Our hotel recommended us to come to Hoi Tin because her grandmother used to work there. And it did not disappoint. Good dim sum. Good selection.

The Amsterdam Chinatown may be small, but tucked away in its short lane are some semblance of a seemingly authentic Chinese dim sum restaurant. Foreigner you may be and if you don't speak the languages, you'll be okay especially with a menu containing bright, vivid photos and the full English descriptions. Tea came quickly and service was friendly and quick. They have a pretty extensive selection for dim sum. Pricing was fair too considering how plump all items ended up being. Flavor may have been lacking in some items (e.g. Wonton noodz) and the shrimp dumpling was slightly undercooked, but most items were overall tasty and satisfying. Also eerily clean inside compared to this part of the Amsterdam (near the Red Light District).

Sat down Sunday at 7:00. Tea came quickly server came over and explained that we needed to write down the food item on notepad on table. We ordered pork and shrimp dim sum. We also ordered noodle soup with wonton and duck. The dim sum was tasty and full of shrimp. The soup was a bit boring. We asked for some soy sauce. 1 bowl was 14.50 plus extra 4 for additional toppings. Wontons good and duck meaty and tasty. We were still hungry so we ordered a sizzling dish. The brown sauce had good flavor. The shrimp was tasty and well cooked. The pork and chicken was tender. Plenty of food for 2. The bill was 44 with tip, a good value.

We were really craving Asian food after a long time in Europe and stumbled upon this gem! The waiters are very nice and recommend AMAZING dishes to you. Even though they were sold out of all rice noodles dim sum(it was 10pm), we got another delicious rice cakes dish that was a tad spicy. The Peking duck(half portion) was huge and came with some cabbage as well. Shu Mai were cooked well too. I am just annoyed that they charged 80 cents for tap water... but the food made up for that!

We came here for dinner around 6pm and we were able to get seated right away. We got the chicken and corn soup, the noodles with fried dough in it, vegetables, and chicken. I was really glad they served dim sum all day because not too many places do that. I really liked my noodles and soup. It's what I'd expect from a decent Chinese restaurant. The vegetable and chicken had good flavor without it being too overwhelming. The portions were also well sized and had us really stuffed at the end of our meal. The flavor was on point and felt like authentic Chinese food. The prices are normal for an average Chinese restaurant and if you're not looking to splurge, this would be a good place to come for dinner.

A friend recommended this restaurant and 4 of us had dinner here. We shared a tofu dish called "mabo tofu", roast pork and duck, veggie dish, and "Yang Chow" fried rice. All delicious and we left this place feeling very full and satisfied. Very good Chinese restaurant.

Was good....no complaints. For those that are afraid to order from a Chinese menu there were lots of pics to assist.

    After dinner mess!

You can tell they serve a real good, fresh food just by checking out the bakery next to the restaurant.

Reasonable Dim Sum and stir fried noodles. Fast service. A good lunch spot. They even had chrysanthemum tea which I love.

A decent bakery but if you're looking for a good Chinese meal I'd recommend walking down to either Nam Kee or New King

It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

One standout dish that truly impressed me was the Kimchi Fried Rice with Shrimp & Sweet Corn. The balance of flavors was exceptional--the tangy, spicy kick of the kimchi paired beautifully with the sweetness of the corn, while the shrimp added a perfectly tender, savory touch. Their menu is impressively large and the dining room is small but inviting. Prices are quite high, but you are in a tourist area. We ordered a Kung pao chicken and a chicken fried rice to share. We both had a very weird 'chemical' taste that would occasionally occur with the Kung pao but neither of us could figure out what it was. The chicken fried rice was fine but contained very little chicken. My house white wine at 4.5 was fine as well as hubby had a Heineken. The biggest issue was the many Gnats that just descended on us once our wine arrived. If you zoom in on the picture, there were quite a few just hanging out after our plate we removed. We have been to many restaurants since we arrived here and this is the first with this issue. It got even worse once our food arrived. Very irritating. Service was just ok. We were here at a weird time because we are very jet lagged and trying to get on the time zone (needed dinner early). The staff were having their dinner so we felt a bit of a nuisance. Bill was about 50 euro.
