Steak tip available with rice..... BUT ACTUALLY COMES WITH FRIES
    Sharra V.

I moved to Cumberland about 6 months ago. I order out frequently especially on the weekend. I received a menu in my mail box and order a pizza one night. Pizza was a solid 6-7 which for a foody and classically trained chef (not what I do) like myself is a pretty good rating for pizza in Cumberland and not made a 5 star establishment. My kids got the chicken finger dinner. They liked it! I have ordered rom here pretty consistently 1x week and 1-2 times on the weekend. That make me 2-3 time a week customer (which im sure they can see in their Computer system) for a non-chain privately owned restaurant/pizza place. I spend all week bending and breaking my back for my customers. I also own a small business, and understand completely the ins-outs and ups-downs so I am all to familiar with the pains of customer service, however tonight was a disgusting display of a man who does not valve the people that make his $ucce$$ful Tonight I called and ordered for my kids the chix finger dinner and the steak tip dinner. On the menu the steak tip dinner say "available with rice" under steak tip dinner. I got the order from the deliver girl, tipped the driver 10% opened the food and saw that both dinners came with fries. No biggie was not mad at all i know it is Friday night $ hit happens. I called them back and nicely told the gentleman who answered the phone that I had just received my order and it was wrong...he asked me what was wrong i stated they had sent fries instead of rice. The young man on the phone asked me if i ordered rice i said no it says on menu it comes with rice...he apologized and asked me if i just wanted the rice or if i would perfer the meal made again. I asked him if he could make the meal over if he didn't mind seeing how the steak would have been cold by the time the rice got here. I thought that was a great way to handle the situation and was pleasantly surprised they didn't just offer to send rice lol. ( which i told him i would have been fine with). He put me on hold and some short time later a man (with an accent) got on the phone and started right in with "the steak tip dinner comes with fries"! He didn't greet me or tell me he was a manger or owner he just barked at me that the meal doesn't come with rice.! His tone led my cold reaction "excuse me sir, the menu says rice!" He said "NO IT doesn't" ! It clearly says AVAILABLE WITH RICE? ?!!! I'm confused at this point, I'm not sure where any logical person could know that the steak tip dinner ( that is clearly written available with rice ) would know to expect they would receive French fries. Call me a crazy Karen like my kids, but no mention of fries... just rice... and he is insistent that I would have had to SPECIFY that I wanted rice. In what world does steak tips available with rice mean steak tips with French fies? I told him after going back and fourth a few more times ....trying to be logical here..... that I was new to the area and had order from him ALOT and that he just lost a customer for what $1.50 worth of rice. His response was "fine" and then I got hung up on.

    a pizza in a box

Small place tucked away in a neighborhood a couple blocks from the prison. Friendly people, but meh pizza. A little overcooked, and it didn't seem "artistian" at all. Sauce, cheese, and crust, were all nothing special. Way overpriced for in the price/quantity ratio. Its an easy pass for me.

So-Called "Fried Clam" More like artificial "rubber-bands" battered and fried.

Pizza here is good. They also offer Sandwiches, Salads, and Seafood. Herein is my complaint - the Seafood. WHY offer food if you're not willing to put in the necessary effort to make it at least decent?!!? We've been making our own pizzas at home so we don't order Yovanis anymore - after 2020 they got less reliable in their standards of quality. After a strange day, we decided to try their Fried Clam Strips ($13.95) and Fish and Chips ($14.95). We've had the Fish and Chips years ago (pre-2020)... it was OK (edible; but you couldn't keep any overnight.. the crunchiness of the fish coating was a highlight of the experience and it didn't endure as leftovers). THIS TIME??? Royal RIP-OFF. The simple F&C wasn't cooked properly. They LOAD ON the French Fries on all platters (which are adequate, but far too abundant). What they're trying to pass off as "clam strips" are some funky, weird, maybe non-food "things" that have ZERO flavor and are merely dipped in some batter and fried. It's practically vulgar. It isn't as though we expected 'gourmet' or anything like that - but did standards really have to go so seriously south in the last few years? Waste of Money.

They are hit or miss lately. I got a sub tonight. I find a melted bread tie poking out from under my sub.

My friend and I split the walnut based 'chorizo' tacos to start and then we shared two dine in specials. We had the seared tofu dish with sushi rice and veggies - the rice was also seared and had so much flavor and a great texture! The veggies were all done so well and that tofu, yum! & we always split the peanut tofu fried rice. All of the portions were very generous. I left full and happy!

