They even extended the operation hour to later evening to accomodate people who work during the day . But I have noticed the billing and charging of our insurance seems always been a hiccup. Many years we have been receiving medical billing statement mailed to us with amount we don't think is correct, after making phone calls to their billing office, we were told it's just an estimate cost not final charge, so I was always confused why they have to send the statement to us at the first place, not only it's time consuming but also caused confusion to patients. Recently I have to order night guard , I checked with the dentist and was told it will be cover up to 75 % percent by insurance. Upon receiving the product, I went to make the payment at front end receptionist without thorough checking I was asked to pay a lot higher than what I was told. I asked the receptionist to double check, within few seconds she confirmed I was right and charge me less, I was shocked and confused about the process of charging patients there, shouldn't more cautious be exercised like my case? what if I forget or didn't remind her to double checked then I will end up overpaying. Once the work was completed the price was $272.00 more than what was quoted. I spoke with the billing department and explained what was quoted and what I agreed to pay. After several phone calls back and forth and checking with the Dr. they agreed to the price that was quoted. I was also told that they didn't accept my dental insurance because it was out of network and the work wasn't covered, therefore, I paid the (quoted) balance due in full. Today, I received a bill from them which showed that they billed my dental insurance the $272.00 and the insurance paid $177.60 with a balance due of $94.40. After speaking with the billing department again, they said that my son was over 18 years old and that he approved the work that was done. I explained that I was the one paying for it and I went with him to the consultation and approved the work, not him. They kept telling me that it was a 2 step process and that's why they charged me the extra money. I had to remind them again that I received a quoted price from the Dr. and if it was going to be more money than what was quoted, they should have included it in the initial quote. Today after going through this ordeal again, they said they would credit my account the $94.40 but still received $177.60 from my insurance which was more than what was agreed upon. Make sure when receiving a quote it's for all the work that needs to be done not just the first step.

Over the years, I've encountered numerous dentists who seem to recommend unnecessary and costly procedures solely for financial gain. My most recent experience with Chestnut Hill Dental at 631-A VFW Parkway in Chestnut Hill was particularly disheartening. I chose this dental practice because they were within my insurance network. I had recently undergone a root canal performed by an endodontist on one of my molars, and I needed to replace the temporary filling (which had been placed by the endodontist) with a permanent one. Both the endodontist and my former dentist had recommended a specific filling with the dental code D2391. I reached out to my dental insurance company, and they informed me that the contracted fee with dentists in their network for this procedure was $160, and my out-of-pocket cost would be 25%, amounting to $40. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Prasadini Shetty at Chestnut Hill Dental for the D2391 filling on my molar. However, upon arriving for my appointment, I was informed that they intended to perform a core build-up, which they quoted at $278 as my cost, with the remainder covered by insurance. I reiterated my request for the D2391 filling. A core build-up is typically recommended when the tooth's structure is weak and a crown needs to be done on the tooth. In my case, I already had a crown on that tooth. The endodontist had skillfully performed a root canal by drilling a small hole through the crown. After some persistence, they finally agreed to proceed with just the filling. At this juncture, I became increasingly uncomfortable with their insistence on an unnecessary and costly procedure. For the filling, they requested an upfront copayment of $49, even though my insurance company had assured me that my payment should only be $40 (25% of the contracted fee of $160), and I had already met my deductible for the year. Their explanation for the $49 figure was perplexing. I insisted on paying the $40 as advised by my insurance company, indicating my willingness to cover the additional $9 if my insurance determined it to be necessary after billing. However, they continued to press for the $49 upfront payment before proceeding with the procedure. It became evident that their primary focus was financial gain rather than the well-being of their patients. Fortunately, I recognized their true priorities before committing to any further treatment. Furthermore, I was dissatisfied with the condition of their facility, which was located in a damp, enclosed basement with noticeable rust spots on the ceiling.

To begin, they moved my appointment multiple times until finally, I could come in on 2/15/25. When I arrived, they did the usual cleaning and exam. The doctor who had looked at my teeth told me several things that didn't feel right: - I need to remove my baby tooth eventually - I have 4 cavities that need fillings - I need a crown on my back tooth. What is interesting is that, I have been going to the dentist my whole life. I have never been told I need a crown (that the calcium was not built right as a baby and therefore needed a crown) or that my baby tooth would need to be removed. I have known I have a baby tooth for my whole adult life. It's genetic, and I have never had a dentist tell me that it will need to be removed eventually. In addition to showing me all of my "cavities" on a little tv screen with a camera, I was also encouraged to buy $22 fluoride toothpaste, and that I need Invisalign. I immediately switched back to my previous dentist.

Initially, Dr Gronovsky corrected a previous dentist's error, and I was very pleased. After that,…read morethat was it! I had an accident at work, which left me with a broken bridge. I was informed that she does not accept workers' comp. So, I paid for the bottom bridge myself, which had fallen out three times. She even tried to charge me for that on the third time. I refused, saying that it should not have fallen out in the first place. When the bridge was finally complete. I had a metal piece of the bridge sitting proud above my left canine that could be seen. I had an appointment and asked Dr Gronosky to grind it down. I later found out that she had also ground down a part of my tooth too! On one occasion, after seeing the hygienist, who had informed me that two teeth required crowns. I had made an appointment to have one of the crowns done. Dr Gronovsky did a different tooth, which took hours to complete, so long that I was offered a restroom break between the next and final part of the crown, and she apologized to me for it taking so long. She did not explain that it was a CERC crown. I only found out later when I asked the receptionist, and Katherine was able to find out and inform me. The crown was not the same color as the others. One of my worst experiences was when I required a new upper partial. Despite giving her the upper partial I was wearing (I had an older spare upper partial that I wore while the other was being made), because I wanted an identical one made. I was left with an upper partial I could not wear. Despite bringing this to her attention on a couple of occasions, she was shown the problem with it, and it was clearly visible, but she did nothing about it. I will now have to go to a new dentist to have all of her work redone.
