Somewhere between canals and cravings, found our way to Asian food at A-Fusion. Total comfort food. Vibey and trendy atmosphere and staff are friendly coming in with recommendations from the menu.

Flaming sake salmon and a noodle box. Delish!!

Stumbled upon this Asian Fusion restaurant while exploring Amsterdam. Lucky to be squeezed in without a reservation for four on a Friday night with the stipulation that we just had one hour. Grabbed a menu and a paper slip to order. So thankful that our waiter was either able to modify our orders or suggest other options for a shellfish and pork free dining experience. Presentations were so creative. The vegetarian udon noodles served flowing from a noodle box dish were so flavorful. The steamed sea bass served in a seashell propped up in a sea of salt was fantastic. The ginger and soy sauce complimented the fish without overpowering it. Love, love, love the Tom Yum Chicken Sticks. The crispy fried rolls were filled with the most delicious Thai red curry chicken and served with a bottle of Tom Yum dressing. They need to bottle and sell the sauce. So good! Nice how they accommodated our dietary restrictions for the flaming sake roll. The flambéed salmon with avocado and cucumber was incredible. Our friends also got the lamb chops with were torched to perfection table-side. Fun to also watch the chef torch other specialties and fusion rolls. Special sushi rolls can be ordered with four or eight pieces. This allows your party to sample more options. A+ for A-Fusion. A delicious Asian inspired meal in Amsterdam.

I had no idea this place had a Michelin Star until I read some of the reviews... well, that is not what I expected from a michelin star. They have beautiful presentations when it comes to their food, but they need to focus on the food itself. The only thing on the menu that I was pleased with was the sticky korean chicken! That was DELICIOUS, but everything else lacked flavor especially the salad. I'd give it a try at another location, but I was very disappointed with my visit.

I was so excited to see a Michelin Star restaurant in Amsterdam. The window is impressive Michelin Stars awarded in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 22 and a view of Sushi chefs hard at work. IMO...that's where it ends. I was able to get a table on Sunday night at 8:45. Upon arriving, we were told we could only have the table for an hour. Ok, they close at 10, I get it, but Michelin Stars are about excellent service and high quality food and in a country where I just learned that if you don't ask for the check they'll let you sit forever, so it seemed like an odd request, especially after I heard people complaining it was taking forever for their food. Ok... let's start with service. You get a menu, a piece of paper and a pencil. Check off the boxes next to the dishes and sushi you want, and someone will come by and pick up the paper. Tables are so close together that every time a server bought a dish to the table behind me or next to me, not only did they bump into my chair, one time they actually reached in front of me to pick up the order from the table next to me! No excuse me, no I'm sorry. This happened 4 different times. Now the food... honestly, absolutely nothing special. We are spoiled with really good and creative sushi in the states. The rolls we ordered were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Dumplings were bland and a bit overcooked. Singapore Prawns were beautifully presented and I was hoping this would be the dish that wowed me, but it wasn't. I was expecting a pop of curry or even a chili garlic but neither was in the dish... just shrimp covered in some type of sauce. We didn't need the full hour they requested... we couldn't wait to get out of there.

Service was solid and inside was pretty tight. The food was good but not great. The steamed sea bass was cooked well but didn't have much flavor or seasoning. The butterfly shrimp had a nice fry to it but again nothing really beyond that.

*We didn't try any of the sushi* that being said, we tried almost everything else on the menu! This place is absolutely amazing! Best Asian fusion food I've ever had! The ambiance is great, place is a little small, but most every place is in Amsterdam... We sat at the bar, the food is incredible and the service was friendly and fast, everything was perfect! This is a small share plate style place, not a large dish that you eat all yourself, order as much as you can, you won't regret it! I wouldn't pay any attention to any of the negative reviews, honestly, if you didn't like this place, you probably shouldn't be going out to eat...

Great service and delicious food. Beautiful cozy place. Reservation is highly recommended. But they do take walk-in if you can get there right around 4pm.

Everything we had was good. Not sure why it has so many Michelin stars, I'm not I'd say it's that level of good- unless this type of food is hard to find in Amsterdam? If you're craving Asian- go for it!

Good ambience, we were seated right away and served fairly quickly. Decent sake, decent food. Nothing special but good for a quick date night while in Amsterdam.

A-Fusion offers a pleasant ambiance in a prime location. While the food took a bit longer to arrive between dishes, the delicious sushi and overall fun experience make it a worthwhile choice.

Definitely a place you must try. The restaurant gets quite busy. The food was very good and it's a fun vibes. Food is a bit pricy but was worth the price.

We went based off the website boasting high end small dishes. We were anticipating thoughtfully prepared Asian fusion cuisine in an elegant setting. We ordered the tasting menu. None of the dishes were inspired. The menu started with an oyster in the half shell with a nice Asian version of a mignonette. The mignonette was excellent but the oyster itself was a little fishy. The sashimi that followed was good but identical to sashimi anyone can get in any decent sushi restaurant. The black cod followed. Like the sashimi, it was good but nothing special. The last main was seared wagyu. It was nicely cooked but the sauce was a completely uninspired sweet sauce that actually detracted from the taste of the meat. The tulip pot dessert was hands down the high point. It was the one part of the menu that felt in any way inspired. The service was friendly but very slow and very disjointed. The music was too loud to allow a meaningful conversation. The dining room is thoughtfully designed and actually quite cool. So, if you're looking for a club that serves mediocre uninspired Asian fusion cuisine, by all means go for it. If you're looking for a nice restaurant with thoughtful Asian fusion dishes, you might want to look elsewhere.

There is only one Bojo Speciaal. Nestled on a cozy street with lots of action, this place has been here since the 1970s. Walking in feels like a basement grotto with faint lighting and about ten tables in two rows. You already feel at home. Their menu is the standards of Indonesia, so there are no surprises. The wait staff are young and wondered if they were interested in being waiters. The owner or manager seated us. We ordered the SATÉ AYAM which is dark meat. We also ordered VEGA LOEMPIA'S or spring rolls which were disapointing. For the main course we ordered the NASI GORENG SPECIAAL or fried rice served with beef, pickled vegetables, skewer of saté and krupuk. We also ordered SATE-RIJST (grilled skewered chicken) in peanut sauce served with rice, pickled vegetables and shrimp crackers. Both were OK. Overall, this place is above OK, but did not feel it was great. When we paid the bill, they wanted cash, not credit cards which put me in an awkward position. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
