1. Shoyu Tonkotsu (Thick Noodle)
Yuchen Z.

Very thin slice of pork belly. Soup flavor was pretty good. Karaage was good (tell them to put mayo on the side if you don't like mayo). Service was really fast. It's a convenient location with lots of parking. The ramen was fine, but I probably wouldn't be back because of the very very thin slices of pork belly and so the value wasn't there.

This is my second time trying ramen, the first was underwhelming. This time it was also underwhelming. It could have been that I don't know what ramen is supposed to taste like, or that I also ordered the black garlic flavor. There were only a few people on the restaurant, it was quiet and relaxing. I was waited on promptly after sitting. I ordered the hot tea, egg rolls and the black garlic ramen. The egg rolls were okay, they almost seemed like they were the frozen pork egg rolls. I love egg rolls in general anyways. I'm not exactly sure what the black garlic ramen is supposed to taste like. But it wasn't a garlic flavor. I do like the chewy ramen noodles , and the pork fell apart in my mouth. The pork was delicious. I would try this place again, and I'll order the original ramen and start from there.

Almost entirely gluten free menu (all broths are gf and they have a gf noodle). Amazing! Atmosphere is very pleasant and got great service. Most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS

I love this place! The udon is especially good! Husband likes the curry udon. We've been here several times and we always say, "We should come here more often." The place is small and cozy. It has a very quiet almost zen like atmosphere. There's soft jazz playing in the background. Service is always good, in fact the same lady is always working there. She's always there. Always pleasant. We always come back.

My experience here was really good. The chicken karage and the Udon Ramen both were really good with very fine tasting broth. I also tried a hot sake. I felt that was pretty average. The ambience of the place is good and the service was reasonably fast.

The Ramen here is amazing! Temperature, noodles, and ingredients are all fantastic! The apps are tasty! The combos you can get with your ramen are great choices as well as the add ons. The green tea has a great price and the cup is about 4-5 inches tall and comes with refills if you would like. The service is friendly and fast. The food can come out as fast as 5-8 min. Come on! That's is fast, granted it's soup!!! But still fast! The ambiance feel to this place is warm, can be quiet if you come in when they first open but even though it gets busy, it's still has a nice Asian ambiance! One of our favorite places when we come to Edmonds. Thank you and we will be back and back and back!!!

Shoyu Ramen, $13.59 - 4.5 Stars

We were in the area when we started thinking about dinner. Izakaya always catches my attention, so I opted to try Yua Ramen, especially with their generally good ratings and okonomiyaki on the menu, which is an unusual menu item in our area. The place was quite packed when we arrived but scored a table quickly. I noticed the turnaround is quite fast. That's always good. Service is swift and no fuss. The restaurant looked clean and pleasantly decorated. The Food: Black Garlic Miso Ramen, $14.89 + $2 for seasoned egg - 4.5 Stars Shoyu Ramen, $13.59 - 4.5 Stars Their ramen is their strength. The broth of both ramens is just right. The garlic miso is aromatic and fantastically comforting. The shoyu broth is a comfortable and homey broth. The noodles are fresh with a good chew. The meat/chashu is on the fatty side, not a lot of meat. The seasoned egg is good. I would eat here again for the ramen. But I would not purposely drive here for the ramen. There are better places elsewhere. Okonomiyaki, $10.59 - 0 Star This dish is puzzling. It's fat (thick) and yet small (diameter), maybe 4". It looks properly seared on the outsides, but the insides are a bit squishy, possibly a wee under-cooked. It's also odd that it seems to have lettuce instead of cabbage in it. The veggies are mushier than I expected. It should be flatter, pressed, so each bite/wedge can at least hold its shape, with a slight crisp to it. None of that is true. Other than looking 'about right', nothing else is right about this dish. Zero star. Never again.

My family stumbled into Yua for a late 3:15p lunch on a Friday. We had the dedicated attention of a host who gave off a vibe of being one of the owners. Our dishes were timed properly - we never waited too long for anything - and we were sat right away. A couple showed up to dine in around 3:45p. The edamame preparation was simple, but tasty: steamed and salted, it was easy to devour. All of our party opted for ramen variants with thin noodles, which the menu calls out separately from thick noodles. I wish I had enjoyed my green curry ramen more. I've never seen this on a menu and I was feeling adventurous. The chicken broth had a strong allium flavor and didn't have the umami to back it up. On top of that, my noodles were definitely thin. I prefer a bit more chew, so if I went back I'd focus on the thick noodles. That said, we ate literally everything we ordered.

Solid ramen up at Edmonds, service is standard. Small little place good vibes. But down side for this is that the chashu/pork belly was pretty thin for me and it's only one slice. Portion was ok for the price.

