Duck's greedy fat loose skin and back bones
    Theresa L.

Wing Kee a Restaurant that you never want to go again! It was such a big disappointment! The Cantonese BBQ roast THREE COMBINATION delivered to the table, it makes you want to fight with THE CHEF three times! The Cantonese Oil chicken breast is tender enough , Unfortunately, The roasted pork belly is very fat, and there is only one tiny line of lean meat in the middle! The most terrifying thing is that the roast duck is full of fat: the chef cut the duck's back bones for our plate, , and there is no meat. It's all fat meat, bones and tough skin! This is what they can come up with! Open such a Chinese restaurant in a place that fools foreigners! Dare to make money with no conscience ! The Cantonese BBQ three-combination and a plate of Dried Stir Fried beef Rice Noodles cost me 41.5 euros!

Located in Amsterdam Chinatown & also the Red Light District. Wing Kee is by far the most decent Asian restaurant. We found it quite authentic as compared to some Asian restaurant in Europe. We went there on a Saturday night, place was quite packed. No reservations, it is first come first served. We were more surprised when the staff were speaking Cantonese! We waited for about 15 mins before we got a table. This is a no frill restaurant, menu was pretty decent. We spoke to the server, Wing Kee has been in business over 40 years by the same owner. We ordered the 3 meat plate, stir fry greens, stuff tofu with sauce & a wonton soup. With white rice. Everything was good & delicious, the soup for the wanton wasn't salty, soup was actually flavourful. The sauce that came with the 3 meat was good to put on rice. The stuffed tofu with sauce was very good. The setting in the restaurant is simple, like I said... no frills, just decent Cantonese food which is a rare find in any European cities.

Fried shrimp wontons. Thank heavens for the sauce.

Again bland food period but this one really irritated me because the cash only sign was not in plain sight! But you are in the Netherlands, so they will literally walk you all the way to an ATM machine. Again I stuck to pastries 3 days straight because the food was so Bland in this country. And not even Asian food with seasoned! Couldn't believe it until I experienced it

This is a traditional Cantonese style Chinese restaurant in the "Chinatown" area of Amsterdam. We went on a busy Saturday night and the line wasn't too bad there. I am guessing a large part of that is because they don't take credit cards, Dutch debit cards or cash only. Also the food is quite good, very busy...very bright. A no frills restaurant but similar to the others. I very much enjoyed it and recommend.

This doesn't look like real money. They refuse to give me something else.

Very rude. The food is ok. Not for tourism just for locals. I been there many times but today was horrible. I won't go back.

This is a really traditional Hongkong restaurant. All the chef and waiters all from Hongkong. It's very real Chinese food not like those fake Chinese restaurant which grade by foreigners. 这家店可以去吃,非常好吃,正宗地道!

    Beef chow fun

I only tried one dish at Wing Kee: the beef chow fun. That's always a good test of whether a chef can handle a wok well. And it was excellent. One star off for the less than stellar service. Place really needs another waitress. The lady there was running around like a headless chicken dealing with the packed house.

It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

This particular restaurant satisfied my craving for Asian food, located next to the Red Light District. Service was very helpful and friendly, food was just as good! Was also interesting to see the Asian staff speak Norwegian also to other customers. Great place to get your Asian food fix when traveling here.

One standout dish that truly impressed me was the Kimchi Fried Rice with Shrimp & Sweet Corn. The balance of flavors was exceptional--the tangy, spicy kick of the kimchi paired beautifully with the sweetness of the corn, while the shrimp added a perfectly tender, savory touch. Every bite was vibrant and satisfying, showcasing a creative twist on a classic comfort dish. I cannot wait for an opportunity to revisit and try their duck. It smelled and looked decadent. The ambiance is equally remarkable, blending traditional elegance with a lively, welcoming vibe. Service was attentive and friendly, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. Their menu is impressively large and the dining room is small but inviting. Prices are quite high, but you are in a tourist area. We ordered a Kung pao chicken and a chicken fried rice to share. We both had a very weird 'chemical' taste that would occasionally occur with the Kung pao but neither of us could figure out what it was. The chicken fried rice was fine but contained very little chicken. My house white wine at 4.5 was fine as well as hubby had a Heineken. The biggest issue was the many Gnats that just descended on us once our wine arrived. If you zoom in on the picture, there were quite a few just hanging out after our plate we removed. We have been to many restaurants since we arrived here and this is the first with this issue. It got even worse once our food arrived. Very irritating. Service was just ok. We were here at a weird time because we are very jet lagged and trying to get on the time zone (needed dinner early). The staff were having their dinner so we felt a bit of a nuisance. Bill was about 50 euro.
