I moved to Cumberland about 6 months ago. I order out frequently especially on the weekend. I received a menu in my mail box and order a pizza one night. Pizza was a solid 6-7 which for a foody and classically trained chef (not what I do) like myself is a pretty good rating for pizza in Cumberland and not made a 5 star establishment. My kids got the chicken finger dinner. They liked it! I have ordered rom here pretty consistently 1x week and 1-2 times on the weekend. That make me 2-3 time a week customer (which im sure they can see in their Computer system) for a non-chain privately owned restaurant/pizza place. I spend all week bending and breaking my back for my customers. I also own a small business, and understand completely the ins-outs and ups-downs so I am all to familiar with the pains of customer service, however tonight was a disgusting display of a man who does not valve the people that make his $ucce$$ful Tonight I called and ordered for my kids the chix finger dinner and the steak tip dinner. On the menu the steak tip dinner say "available with rice" under steak tip dinner. I got the order from the deliver girl, tipped the driver 10% opened the food and saw that both dinners came with fries. No biggie was not mad at all i know it is Friday night $ hit happens. I called them back and nicely told the gentleman who answered the phone that I had just received my order and it was wrong...he asked me what was wrong i stated they had sent fries instead of rice. The young man on the phone asked me if i ordered rice i said no it says on menu it comes with rice...he apologized and asked me if i just wanted the rice or if i would perfer the meal made again. I asked him if he could make the meal over if he didn't mind seeing how the steak would have been cold by the time the rice got here. I thought that was a great way to handle the situation and was pleasantly surprised they didn't just offer to send rice lol. ( which i told him i would have been fine with). He put me on hold and some short time later a man (with an accent) got on the phone and started right in with "the steak tip dinner comes with fries"! He didn't greet me or tell me he was a manger or owner he just barked at me that the meal doesn't come with rice.! His tone led my cold reaction "excuse me sir, the menu says rice!" He said "NO IT doesn't" ! It clearly says AVAILABLE WITH RICE? ?!!! I'm confused at this point, I'm not sure where any logical person could know that the steak tip dinner ( that is clearly written available with rice ) would know to expect they would receive French fries. Call me a crazy Karen like my kids, but no mention of fries... just rice... and he is insistent that I would have had to SPECIFY that I wanted rice. In what world does steak tips available with rice mean steak tips with French fies? I told him after going back and fourth a few more times ....trying to be logical here..... that I was new to the area and had order from him ALOT and that he just lost a customer for what $1.50 worth of rice. Small place tucked away in a neighborhood a couple blocks from the prison. Friendly people, but meh pizza. A little overcooked, and it didn't seem "artistian" at all. Pizza here is good. They also offer Sandwiches, Salads, and Seafood. Herein is my complaint - the Seafood. WHY offer food if you're not willing to put in the necessary effort to make it at least decent?!!? We've been making our own pizzas at home so we don't order Yovanis anymore - after 2020 they got less reliable in their standards of quality. After a strange day, we decided to try their Fried Clam Strips ($13.95) and Fish and Chips ($14.95). We've had the Fish and Chips years ago (pre-2020)... it was OK (edible; but you couldn't keep any overnight.. the crunchiness of the fish coating was a highlight of the experience and it didn't endure as leftovers). THIS TIME??? Royal RIP-OFF. The simple F&C wasn't cooked properly. They LOAD ON the French Fries on all platters (which are adequate, but far too abundant). What they're trying to pass off as "clam strips" are some funky, weird, maybe non-food "things" that have ZERO flavor and are merely dipped in some batter and fried. It's practically vulgar. Thee Yovani's Gobbler is a must try! Most of the food here is mid, but the quesadilla, the fried shrimp, steak tips and the salads are all bomb.com. I do not recommend the pizza or calzones at all. The pasta is ok, but they only use penne and I like variety. I gave 4 stars to be because they are clean, have great service, and I can't stop coming back. The burgers are good too. read more