Fly in soup

I used to love this place but I placed a pick up order today and when I was eating I found a fly in my soup.

Good: broth-savory and very flavorful. It's nice and silky. I love the crunch and I can bite into the noodles-not overly cooked. The size is also just the perfect size for me. Bad: the slice of the pork is as thin as bacon. It could get a little thicker-as in-more meat please. Prices are reasonable. I can recommend this place. I'd like to try their Yakisoba next time. Plenty of parking and located next to the Ranch 99 market.

Kind service, great food! As a vegetarian I never expect much of ramen options, but while they only had 1 true veggie ramen, it was DELICIOUS. Creamy, great flavor, good array of toppings.

After visiting shopping for groceries, we saw Yua Ramen in the same plaza and decided to stop by for lunch. It wasn't too crowded at the time and we got seated immediately. The food came out fast and soon we were digging into our bowls. Black Garlic Miso ($14.89) - The broth in this ramen exhibits quite a strong umami from the miso that comes through very well. It's not as well salted as a lot of other ramen broths I've had. I feel like the tonkotsu broth is a little thinner and missing a bit of unctuous, fatty, foamy elements that come from well rendered pork bones. The noodles are described as "thick" but they are more akin to spaghetti in thickness, rather than the more well known curly ramen. They still exhibit a nice bite and chew. The toppings include bean sprouts that are cooked down a bit to decrease the amount of crunch, fresh green onions, fried onions that add a nice crunch and quite a bit of sweetness, and a perfectly cooked piece of chashu. The chashu literally falls apart, first splitting into strips, then into even smaller pieces very easily. So tender and delicious, with a good amount of fat to amp up the heaviness of the dish just a tad. There's also half of a marinated egg, with a yolk that's set a bit past the jammy phase. (4/5) YUA Ramen ($15.59) - The broth flavor is nice. It's a bit sharper than the Black Garlic Miso, with a more of a gingery bite. I'm sure the marinade for the ground pork also contributes to the taste. The pork is generally tender, almost silky, with a nice pork flavor that's a bit sweet. The noodles included are of a thinner variety, similar in size to somen. I feel like they cook the noodles the same amount as the thicker noodles, so they do get quite a bit softer with much less of a bite. The toppings include bamboo shoot that adds a somewhat tangy, stinky quality (I do not say stinky in a negative way), a sheet of nori, and the same bean sprouts, egg, green onions, and cha shu as with the other ramen. (4/5) Overall the ramen at Yua Ramen is good enough. It's not top tier, but I think it will satisfy any ramen itch. I wouldn't mind visiting again when I'm in the area.

Food was fine. It wasn't particularly authentic ramen but it was a decent dining experience.

Best ramen for Edmonds beats all ramen in the city. We usually get the spicy ramen or miso and they are both fantastic.

We started with the dumplings and ahi tacos, and both were outstanding. Every dish felt especially intentional -- not just the presentation, but in the way the flavors were built. Nothing felt random or overdone. Everything was thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely delicious. But the real showstopper was the El Jefe tacos. These were made with wagyu steak, and then topped off with bone marrow that you scrape onto the tacos yourself, which took them to another level entirely. Rich, savory, decadent, and completely unforgettable -- easily the most insane tacos I have ever had. We finished with the lilikoi crème brûlée, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- creamy, bright, and memorable without being overly heavy. The ambience made the whole experience even better. Bar Dojo has such a cozy, welcoming feel inside -- warm, intimate, and comfortable without feeling too formal. It's the kind of place that feels nice enough for a special dinner, but still relaxed enough that you can actually settle in and enjoy yourself. HUGE credit to Chef Luis Brambila and the team at Bar Dojo. The whole meal felt creative, intentional, and executed with serious skill. The fact that my only picture is an empty plate should tell the whole story -- the food was just too good to wait. Don't let your taste buds miss out! Seriously go order some El Jefe Tacos, you won't regret it!

We were craving some something warm and since this one was the closest in the area and one of the only places that has ramen, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Red Volcano Tonkotsu And Tonkotsu Ramen. The ramen noodle itself was good and chewy. Egg was perfectly cooked with yolk on the inside and well marinated on the outside. We thought the broth was okay, it needed more flavor and it didn't really taste like authentic Japanese ramen to us. The red volcano was very very spicy, I do not recommend if you cannot handle spice, I really thought it was just a kick of spice before ordering but it was actually very spicy that it was almost impossible to enjoy the broth. The regular tonkotsu was lighter in flavor. Both ramen dishes had this pickled vegetable and bok choy in there which is not like traditional Japanese ramen but we didn't mind the extra crunch. I wouldn't get the ramen again but I'm open to trying their sushi if I ever go again.
