I've been meaning to leave a review for years, as LeClair is the best dentist I have ever found (of about a half dozen). Very thorough cleanings by competent hygienists, and I very much appreciate Dr. Adriene's approach and manner - she is straightforward, but willing to 'keep an eye' on a situation. In the past dentists generally criticized my teeth and recommended fillings "to avoid" situations. In the 7 years I have been coming to LeClair they have not upsold me once, and haven't pursued a single filling (wow!). My teeth are doing well. I moved away from beverly over 5 years ago, but still make the trek back every 6 months for a cleaning. read more

At my first dental cleaning, Adrienne LeClair made me feel horrible about my teeth. That should have made me run and never return. But I did. I proceeded to have some fillings redone. One of the fillings did not feel right and felt infected. I went back not once, not twice, but three times. On the third visit, they redid the filling. I had zero relief. They referred me to an endodontist. It turned out I had a raging infection, and I needed an emergency root canal. Then, I needed the crown placed. Adrienne used all of her force to place the crown on my tooth. In my head, I thought this can't be normal. Due to the level of force, a large chunk of cement was stuck between my teeth. Adrienne "flossed" it out and told me to keep flossing until it came out. After the horrible experience, I found a new dentist (who, by the way, complimented my teeth on the first visit!). In the meantime, LeClair was difficult when it came to sending my records. The crown tooth was still bothering me. It took over A YEAR of visits for the dental hygienist at the new practice to work out the cement. If she hadn't gotten it out, I would have needed a new root canal. They have to redo one of Adrienne's fillings, and the current dentist said, "You don't need a dental degree to see that this was not filled properly." Looking at some of the other reviews, I am not alone in my sentiments. Go to Martins Dental in Beverly or Northern Star Dental in Danvers. Both are excellent practices. read more

Dr Adrienne LeClair' needs to polish her bedside manner a bit. Not only does she explain nothing, she will just walk in, grab her tools, and start jabbing away while she gives you commands in a very unpleasant way. The worst experience with a dentist I've ever had. Adrienne LeClaire did an evaluation, and coldly told me that I needed thousands of dollars of work as I had neglected my own dental care. I never disputed I had avoided going to a dentist for some time, but making a patient feel tremendous guilt when they finally do reach out for help is not a compassionate approach. I ended up in tears, and the attitude was "I got what I deserved..." I found another dentist who was sympathetic and supportive, and never looked back. read more

I had my elderly father driven to Leclair Dental with a nursing home staff member. Dr. Adrienne LeClair met him with a smile and took him right in. She had a cancellation so he wasn't even scheduled. He usually gets nervous at the dentist but came home happy and not in pain. He had a cleaning and extraction. He doesn't say much but the staff called me afterwards to give me a full report. Many moons ago and many states away, in college, I had a dentist who I actively looked forward to seeing - I felt they really listened to me, excellent care was offered but extra options never aggressively pushed, etc. And 20 years later I finally found another one! Both my husband and I went in for cleanings, which for a new client is actually a visit spread over two appointments - one is an intake where they take photos of each individual tooth and talk you through them (if you want; I wanted) and get a good sense of your current state and needs, and then the second visit is for the cleaning (and, presumably, additional work if you need it). Every staff person I interacted with, from receptionists to hygienists to the dentist herself, was just absolutely wonderful. Friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and patient. Very happy to have found these guys. read more

This is my first Yelp review! I can't say enough about LeClair dental. My family gas been going there for over 20 years! Dr. Donald Leclair is amazing. His staff is super nice and they always greet you with a smile, asking how college is, how your family is...they remember everything. He is extremely professional and explains every detail to you. You don't have to worry about what he is doing or when to expect a poke. He daughter Adrienne has joined his practice and she takes after her father. I feel safe and well-looked after. They are also very enjoyable to talk too (or do sign language when you have a mouthful of tools!) The waiting room is newly updated. Lastly, I have minimal dental insurance and there prices are very fair even though I would pay extra for the stellar service. If your in the area I highly highly recommend you try them! read more

I had recently moved to Beverly and booked an appointment for a cleaning. The doctor came in, introduced herself and asked why I was there. I told her a cleaning and an exam. She said she didn't have time for a cleaning. I said " don't you have a hygienist do that?" She said all of her hygienists were busy and she had to leave in 30 minutes. I was upset, I said I would find another dentist. She said she would do a quick cleaning when she saw I was upset. She told me I needed several crowns. I told her my job was furloughing and my insurance would be ending. She replied " Everyone should be able to afford at least one crown a year." I did not go back to her. Six months later I found a new dentist that told me I didn't need any crowns, only a new filling to replace a cracked one. Beware of dentists doing the hard sell with crowns and telling you you will need root canals if you don't do it. This woman was strange. read more

