definitely would not recommend for children. they do not consider the patient's full history or perspective.

However, she is…read morealso, in my opinion, overzealous and, in my case, did work and also recommended major work that did not need to be done. I had a history of no new cavities in at least 25 years, but each time I came to see Dr. Murray, she found teeth that she said needed filling or old fillings that she said needed to be replaced. I chalked this up to aging teeth and paid the bills, but when she found a "cavity" in a wisdom tooth that she said she could not fill, she recommended I see an endodontist about removing one or all of my wisdom teeth. This was the third time she or the dental hygienist had recommended wisdom teeth removal, though it was the first time she found a "problem" with any of them. Her recommendation seemed drastic, so I sought a second opinion with another reputable dentist, who found no cavity on the tooth. Months later, after x-rays and a thorough exam, he still found no issues with any of my wisdom teeth and also has, after a year, found no new cavities. He's now my dentist and I'm very happy with work he has done so far.

Dr. Murray and Team are all about communication, about what? Everything!…read more I am so pleased with the amount of time, attention and communication this office has invested in me as a "new patient". The initial "new patient" consult had me worried, I though that Dentist was going to be a judgy sales person, to my surprise, it was quite different than I had anticipated, not the opposite, different. The DIFFERENCE is that the Dentist, the business owner and manager of your teeth, inspects them fully. She carefully and painlessly pokes, prods and investigates. After a good inspection and mugshots of your teeth, she proceeds to present the evidence to you, allowing for questions in between. Pictures are worth a thousand words, color pictures, not conveniently vague X-ray's showing not much but your toothy mouth and grey areas. I was convicted, the pictures allowed no excuses, I needed help. Dr. Murray and team have treated me with the utmost care and dignity. They have alleviated my anxieties about the cost of the dental work I require. Wendy the manager thoughtfully laid out everything for me to see. She made clear indications what WAS covered by my insurance and What was NOT, very accommodating. There were no end of world scenarios. Simply put, fix what YOU can when YOU want, no pressure, just upfront service. BONUS- I have a temp crown, fell off today, Dr. Murray popped it on, same day-no charge, then wished me a good Thanksgiving. WOW!

I'm 22 years old, and I have been to 5 or 6 dentists in my life before coming to Dr. Gavelis for…read morethe first time today. I had a huge cavity pop up out of no where, and was able to schedule an appointment with him the same day. I went in, and was immediately put at ease by his and his staff's professionalism. Dr. Gavelis explained to me, what he was doing, stream of conscious style, and why, which put into perspective the factors which caused the cavities. Additionally, one thing I hate is having Novocaine injected into me, because more often than not dentists rush shoving the needle into you, or use to much (multiple shots). He was able to hit two teeth with Novocaine in one injection, and unlike other dentists, I wasnt numb for HOURS afterwards, clearly Dr. Gavelis' is well practiced and experienced. I usually dread going to the dentist, but I can honestly say that I could go to a dentist appointment with Dr. Gavelis and my anxiety level would be much less than with any other dentist. Additionally, according to my mother, he has the most modern equipment in the area. I was also impressed with the time and attention he dedicated to treating my dental issues. It took him about 1.5 times as long to do a filling as any other dentist I have had, but it was clear that he was much more patient, and careful then others. Its pretty clear that you get what you pay for as far as dentists on the north shore are concerned. Dr. Gavelis made sure that my cavity was completely free of decay before filling the cavity by using a dye to highlight miniscule amounts of decay. As a result, this filling will last much longer than other's because Dr. Gavelis made sure he removed of all the decay, which otherwise, even if a minsicule amount was left, would come back, erode my tooth, loosen the cavity and require it to be refilled, costing more.

Very thorough cleanings by competent hygienists, and I very much appreciate Dr. Adriene's approach and manner - she is straightforward, but willing to 'keep an eye' on a situation. In the past dentists generally criticized my teeth and recommended fillings "to avoid" situations. In the 7 years I have been coming to LeClair they have not upsold me once, and haven't pursued a single filling (wow!). My teeth are doing well. I moved away from beverly over 5 years ago, but still make the trek back every 6 months for a cleaning.

One of the fillings did not feel right and felt infected. I went back not once, not twice, but three times. On the third visit, they redid the filling. I had zero relief. They referred me to an endodontist. It turned out I had a raging infection, and I needed an emergency root canal. Then, I needed the crown placed. Adrienne used all of her force to place the crown on my tooth. In my head, I thought this can't be normal. Due to the level of force, a large chunk of cement was stuck between my teeth. Adrienne "flossed" it out and told me to keep flossing until it came out. After the horrible experience, I found a new dentist (who, by the way, complimented my teeth on the first visit!). In the meantime, LeClair was difficult when it came to sending my records. The crown tooth was still bothering me. It took over A YEAR of visits for the dental hygienist at the new practice to work out the cement. If she hadn't gotten it out, I would have needed a new root canal. They have to redo one of Adrienne's fillings, and the current dentist said, "You don't need a dental degree to see that this was not filled properly." Looking at some of the other reviews, I am not alone in my sentiments. Go to Martins Dental in Beverly or Northern Star Dental in Danvers. Both are excellent practices.

In stark contrast to so many other dental practices, there is never any upselling of unnecessary procedures. In any situation, I trust Dr Dano to pursue the *right* course and correctives, not the most expedient or the most profitable.