On to the review! party of 6 and we must have been lucky because there was a table ready and didn't even have to wait( place was busy). We were waited on right away and got our drink orders in and with in minutes we had them and we all know what we wanted already so we put our orders in and the server asked if we wanted our food together or just bring it out as it gets done. We all agreed as it gets done and before you know it fresh pipping hot food starts arriving to our table. While waiting for the food and talking with the family I was able to get a good vibe check of the ambiance of this place and I must say I good really great vibe and felt like was just a bunch of happy people eating and having greats convos with one another. :-) On to the food! Nachos - Super awesome and crunchy and fresh. not soggy at all and a huge portion for 15 bucks! Margherita pizza - Super fresh piping hot pizza with fresh tomatoes and Basil! Sriracha Buffalo Cauliflower - This is where things started to turn inconsistent. let's see we had three orders of these and pretty much all three orders looked different, tasted different and some of the bigger pieces were not cooked through. All three of us did share each others to compare tastes. Reggie's Raw Heaven Salad - I did not eat the salad but I looked at it and asked the couple how they liked it and they said it was awesome! Note to self to try next time! Sweet Potato Wedges - Hot and fresh but again with the inconsistency, some were over cooked almost burnt and some were a little under cooked but for the most part they were nice and crunchy on the outside and nice and pillowy soft on the inside. Overall - I do love this place, I can't wait to come back and see if the food can be a little more consistent.. This place has really great vibe to it and I do recommend it for a good vegan food spot!

I waited months for it to get better but it just keeps on getting worse. Both, the food and the service is getting worse. The food quality is noticeably declining. The prices are getting laughable too. A pasta dish with protein went from about $22 to $37. If I'm paying almost 40 dollars for a pasta dish, I'll go to federal hill and won't have to deal with a screaming baby two tables over...and the food quality is going to better too. The service went from exceptional to freaking terrible. The staff turnover is so high. It's so high it's very noticeable. They can not keep staff to save their life. Every Saturday it's a sea of new faces, confused and terrified. If they even remember you sat down...and many times you just wait and wait ...I assure you, they will mess up your order. It's not even their fault, they are all new all the time. I feel bad but it sucks when your whole dinner gets fudged up over and over again. Newbies that don't know what basic drinks are. I had to walk the server through putting my drink in the POS system at least four times in a row...this has been happening for 4-5 months now. I've been going there for at least five years, several times a month. I'm a solid regular but i spend 150-170 each time and it's becoming a total bummer. I have to explain rhe menu or what a simple drink I'm ordering is. They forget about our table all the time lately. I've had them ring in completely wrong food or tell me what I'm ordering doesn't exist...it does. Most of the time the food comes out wrong, or cold. I just eat it at this point because it's become a norm. The bill is almost always wrong. I give up. In search for a new go to. This used to be a gem. There were a couple empty seats at the bar, some of which seemed suspiciously untouched and we soon realized why; the AC was blasting overheard and although it felt nice in the beginning since it was HOT outside, after 10 minutes it felt frigid. We stayed there anyways since there was a huge TV right in front of us. I wasn't sure what to order, but the chicken and burrata sandwich sounded really good, mostly because of the sweet, salty, and creamy contrast. I ended up ordering it and upgraded my fries to parmesan fries. My friend ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. After about 15 minutes, the food came out. I knew the chicken would be grilled since I asked before ordering so my expectations were low, but it was surprisingly still moist, did taste grilled, but lacked some seasoning. I did not open the sandwich to check how much burrata there was, but adding some more would not have hurt. The fig jam was definitely the star of the show. It overpowered some of the other flavors, but I didn't mind. The caramelized onions might've also contributed to the sweetness; they were soft and good. I was glad they did not add too much arugula since it can get bitter. The ciabatta was a good choice of bread for this sandwich, and it came lightly toasted. I did not taste much of the garlic. The fries were good. They were like regular fries, but with some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and a parmesan dipping sauce. I also ordered some secret sauce for my fries because I went down a Reddit rabbit hole and was compelled to try it. I was not impressed and it indeed tasted a lot like ketchup and mayo, with maybe a couple other things. We stayed for the full match including overtime. Thankfully it wasn't busy enough where I felt they would kick us out for taking up chairs for too long. Our waitress was great.