My order was ready by 11:15 AM, the calamari I ordered did not come with a banana peppers requested, ordered an anchovy pizza only three anchovies are on the pizza. Our new go-to pizza place! Found this place a while back through the Slice app and ordered since they had good reviews and the shortest delivery time. We have since ordered from them any time we are in the mood for pizza! The pizza is delicious, not too greasy and the crust is consistently cooked well and has yet to be burnt. We have placed a different order each time and have had a great experience with all the different specialty pizzas. I ate here earlier in the year, after accidentally wandering down a side street to find it. The most notable thing about Yovani's at the time was its giant portion of greek salad. I've tried this place a few more times since then and have to say I won't be eating there again anytime soon. This place makes the ONE terrible mistake any restaurant can make, that will ultimately kill it in the long term, frozen pre-packaged ingredients. This spot could stand out if it actually started making its foods from scratch, rather than trying to save a buck buying those garbage quality frozen foods that leave customers with massive portions of the bland variety and a huge stomach ache. If Yovani's ever reads this: Watch some "Kitchen Nightmares" and take a note out of the Gordon Ramsey book. "No prefab frozen food". You are doing a disservice to yourself and to your customers if you plan on being a successful long-term restaurant. It shows you don't care about your final product or your customers. Even something as simple as making your own nacho cheese sauce for the various items on your menu that require it, would go a long way. read more

The fish was cooked in a pool of unappetizing oil with absolutely no seasoning, extremely unacceptable. The calamari was so over cooked it was like chewing on leather. This was our go-to place for a year. We basically kept them in business during last year's covid summer. Each and every time we ordered, the food was awesome, the price was reasonable, the people very nice, and always on time. Recently, we've had three bad experiences in a row. Three strikes and you're out! The first time, it was over an hour late. I called after an hour, and a very rude man told me he was on his way. The food was cold when it got there. The second time, the food wasn't bad, but it was nowhere near what it has always been in the past. We almost always got chicken tenders, and they were always large , juicy and tender. These were small, tough and dry. We decided to give them one more try, and I'm very sad that we did. My son ordered a chicken salad sub, specifying not toasted. He also got bacon on it. It came toasted, the bread was as hard as a rock. He bit into it and said it tasted funny took another bite, and realized there was something wrong. He pulled the bacon out of his mouth and it had some sort of film on it. He took the sandwich apart, and something was most definitely wrong with the bacon. Not to be graphic, but he spent the entire next day on the toilet, both ways! This, my friends, is called food poisoning! We are so done with this place. Never never ever ever again! I ordered delivery and I must admit the food arrived still fresh and hot. It also only took around 40 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I received my food. A lot of menu options but we opted for a pepperoni pizza, jalapeño poppers and a Texas burger. All of it was so-so. Definitely not bad but nothing we couldn't live without trying again. This was our first tme ordering. We found them on uber Eats. Now Uber Eats is the worst! and will never use them again. However, the folks at this restaurant were great. We called to let them know we got the wrong order and they offered to have it delivered again at no charge. We had ordered a pizza but got 2 salads and a grilled chicken wrap. We simply kept what was delivered which was delicious. The food was fresh and the sandwich was still hot. The service and food were both great from this place and would definitely recommend. Your driver was 20 minutes late, the food was soggy and the salad was hot and wilted under the fries. I called and asked to get a refund, I was busy with someone in the phone when the driver just gave me a flat $10 and walked away. When I said I paid $13 for delivery and tip (because I was ordering with a coworker) he waived his hand at me, spoke something not in english, then said "call yovanis I dont have time for this" and walked away. Needless to say, my entire building was informed of how Yovani's drivers treat their customers. I can't speak for the man who I spoke to, i was too focused on arguing with the driver for my money. We order takeout once a week. So this week we wanted to try Yovani's. Heard lots of great things about it on fb so we tried it. They are at the far end of town, so about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic so I knew we'd probably have to reheat the dinners-fish and chips and chicken finger dinner. Husband got home with it and the fish and chips looked amazing! And the chicken fingers were steak tips with onion rings. I was SO disappointed.
