they would have been left like that! I, with no dental training, had to ask for a bracket reposition, Thanks internet! At this point I was very unhappy and afraid I wouldn't be happy with my results. I confided in the assistant multiple times to let her know I was not happy. (Please note that my anger is with the office manager and Dr. Varallo.. The assistants that I have personally worked with, Ashley and Sandra) were really kind.) The braces were removed and I made it clear I was pretty unhappy, (so much so I teared up when I saw them without the brackets on for the first time) with the results and nothing was said or done. Literally nothing. I thought I was just being a little picky, but Fast forward to a trip to my regular dentist for a cleaning, I was asked if I had finished my treatment with Dr. Varallo... My crossbite (effects my TMJ) and midline were never fixed or even attempted to be fixed. My front six teeth are uneven some being higher than others, and now after nearly two years I am starting from square one again. When I expressed how unhappy I was with the office manager she let me know Dr. Varallo went over "the limitations as to what he could do". I was then told by Denise (OM), that Dr. Varallo would not see me during business hours and if I wanted to talk about it, I could go in before the office opened, or during a lunch break, but those times were not an option for me at all, as they were in the middle of drop off and pickup for school. I have now been to a few orthos in the area and have gotten consults and exams. ALL of them have said more could have been done to get a much better outcome not only cosmetically (my main goal was to widen my smile and I was told unanimously that more could be done while Dr. Varallo said no more could possibly be done) and to fix my bite. I am back at square one and about to start treatment again. *Edited to add, Dr. Varallo never reached out or acknowledged that I was upset or dissatisfied with my outcome. NOT ONCE. Owning a small business and knowing first hand how word of mouth is really how you get business, that shocked me. And he seemed like such a nice guy who genuinely cared. After he was informed of the yelp review, he sent an email asking if my niece was going to continue her treatment here after "I lost trust in his practice" he then smugly offered to refund HER entire treatment cost while not mentioning a thing about to try and make things right with me. He did not even apologize or try to make it right. I sent a follow up email and it went unanswered. He did this knowing I had seen other orthos and have to redo treatment. I am willing to share all other orthos findings and new treatment plan privately with anyone who wishes, as I hope that this beer happens to anyone else. As an adult patient, I can not even begin to tell you how stressful this whole process was. From taking tons and tons of time off work (I was told at my consult they were open mornings, then found out they don't do morning adjustments those are for "long appointments", to now having to hire a lawyer to get my money refunded so I can go spend another two years fixing issues, I am not only frustrated, but could be out well over $6000. I truly, truly urge you to get multiple consults and to think on this decision as it could be extremely costly and time consuming.

My daughter's teeth went from snaggly and weird (teeth growing on top of teeth) to perfect in just a few years. His price was fair, his payment plan workable, and his rapport with kids and parents just an unbelievable thing to experience. When I asked him one question about one wire, his eyes lit up and he said "Do you want to see?" He led me back into the lab and showed me all about making braces. I have been a patient here for about five years and sadly, I've been going to see flaws with service: the staff seemed to be eager to "sell" services Villa recommendations and even borderline scare tactics. Unfortunately, I recently had an experience with a dental cleaning that caused my lingual retainer to become loose, and then the doctor acted like he could respond, but his effort led to a loose retainer within a couple of weeks. When I went back in to get a permanent crown placed, I pointed out that his previous attempt wasn't sufficient. He then made it seem like it was my problem to deal with the retainer and told me to remove it and get a pop in overnight retainer instead. When I told him I'd already tried that, which led to the permanent retainer, he told me he could refer me to an orthodontist, and, typically they didn't make repairs in the office. In the past, I had the permanent retainer pop off on the end and the previous Dentist at the office fixed it efficiently and the same day I had the problem (about 4 years ago) and it's still intact. I really hate that not only did he set expectations poorly about fixing the mistake caused by his hygienist, but then he walked out of the room , leaving the subject unclear/unresolved and then told me I had to deal with it via orthodontist. In addition to this problem, my husband also has commented that the newer hygienist was rough with him, he felt like he was being handled like an animal. I'm now questioning my swap all those years ago to the local office instead of driving to Waltham for care. the administration team has been responsive in trying to come with resolutions and I hope my review can be updated in the near future.

She didn't want to remove my braces before my wedding as she promised before the treatment. She asked me for more money without any reason.
