I've had my permanent retainer for 4 years before one side of my wire came popped off, which impeded my eating. I couldn't go to my orthodontist because he is based in California, so I called around to multiple orthodontic offices in Somerville and Cambridge area. Cambridge Orthodontics was able to get me an appointment within 5 days of my call, compared to other places that offered appointment slots a month out from when I called. I appreciate that they understood the urgency of my situation and tried to get me in at the earliest time possible. The visit itself was nothing short of a pleasant experience! From the staff members who aided with different parts of my procedure to Dr. Samadani's consultation, everyone thoroughly explained to me what they were doing every step of the way. Dr. Samadani was especially thoughtful in explaining the different options I had for my permanent retainer. Frankly, my biggest fear was going to an orthodontist's office that I am not a regular at and be ripped off. I was on guard that they would tell me to replace my entire permanent retainer rather than repair just the broken part. Dr. Samadani was really honest about the state of my permanent retainer and I felt that she suggested the most practical option for me moving forward. I truly appreciated her honesty and integrity most about my experience with her.

Dr. Lin patiently explained his thinking behind the treatment plan he would pursue with each daughter and helped me understand why. The cost for the treatment was also reasonable and they were able to start us right away. After having a rather awful experience with another office in this same town, I was a bit nervous coming this morning. However, given how kind and professional this office was I signed on my older daughter right away and will plan on bringing my younger one when her time comes.

As an adult patient, getting braces was not on top of my fun things to-do list. However, from the moment you walk in to the practice, you are treated like a part of the team as the staff always greets you by your name and make every visit an enjoyable one - even when they are tightening your braces! Dr. Lin is patient, professional, caring, personable and very thorough. He cares about his patients as individuals and ensures your questions are answered thoroughly. The man knows his stuff! Went to have an upper right rear molar removed. I was pretty uncomfortable. I was able to get an…read moreemergency visit within three days which I thought was great. My tooth was so extremely loose that I could've pulled it on my own I did try to and then I felt one little like tendon that was still attached and it made me nervous not to try to pull it on my own. I was at the appointment for I would say minimum 10 maximum 20 minutes sitting in the chair between one x-ray I think two shots of Novacaine, which I'm sure wasn't even necessary realizing how loose my tooth was as a matter of fact, the hygienist or assistant that was there during suctioning said that he told her to stop because she pretty much almost suction the tooth right out. That's how lose my tooth was anyway when it was determined that my mouth was numb enough not that he even really asked me. He just took it out with his hand in one quick motion and one second literally. I was relieved until I got up to the desk and I was told that A I would have to pay upfront and my insurance would reimburse me but that wasn't the worst part of it. I was told it was $525 for the visit, I was there for maximum between checking in and checking out a total of 30 minutes in their office. I cannot imagine how they can possibly justify charging $525 !!!! Before I left, they did say they would try to submit my claim and see if they could get reimbursed and let me know what my co-pay would be but I still cannot get over the $525 charge As if that was bad enough now mind you this was the first time I've ever been to this office when I got home I would stay within a maximum of 3 to 4 hours after my visit. I get an email from the office asking for a donation because they're doing some kind of back to school purchases they just charged me $525 from being in their office for 30 minutes from start to finish and now they're asking me for more money Also, as I was sitting there, I saw someone coming out of the office, their charges were $295. I saw someone else come out while I was waiting. I think it was $150 for a whitening treatment for their teeth so while I was there in the short time, these are the charges that I heard just in the short time that I was there. Another note, I think their office is set up very uncomfortable in the sense that there's no privacy when you're talking about your bill or your situation or your issues or concerns I would never step foot back in this office. Both Dr. Harrington and his wife Dr. Fallon (as well as the rest of the office staff) are some of the nicest people I have genuinely ever met. They are a couple of the only Dr.'s that I have ever come across that you can tell right away genuinely care about their patients and their dental care. They take the time to explain everything up front, whether it is necessary or not, and exactly what will be covered by insurance. This is one of the few places I have gone to where I've never felt that they were trying to "up sell" me on anything that I didn't need done. I have referred several friends here and will continue to do so and go here as long as I live in the area!

Dr. Maria Moser attempted to do a tooth implant on me. I say 'attempted' because it was botched-…read morethe abutment part was too big. She even said this right out loud, in surprise, as the procedure was getting underway. She went ahead however and tried to put the thing in anyway. As she tightened it into place I almost screamed and fainted; this was far and away the most painful experience I've ever had, in a dentist's office or outside of one. The pain didn't let up and five days later I had her take the abutment and crown back out. She put me on a course of antibiotics to try to stop any infection from the obvious swelling that had begun (see the picture). I rejected her offer to try the whole procedure again, this time with a "tissue punch", and had the botched part redone by a dentist who'd been voted the 'Best in Boston'. Dr. Moser never apologized or expressed remorse and of course never refunded the thousands she charged me and my insurance. I'm currently pursuing legal action against her and filing complaints with the local and state licensing boards.
