I'm on my feet a lot and didn't want to buy new shoes for work, especially with the rising costs,…read moreso I decided to have a couple worn out pairs repaired. I live in my work loafers and they were coming apart at the toe all the way to the arch, and were also in desperate need of new insoles. Since they were nicely broken in after 2 years of constant wear, I took them to Carson Shoe Repair, and within the week they were seemingly brand new. George, the owner, did a great job! My loafers look and feel incredible. With the repair and insole replacement, (which was much better than buying a Dr. Scholl from a big box store), I did spend a couple nice pennies, but I felt it was totally worth it. Both pairs of shoes have been holding up nicely. I loved that George even shined and cleaned them up. Hopefully, the repair will last me another 2 years, especially in today's economy. If you are in need of a good shoe repair, be sure to give George a call.

Most recent drop off was the regular-learned-the-hard-way-not-to-wash clothing items and hubby's fave à la Mr. Rodger's cardigan. Stretched out button holes, it had become incapable of keeping him snug, cozy. $8 per to tighten them = snug, cozy. I truly would have messed up this repair. ALL items cleaned with care, packaged appropriately ready to be worn this coming fall/winter. Short term drop-off/pick-up parking at entrance off of Westwood Boulevard and Holman Avenue. We usually walk to Sterling Cleaners for drop-off but pick-up via our car(s). Made the mistake at pick-up by parking in an employee only zone. Fortunately, thanks to efficient staff, I was only in an employee's space for mere minutes. Whew! Check-in on Yelp but there's no longer a discount along with it. When I mentioned this we were given a 25% off neighborhood courtesy. Sterling Cleaners now prefers a Google review but I'm gonna stick with Yelp.

These are important items and I don't trust any of the local dry cleaners. I dropped the items off before my trip to Mexico and I received a text less than 24 hours later. All items were spotless and I am extremely pleased. The price for cleaning was extremely fair and given up front so there were no surprises at pick up time.

Since they only have a regular sewing machine he advised that I go to the alteration place around the corner to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed but he could restitch my skirt and dress. They offered to dry clean my clothes after they altered them so I had them clean my dress. Very quick turn around time! They were able to alter my 2 pieces and dry clean my dress by the date he said it would be done (only 5 days - Sat till Wed). They didn't call me to confirm they were done so just show up on the day they say it will be done. To get 2 pieces altered and 1 piece dry cleaned the total cost was only $29.99. Very cheap and worth it! The only disappointment was the stitch color that he used is different than the color of my dress so you can see it a little. You really have to look closely to notice so I'm happy with the work done.