I came to this practice because of the raving Yelp reviews, but after my experience with Dr. Adrienne, this is just one more dentist that doesn't know what she's doing. I wanted to trust her so badly because she's very friendly and positive, but I now have 2 fillings and a root canal that are 100x more painful than before I got the work done. I don't know if she just didn't add any medication to my teeth or what, but her only solution is "Well you probably need another root canal then." which is an ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE not to mention painful way to problem solve especially when you can't even fill a root canal properly. On top of their shoddy work, their receptionist was the rudest human being I've ever witnessed. During my first appointment, my 1st impression was her gossiping about other patients in the waiting room. Then when I tried to leave their maze of an office, she laughed in my face for accidentally following the assistant into the break room instead of the waiting room. Since it was my first visit, I assumed the assistant was guiding me back to the waiting area instead of letting me figure it out. This woman needs to realize how she's representing herself and her practice. I don't care how weird or smelly a patient is, don't let your patients hear you talking smack. I only wonder what she said about me when I left! All in all, find somewhere else to take your pearly whites. Recommendations are welcome. read more

This is a wonderful office to visit. The hygiene staff is super friendly and Dr. Adrienne clearly knows her stuff. What I like the most is how comfortable the staff make the patients feel. I have been a part of Dr. LeClair for several years, after going to several different practices in Beverly. His practice focuses on prevention, education and treatments that look to long term dental health. He currently is coordinating my treatment with 2 other dental offices (oral surgery and orthodontic). My clinical needs are complex and I feel Dr. LeClair has collaborated with an exceptional team of clinicians. His relationship with his staff seems professional and cooperative. I especially appreciate his attention to the importance of cosmetics. Yesterday I went in for a cleaning and had concerns about some staining on my front teeth. When I left, Sommer had done such an exceptional job my teeth not only felt great, I they shined! While I was there I took notice of the upbeat attitude of the staff with the patients and each other. Both Dr. LeClairs (father and daughter practice) are extremely friendly, gentle, and patient to cater to my husband and my own fears and dental needs. My husband is deathly afraid of the dentist, and Dr. LeClair took the time to make him comfortable, gave him some headphones to listen to music and even watch tv while he had procedures done. They have state of the art technology there with individual screens/tvs at each chair, so you can either watch what they are doing on the screen or watch tv to distract yourself. We have been going there for many years now and after many root canals, fillings, and cleanings, we couldn't be happier with the service we get. I'm a brand new patient, after my dentist of 30+ years retired. The office is friendly and nice, the waiting area is comfortable with a couch, loveseat, two armless oversized chairs, and two smaller wooden chairs. Dr. Adrienne is knowledgeable, cordial, and thorough. I was very happy with our appointment. My appointment with her was within a week of calling, so it was easy to get and strictly routine. They were able to get me in for a cleaning quickly due to a cancellation, but they book them far out so be prepared to wait a bit if you're new to the practice. My "scheduled" cleaning before the cancellation about 3 months away. My cleaning was great, super nice hygienist, and now I'm booked in for 6 months without any issue. Next week I'm going to get a couple of very old fillings replaced. There was no pressure to do this, but after seeing them and having Dr. Adrienne explain the options, it makes sense to be proactive with them. read more

