We were quite overwhelmed with the scope of the project but Brian really gave us peace of mind and made everything as easy as possible. This includes starting the day after we signed the contract, bringing times and pavers to the house for us to look at, being available via chat/phone when ever we had a question, updating us on progress and next steps everyday, and finishing a week early. The project included bringing the floor of the pool up, creating a Baja shelf, repiping, new lights, and new decking. 3. When we made some changes on how much we wanted to bring up the floor of the pool, YPS made it happen. We also asked them to change the perimeter of the deck to make it a more rectangular shape they also gave us no grief and made it happen. 4. They handle everything in-house and they know their crew and their crew know their jobs well. There was a team working everyday until the project was done. T were also here every day to check on the crew. Everyone was nice, professional, and a master of their craft. Once again YPS has done an excellent job with my backyard. They came a couple years ago and did an amazing job on my previous home and now that I am in a different area, YPS still came to the rescue. I moved 60 miles away from my old place and they still made the effort to come to my new home and fix up my backyard. They are also in the works of designing a new spa as well, but my backyard is coming up amazingly. Unprofessional and zero respect for a client's time I'm writing this to warn others about the complete lack of professionalism I experienced with Brian at YPS Pool Construction. I reached out to get an estimate for remodeling and replacing my pool coping, Brian and I agreed on a Thursday appointment at 3:00 PM. He never showed up and didn't call. I had to be the one to follow up (as seen in the attached screenshot). He apologized and asked to reschedule for the very next day, Friday at 3:00 PM. For the second time in a row: Total no-show. No text, no call, and no explanation. I waited around twice for someone who clearly has no regard for other people's schedules. If a contractor is too busy or isn't interested in the job, they should just say so. Ghosting a potential client twice is a huge red flag regarding their reliability and communication. After looking at other reviews, it's clear this is a recurring pattern with this business. I definitely won't be working with someone who doesn't show even a basic level of respect. Brian and Carlos at YPS Pool Construction were terrific to work with. It's hard to fully capture how these guys go above and beyond to deliver exception service and craftsmanship to their customers. A few months ago, my wife and I decided it was time to renovate and upgrade the 30+ year old pool in our backyard. We honestly had no idea what we were looking at, because so features had not worked for years (spa jets and heating, waterfall, etc.) and the plaster was starting to fail. Brian came to the house and we asked him to quote two options--our dream pool (new shape, retractable cover, pebble tech bottom) and a more budget-conscious option. Brian got back to us with a quote for both versions of the project within 12 hours! We ended up going with the budget-conscious option and started the project a couple days after Brian first came to the house. Brian initially estimated the job would take 4 weeks, but everything was completed in just 3 weeks (by his brother Carlos, and his crew), and the craftsmanship at every juncture was exceptional. Not only was the quality of work great, but all of the guys working for YPS Pool were extremely polite and respectful of our home/backyard, ensuring they left things cleaner than they found it. And boy were they all hard working! They showed up at about 8:30am every morning and worked until sundown most days (including weekends). Additionally, during the project, we realized we wanted to upgrade some additional features (not included in the original quote) and Brian/Carlos worked with us to make sure we were 100% satisfied when the job was done, agreeing to very reasonable change orders along the way. The last change order came after we had paid for the job in full, had the pool equipment running, and came to discover that the main drain for the pool equipment was clogged with decades of tree-root growth traveling up the drain pipe! The only thing that could be done was to dig up the whole drain pipe (10-20 yards) and replace it with new pipe. Even though this was not something YPS Pool typically did, when we called Brian and Carlos and explained the problem, they sent someone out to the house the very next day, and got the entire job done within 24 hours. Also, when we learned our old pool guy was retiring, Brian and Carlos helped me find a replacement--who we are absolutely thrilled with--and who has been handling the start up service to ensure the plaster does not get stained in the first two weeks (I didn't know this was important, but Carlos warned me and I'm so glad he did). We now have a pool we absolutely love, and which we cannot wait to enjoy when the plaster finishes setting! read more

We had a great experience with YPS. They transformed our early 60s pool into a 21st century gem, completely replacing leaking copper pipes, bringing it up to code, replacing coping and tile, and adding a new light, mini pebble, and deck jets. They did it all in about a (sometimes rainy) month despite my multiple change orders (autofill system, water features, etc.) and stayed on budget and in great communication the whole time. Was super impressed by the crew members in all stages of the project; they were incredibly skilled, hard working, and personable. Let me preface by saying that I work in residential real estate and have plenty of personal experience working directly with various contractors. My wife and I have a pool that needed some serious work: several areas of coping and tiles were chipped off and cracking, certain pool equipment was no longer working, and it was time to have the pool replastered. And let me give a special kudos to the crew: they worked hard, responded to my questions and feedback in a timely manner, cleaned up after the job was finished, and went the extra mile as needed.
