We were in need of some hot soup and veggies after a long trip and experience at Tomorrowland, so when we finally arrived in Amsterdam, we looked up places near our hotel. Turns out Yuan's Hot Pot was highly rated and close enough for us to Uber to, so we gave it a shot. We came at somewhat off hours, near 2pm, and there was no wait at all for even 14 of us to come in. You order off a tablet, as most hot pot restaurants do now. There are several special combination orders, so be sure to check those out before you start ordering individual items crazily! They have a sauce bar, but no snack bar here. Broth was nice and soothing, and had good flavor. The meat here was pretty good as well, alongside their skewer options that were pretty tender too. Price wasn't bad, around $27 per person - definitely credit to the special combinations! Overall, a solid spot if you need some hot soup!

No trip to Amsterdam is complete without a meal at Yuan's Hot Pot! This was my first time to this location as I was staying in Schipol. It was a 15 minute drive, so not too bad. Fortunately, I made a reservation earlier that afternoon for a party of 3; I recommend making a reservation through their website ahead of time. We ordered the half spicy and half tomato base soups and went to town on the ordering! Each table is provided a tablet to order each item, along with appetizers and drinks. Everything is reasonably priced and all the ingredients are fresh. The sauce bar is fully stocked and gives you a lot of options. The restaurant is busy, but the staff is very friendly and efficient. It is noisy, but not so much where you can't have a conversation. I highly recommend coming here if you enjoy Chinese-style hot pot!

Can't imagine that I would find an authentic hot pot place here in Amsterdam. The food is very good and the spiciness hits home. The lunch special was economical and offered a great value. Overall a good place to stop for lunch after a day of sightseeing.

This is worth a visit when nearby. Make a reservation. Super friendly team works here. Prices are fair for Amsterdam. It's a fun thing. Everyone was in a good mood here and the Chardonnay was delicious too. I would suggest making a night out of it and not plan anything after - since you're going to be sitting in front of a hot pot for at least an hour. But surprisingly, our clothes or hair did not smell when we left.

Worth waiting 40 minutes for a table on a Friday night. I love a good hot pot and Yuan's did not disappoint. Lots of different broth, veggie and meat options. Despite it being busy, our server was always checking on us to make sure we were doing okay.

A fabulous hot pot place in Amsterdam. My son comes here regularly and suggested we try it. It's a fairly big restaurant with gas stoves on each table and a tablet for ordering your food. They have a nice options for vegetarians and vegans as well. The broth is mild or you can make it as spicy as you choose. The variety of items to cook are also great and the flavors are first class. Loved it very much. Prices are reasonable and staff are nice and friendly. I love a good hot pot and this is one of the best ones I have been to in Europe. Happily come here again anytime :-) great quality ingredients and good friendly service.

    Very busy!

Really excited to write the first review for this restaurant on Yelp. If you would to tell me that I will find one of the best hotpot restaurants in Amsterdam, I would never believe you, but that's what happened! I was in Amsterdam for work and discovered this when looking up Chinese restaurants. When I dined here, the restaurant had just been open for 8 days. It was a Saturday night, and there was actually a line to get seated. One of the owner is from Chengdu, she told me this has been their busiest night since opening. The store apparently is a chain in Chengdu and there is a store in Vancouver Canada, but this one is individually operated. Having used to waiting a long time in the bayarea for any good restaurant, it didn't bother me at all. After eating here, I told the owners to open a store in SF be bayarea right away! The good: Broth and ingredients are excellent, especially the broth, it was very distinctly Chengdu, they have their own packaging (imported from China chain of the same name) for the sauce and each person gets a small sesame oil can to go with rest of the dipping sauce, very strange consider there is a full sauce bar. The "chuan" in the name indicate the sticks in which many of the meats and vegetables get skewered onto, they thread each ingredient onto a long toothpick stick, very reminiscent of those fishball stalls in Japan and Korea. The meat ones are seasoned almost like Mongolian BBQ, except you dunk them into the broth instead. The sauce bar was amazing, whatever chillies they put in one of the bowls made all the difference. The bad: Given it's their 8th day open, I won't knock it too hard, but after waiting 50m to get seated, it took another 30m to get the pot onto my table. The waitresses that aren't Chinese, don't speak English all that well either. So a few times they brought out the wrong stuff or just very uneven service. The ordering is all done using an iPad, cool but inefficient. Also forget about getting water, you have to order a beverage, there is like no water, totally bizarre. I don't think I have ever been to any restaurant where they don't serve water to its customers. Lastly it's very expensive compared to even the most expensive hotpot restaurants in the US. You can expect to spend €40-50 per person, because they cut everything into small pieces it adds up very quickly. I wish they would only do that concept for the meats, but not the other ingredients. Overall though I would still very much recommend it, the food was delicious!!!

so if you don't know the hat part places it's basically later give you a boiling hot pack in front of you full of probably need some spicy irregular and then you add meeting on the other things you've ordered on the menu. We did calamari mussels and beef and lamb. Is life all we ordered vegetables when they think that's a total waste cuz there's a served ran around with soup. and it's waste by to hear that mate I thought it was going to be but maybe they're not really pay attention of that. The beers were cold and all we had a Chinese beer and it feels like this but the fridge five minutes ago. a fun experience Hollywood do it again I'm not sure if they have these in America not check it out.

It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

The balance of flavors was exceptional--the tangy, spicy kick of the kimchi paired beautifully with the sweetness of the corn, while the shrimp added a perfectly tender, savory touch. Their menu is impressively large and the dining room is small but inviting. Prices are quite high, but you are in a tourist area. We ordered a Kung pao chicken and a chicken fried rice to share. We both had a very weird 'chemical' taste that would occasionally occur with the Kung pao but neither of us could figure out what it was. The chicken fried rice was fine but contained very little chicken. My house white wine at 4.5 was fine as well as hubby had a Heineken. The biggest issue was the many Gnats that just descended on us once our wine arrived. If you zoom in on the picture, there were quite a few just hanging out after our plate we removed. We have been to many restaurants since we arrived here and this is the first with this issue. It got even worse once our food arrived. Very irritating. Service was just ok. We were here at a weird time because we are very jet lagged and trying to get on the time zone (needed dinner early). The staff were having their dinner so we felt a bit of a nuisance. Bill was about 50 euro.