I am a pretty nervous patient when it comes to dentistry, and because of that, I try to do a lot of research before going to a new dentist. I feel very fortunate that I ended up in the hands of Dr. Adrienne LeClair. I went to Dr. LeClair for a second opinion on a wisdom tooth extraction, and she took the time to explain to me in depth (1) all of my options, (2) what the potential outcomes were down the line of choosing any of those options, and (3) what she recommended I do. She also took the time to answer all of my questions, even the redundant ones, and she definitely went above and beyond what I normally expect from healthcare professionals to ensure that I understood and felt comfortable enough with the information to make the decision that was right for me. I was recently referred to LeClair Dental after going to a large chain dentist. I moved to a job with dental benefits and had my first cleaning and exam in a few years. I was a bit concerned that I would have work that would be overdue and was afraid it would cost me a fortune. I was right. The office I went to suggested several repairs and procedures as well as a "deep cleaning."   My friend who lives in Beverly suggested I use her dentist for a second opinion. I met Dr. LeClair for a consultation and exam and I am lucky I did. She agreed I had a few things that should be taken care of but also told me that about 2/3 of the list could be put off to a later date. She was able to show me the problems that need repair and also explained why most of them do not need to be fixed right now. Donnie is the crafty, veteran southpaw who always has a good story to tell. Adrienne is the dependable young apprentice who is wise beyond her years. You can't go wrong wrong with either of them. I have to leave a review, because I love this office and the staff so much!! I had absolutely crippling dental anxiety thanks to an awful experience with a dentist years ago, and Dr. Adrienne made it all melt away in our first appointment. I would actually shake with anxiety just hearing someone say the word dentist, so this was SO HARD for me to do, and I'm so glad I did!! She was very thorough, let me know exactly what my issues were and how we were going to address them. I had some work done later that same week, and I felt no pain and recovery was a breeze, and it was done so quickly! I had a cleaning today with Rachel, and she's the absolute best! Unprofessional and distracted while working on my mouth. Spent the entire appointment gossiping to her assistant about other people including her staff members that were not in the office. Wanted to like Adrienne since she turns on the charm for the first couple appointments and the location is convenient however after a few appointments I found her to be a very arrogant and unprofessional. It is appalling how this business operates. If I could give this place 0 stars it still would be too many. Last I checked I am a different patient from my husband. Your business failed to disclose it's practices regarding cancellations and rescheduling. Your incompetent staff members agreed to set an appointment for me that was a "place marker". My husband stated that this might change because he needed to clear it with me. This appointment ultimately needed to be rescheduled due to dealing with 3 meetings regarding my AUTISTIC SON. I later arrived at my rescheduled appointment only to find that Le Claire dental had cancelled my 7:30am appointment. I made arrangements with my job to be there on the day and time scheduled. I appreciate you wasting my time. LeClaire dental claimed to call my husband and left a voicemail about cancellation. That voicemail was NEVER received.YOU NEVER CALLED ME TO VERIFY YOUR CANCELLATION OF MY APPOINTMENT WITH ME. YOU ALSO HAD MY CONTACT INFORMATION, including my phone number and address to inform me well ahead of time of any changes to that appointment. Your behavior was cowardly and point blank dismissive. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Not only is your business run with incompetent staff. Your response to this post is joke. You had to LIE to "save" your business. She went through a picture of each of my teeth and explained what she was looking at. It was the most thorough appointment I've had in all the states I've lived in. I visited LeClair Dental a few months ago while visiting family in the area. (I am a military wife currently stationed in Japan, and I was in desperate need of a dental check-up.) I was fortunate to have a great cleaning with Rachel who made my visit actually enjoyable and fun! I had to return for a few fillings with both of the dentists. Dr. Adrienne had me laughing the entire time! Her upbeat personality was very much in contrast to dentists I have seen in recent years. Dr. Don LeClair was great as well. As he was my childhood dentist, it was nice to see his familiar face. There's Dentist and then there are Artisans who are passionate about their craft, the LeClair Family Practice I can tell love their craft. That's the impression I got. So I haven't gone to the Dentist in 15 yrs (I may have lied a tarnished white lie, its more like 15+ years), and I was very apprehensive since lets face it after 15 years I have bad teeth, and its not easy to be judged when you have bad teeth, not to mention the tiny sharp instruments that make me slightly nervous. But never fear, this place put me at ease, I felt like I was in good hands. Everyone was very pleasant and professional and very clean. The equipment and gadgets were very high tech, I'm an Engineer so I was checking all that out and was in awe. The Doctor and Hygienist was very patient and took care in giving me lots and lots of information, even showing me the best flossing technique which is all still sinking in. Must say it was information overload but in a very good way as they took time and care in explaining everything. This place is so good, I don't know whether to keep it a secret or spread the word, talk about an oral dilemma :-)?!?!?!!!! read more

I adore Dr. LeClair! I live on the west coast and saw her for emergency services while visiting MA a couple of years ago. She is exceptional and even caught some things that my regular dentist had missed. I have consulted with her ever since for all important dental matters. We brought our 2 year old to LeClair Dental for her first dentist appointment. The office was recommended to me by my boss, who brings her kids here. The hygienist Kaitlin was excellent. She was so good with our daughter and explained everything she was doing in age appropriate terms. She also gave my daughter choices (which flavor of toothpaste to use, which color toothbrush to take home) which goes a long way with a toddler. I really felt that this office is well equipped to handle children. We left there with a sticker and a prize too! read more

I have been going to Dr. LeClair since 2007. I hadn't been to see a dentist in 11 years at that point and was terrified! I explained this to him and his staff, and they treated me with respect and courtesy while also keeping my needs in mind. He was able to help me overcome my fear of the dentist, and I am so grateful because now my mouth is healthy and I am no longer afraid! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have been avoiding the dentist for 8 years out of fear. It came to a pint where I didn't have a choice anymore. Having moved to this area a few months ago I needed to find a dentist close, I chose Dr. Adrienne LeClair. BEST DECISION EVER!!! I had to have a filling re-done in the area that novicane (SP) was so painful this is the reason I have not been to a dentist in so long. Dr. LeClair is so amazing the injection was NOTHING.
