Sorry for the poor review here - but I definitely wanted to share my experience. I have been on the Ideal Protein diet (they call it a "Protocol") twice before - once in Arizona, and once in Kerrville, TX (a small town just over 100 miles Southwest of here - my husband did it the second time, too), so I'm aware of how it works. (The reason that I was on twice before was that each time I started, there was a death in the family that forced a move to a new location, and if you've ever tried a diet or lifestyle change while going through a traumatic event, it generally doesn't work so well.) But, the point is, I've been to other clinics, and know how this works. Please be aware - I HAVE NOT BEEN TO THIS LOCATION - this review is based on phone calls made in trying to establish myself and my husband as clients here. (The reason that I chose this location is that the diet generally requires short weekly appointments, and they have late afternoon and Saturday hours.) On two different occasions, I called in during business hours to get information/make an appointment, and both times the phone went to voicemail and I left a message. On each occasion, I did receive a return phone call - but it wasn't until close of business the next day. This concerned me, as I wondered how responsive they would be if I became their client. But I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because, hey, sometimes you're not able to call someone back as quickly as you'd like, right? Both times that I got a response back: I spoke with Stephanie the first time, and she left me a message the second, and each time I got different information. Again - not a good sign. And the reason for this review - details follow, and the info that I was given... When you go on Ideal Protein, there is a start-up fee. This is because your first appointment is long, they answer a lot of questions, and take photos and measurements, etc. Generally speaking, if you move to another place, and have already been a client somewhere else, the new clinic does not charge this fee. Here, however, they do. On my first call, I was told that because it has been over a year since I've been on IP, that it would cost $100 EACH for my husband and me to come back. I questioned this, explaining that I had not seen this practice before and was told that it was because things change, and it takes up the coach's time, and if the money was going to keep us from coming, that she would talk to the coach and see if it could be reduced to $50 each. So, which is it? For two of us, that would mean $200, or $100, depending on their decision... Which wouldn't be charged anywhere else. So I tried calling some other locations, and talked with my husband, and we decided that if $100 was the answer, that we would just suck it up and do it - again, they're the only ones around with late/Saturday hours. So I called them back, and as mentioned earlier - I left them another message "have been on before, looking for a clinic here...", and waited another day for a response. Because I left a detailed message, Stephanie did leave a detailed message for me when she returned my call. "Starting with them wold cost $75 each, blah, blah, blah." Wait... what? So is it $100 to start, or $50 if the coach feels like it or $75, based on today's call? At that point, I'd had enough, and just decided to go with a different clinic - even if their hours weren't as good. Bottom line - at the new clinic, Cedar Park Surgeons - NO fee as a repeat IP client, and a Nutritionist with a Master's degree. Not knocking any other coaches, but Coach LaChanda is a true rock star! I have been a client of LaChanda for several years...even before she joined IWAS...and she is the reason I continue to return to IWAS. Her method of coaching is managing life, and all the challenges it presents. She approaches her clients as real people who each have their own struggles and works to arm each person with tools to face those challenges in a thoughtful, logical manner that leads to a lifetime of success, not just making a goal weight for that wedding dress or that trip to the Caribbean. We were curious, so we stopped in one day. The offices are quite nice, as are most of the people working there that we encountered. The plan itself... perhaps it's 'ideal' for a specific audience. That audience: Well off financially, doesn't want to exercise to lose weight, is willing to each tiny portions and/or huge ultra-bland salads. Did I say the price was astronomical? It was. The person who saw us was a great salesperson to the plan. We should have walked away to think about it. Likely... we would have passed. After one day we wish we had our money back. With a little effort and discipline, we could get all our items for success ourselves at a fraction of the cost. Did I mention the price is astronomical? Outside the plan we were paying for their 'consulting and expertise'... hmmmm. Well since we were in the same room listening to someone mostly bloviate as the content was relevant to their knowledge, not our success, shouldn't we have been charged for one person, not two? And how is that measurable? I know what ketosis is... do I really need to pay hundreds to hear definitions and descriptions? At the end of the day for the average customer... it seems this is for the wealthy that don't mind hearing all the science and spending all the money.... and don't want to work out. Most of the people were quite nice; a plus. We ran into one... the last person... that didn't seem to listen or be interested in the feedback. Interestingly, the person that sold us on the deal was already gone..... In addition, the comments from the owner show exactly why this experience was poor for us. Character is shown during adversity and challenge, not nearly as much during positive review and feedback. We stand by the experience we shared in this review, and after spending $600 for one week, we did not post this review to receive the freebie (against guidelines of this site). read more

I have been struggling with my weight my entire adult life and having Hashimoto Hypo-thyroidism and a very sluggish metabolism, it has been next to impossible to lose weight. That is UNTIL I met Dr. Smith thorough BNI and the staff at IWAS. After a consult and going on Facebook to poll my friends (who all highly recommended Ideal Protein too), I decided it was worth a shot. Now, I have been on the program for five months (along with my daughter-in-law) and both of us have taken off 55 pounds so far and we are nearing the half way mark to our original goal. In the past 11 weeks I have lost 26 lbs with the support of Ideal Weight and Skin clinic. My coach Kelsey and I meet weekly to talk about the ups and downs on this journey and for weight check-in. I have to confess that sometimes I eat something out of protocol, but Kelsey encourage me to continue the journey and learned from mistakes. I still have at least another 30-40 lbs to, but I'm sure I will continue coming to this clinic to get yummy products and for accountability on the process. Oh! And they do a very cool 3D scan of your body that provides great accuracy on all measures. We've been very happy working with our Ideal Protein coach, Eugenie. My husband and I are having good results and we are never rushed through our appts. Eugenie keeps an eye on our food logs and offers suggestions on how to improve. She measures us every other week and weighs us weekly. This location has evening hours so that you can check in after work during the week. They also sell many packets individually which is very helpful. You can try different items before you commit to buying 7 at a time. I highly recommend this location for Ideal Protein diets. read more

I have been working with Stefani for a couple of years using the Ideal Protein Weight loss products. It has been the only program where I have successfully lost weight. So far I have lost 40 pounds, was able to stop taking blood pressure meds (normal for 2 years now) and feel better than I have for a long time. The products taste great and the clinic provides me with great meal ideas and suggestions. I do have more to go to get where I want to be, but I know Stefani will be there for me to guide me through this process.
