    Lychee martini and beer

When the Asian food cravings hit... this place delivered! After weeks of traveling around Europe, I was so ready for a flavor change. My husband found this Bib Gourmand Chinese restaurant -- it's actually a floating restaurant near Amsterdam Central Station, which already makes it pretty unique! The decor was classic and ornate, full of traditional Chinese touches I honestly didn't expect in the middle of Amsterdam. We were seated right away at a lovely window table with tons of natural light and a beautiful water view -- perfect for watching boats and canal cruises drift by while we ate. We started with a couple of drinks and a pot of hot chrysanthemum tea, then ordered Mapo Tofu, Eggplant Clay Pot, and Yang Chow Fried Rice. Everything hit the spot and totally cured my Asian food cravings. I'd say the flavors are about San Francisco suburban-level good -- not quite SF Chinatown-tier, but definitely solid. A strong 4 out of 5 from me! Outside it was cold and dreary, but inside we were cozy, sipping hot tea and digging into spicy Mapo Tofu -- pure comfort. Now, about the price... let's just say, they'll remind you you're in Amsterdam! What would've been a $50 meal in the States came out to around $130 USD, but honestly, for that warm, satisfying moment, it was worth every bite.

I highly encourage you make reservations as this place is big, but it gets busy. The restaurant is huge. It's on the water. Their menu is small, but I am sure everyone can find something to their liking. You do have to order on your phone via the QR code on your table. They do have free WiFi. The food is brought out to you by a waitress. They don't all come out at once. Once you are ready to pay, you have to flag down your waitress so she can bring you your check. The food is meant to be shared, but we only shared the spring rolls. We got our own dish. The spring rolls are vegetarian and bigger than I expected. They weren't as crispy as I like them though. I ordered the fried noodles with shrimp. We asked for some chili oil on the side to put in our food. It was a very good dish. It is big enough to share if you wanted to. It did only come with about seven shrimp. For my drink, I had a lychee Mojito. I recommend this drink.

The sea palace was an amazing experience. The food is absolutely delicious, hence their Michelin star. They surrounding views are beautiful. I think we bought half of the menu because the food was so good. The drinks were tasty we were entertained by some of the service robots, taking dirty dishes to be washed. The place is rather large, but can book out. I recommend making a reservation online as soon as the calendar opens.

One of the most beautiful restaurants ever Floating restaurant on the canal right outside of our Doubletree hotel Amsterdam. Came here on May 26, 2024 at 250pm, as they had no reservations available 4pm-8pm. Incredible ambiance, with detailed Oriental decor throughout, including glittering gold designs on the walls. Our first time here was for dim sum in the middle of the afternoon. Ordered from a QR code on our cell phone, using restaurant wifi limited to the premises. The usual: BBQ pork buns, sticky rice, XLB, pan fried dumplings. Shrimp fresh, tasty, average portion sizes, and average prices once you consider that a 21% value added tax and tip are included in the price. Second time came for dinner at 8pm, and had the won ton soup and fried noodles with shrimp. Also ordered a Fanta orange, which has a fraction of the sugar of the American Fanta orange. Cheaper than bottled water. We ate on the second floor with splendid views of the palace across the canal. Patrons on the first floor were served by mechanical robots. How do you flag down a robot for the bill?

Reservations are recommended. We went without reservations and waited only 45 min for a table but went on a Tuesday evening. We passed the time at the bar-drinks were good. I hade Jasmine hot tea. A friend of mine had a lychee martini. The hostess was efficient but extremely curt. Wow...the view is spectacular. There were families and a good mixed crowd of casual and business casual attire. Dim sum and Spring pls as an appetizer. We had 4 pork shrimp steamed dumplings-each dumpling was large and took 3 bites to finish. Lots of meat. We enjoyed the appetizers and they thankfully came out hot-yay! Mains: spicy Szechuan beef and pork belly. We were disappointed. The Szechuan dish had a thick layer of oil that was off putting to the dish. It also wasn't that spicy. The pork belly was mediocre. We recommend using the appetizer menu as a tapas main course. This restaurant is not Michelin star'd-I believe it's Michelin recommended-don't quote me on that, investigate for yourself. Clearly the food critic didn't order the Szechuan dish.

The restaurant is in a desirable location overlooking the waterfront. We enjoyed the soup and Shumai but did not like the chicken with noodles. There was a wait because we did not have reservations, so we sat at the bar for a drink. The service was okay but they have a strange ordering system. You sit at a table and order the food online. No one brought water or inquired if we wanted anything to drink. No crunchy noodles for the soup or fortune cookies for dessert.

Pork with some sauce. It was good but the meat was kinda tough

The resto is right outside double tree hotel. It is a floating Chinese resto and upon entering, I saw this is a Michelin star for 2024. We were seated right away and ordering was done by using the QR code on the table. Food was delivered by a robot, stopped close to the stairs and was finally taken to our table by the servers. Food was really good but pork was kinda hard. service could be better too. We were done eating but Our server never came back to check on us and he passed by our table multiple times. Do we flag them to get the bill? Seriously, he can tell we were done and luckily, another server came to take our empty plates and we asked for our bill. Then she sent our original server to take our payment. Will I ever go back? Nah. Food was expensive too. White rice didn't come free with the main dishes as well

The location is enchanting, floating right along Amsterdam's canals. The three-story building, with every corner, beautifully reflects elements of China . The front attendant was kind enough to allow us to stay and wait for our table, even though we arrived late for our reservation. All the appetizers and main dishes were delicious. However, the timing of the food delivery could have been better. For instance, the spare ribs arrived about 10 minutes before the side dishes, like the noodles and fried rice, and the Kung Po Kai came 15 minutes after we had finished our other plates. As a result, we ended up having to take the Kung Po Kai as a takeaway. The ambiance was pleasant, though slightly loud, which is to be expected in such a large restaurant.

This place was fantastic. The staff was great but I did think food was slightly overpriced. Instead of 4 dumplings, you get 3 and a normal amount for the table is at least 4. That's the main reason for 4 stars. The food was good and views were fun too. It feels like one of those old reliable restaurants that you can't go wrong with, so if you're in the mood for comforting, warm dumplings and rice with veggies - add this to your list!

Was craving Chinese food in Amsterdam and heard about this floating restaurant. Tofu hit the spot although you could probably skip ordering the soup dumplings. Really nice view of the water from inside!!

Make a reservation. They don't answer the phone so go online in advance. However the food is amazing and the serive is great. Jonathan was our server. He was the best. The hostess was awful. Everything else was fantastic.

    Pretty good!!

Had dinner the last night I was in Amsterdam since this was right next to my hotel (doubletree). This place I would say is a little overpriced, probably due to it catering to lots of tourists, but the food and service is excellent. What I like the most about it is it's QR code ordering system. Just scan the QR code and order each course through the web app as you like it. A robot will bring the food and drinks when ready. To start off I had a lychee mojito and xiu mai and pork soup dumplings. For mains I had the half Beijing duck and Singapore noodles. This was all entirely too much for one person but I was grateful to have some leftovers to bring back to my room. All the food ended up being great. Especially enjoyed the duck. 10/10 would order everything I ordered again. If I ever find myself in Amsterdam again I'll definitely be back.

We arrived around 4:30, and it was not a problem getting a table although the place was busy. They sat us in the window looking out on the street. The service was prompt, and the menu had a lot of options. We placed an order for seven different small dishes. In short order, the dishes arrived one by one. We were tired from the flight over, but the food picked us up. We got the chicken dumplings, the pork dumplings, the minced beef meatballs, an onion pancake, spring rolls, and a few more items. Everything seemed freshly cooked. The food was good but did not wow us. They give you soy sauce for the dim sum, but I would have liked additional sauces. I did ask for some hot sauce, and they brought me a chili oil sauce which was very good. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with any request. The price was reasonable (two of us for under $50 Euros). The decor is neat and clean. I would definitely recommend.

It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!
