BUYER BEWARE! I went to RENEW MED SPA (Georgetown, Tx) because I wanted to lose weight. Everything was fine until I realized that it wasn't. I signed up for the 4 month program for $999. That included one injection each week for 16 weeks. They asked if I wanted the injections given at the clinic or would I give them to myself at home. Because I lived 30 minutes away and knew how to give injections, I asked that they give me the first one in the clinic and I would inject the rest weekly at home. I also asked as I was leaving the office if I owed any more money. They said no, the $999 I had paid was for the 4 month program. Also, was specifically told NOT to follow the amounts to be taken each week as specified on the vial from the pharmacy, but instead to follow their written amounts in the directions they gave me. The written amounts were more than the amounts specified on the vial from the pharmacy which I now realize was intentional to make me run out of product before my program finished. Well, after the first month, I realized that something about the vial quantity wasn't right. It didn't look like it was going to last 4 months. So, I called and was told that I misunderstood about how much to take. Hmm? I was shown 25 on syringe when "whoever" gave me my first injection. So, that is what I was injecting 25 units a week for the first month. Just saying the syringes are marked for "mg" and "units". It was not clarified during my first injection appointment that I was supposed to be following UNITS, not MG. Also, the UNITS word is at the base of the syringe and unless you know its there, you can't see it. When they told me that "I" had misunderstood and was only supposed to be taking 10 units a week for the first month. Okay, I agreed to back off on my injection amounts to even them out to what my written instructions said. I would be back on the correct dosage by the 3rd week (40 units a week) of the 3rd month of the 4 month program. In their written instructions, the vial I got that was supposed to carry me through 4 months only carried me through 3 months (280 UNITS). That meant that I was going to have to go in for a refill for my final month. Written instructions from RMS called for: 1st Month = 10 Units a Week = 40 Units 2nd Month = 20 Units a Week = 80 Units 3rd Month = 40 Units a Week = 160 Units 4th Month = 70 Units a Week = 280 Units TOTAL UNITS = 560 Units = 4 Month Program Pharmacy dosage on vial called for: 1st Month = 9 Units a Week = 36 Units 2nd Month = 18 Units a Week = 72 Units 3rd Month = 36 Units a Week = 144 Units 4th Month = 60 Units a Week = 240 Units TOTAL UNITS = 492 Units = 4 Month Program A difference of 68 UNITS!!!! My original vial only held 280 Units. When I called back for a refill on the bottle for the last month of the program, I was told that would be another $999 but because of the original miscommunication, Kacey told me she would take $100 off. So, now I am understanding that I have to pay another $899 ($999-$100) for the final month of my program when I was told on the first day that what I had paid covered the entire 4 month program. I told her that I did not need another 3 month vial. I only wanted to finish out my original 4 month program. When I received the vial for my remaining month, it was 1/4 the size of my original vial. So now do I follow instructions on the vial (pharmacy instructions said 32 Units each week for a month) or written instructions from RENEW MED SPA (70 Units each week for my final month)? I am taking pictures of everything in this last month and also I have kept written records of everything. I suggest that if you do use them. Get a written estimate before you pay anything showing a written breakdown of how many units are in each vial and exactly how long it will take you to go through that vial per their directions. Also, have a breakdown of how many units that $999 covers. In hindsight, I would also ask them why you should follow their directions and not the pharmacy's directions. Also, make them give you the injections. When I talked to Kacey (the owner) about the 1st month's miscommunication and told her that I had kept records of my injection amounts and dates taken, her exact words were, " Well, those injections weren't given here in the office so how do I know those amounts are correct?" In other words, she called me a liar! Now, just an FYI, I taught Business Practices and Ethics for 28 years so I am very precise in keeping my records. read more

Did the membership (because was told it was cheaper this way than by paying per treatment). To me, treatment was not worth what I paid ($250 for a 10 min treatment) and when I went to cancel my membership, was told I have to give a 30 day notice so I would be billed again even though I don't need the service. I tried to cancel 28 days out and that's not enough time for them to cancel it? Ridiculous. Would've been nice if the lady at the front desk would've told me this when I told her to cancel my membership, but of course she told me to email to cancel (couldn't do it while I was standing in front of her) so that she wouldn't have to deal with me in person. Overall, not happy with service results or the way I was treated after being a 6 month member. Won't be going back. read more

Suffice to say - if you do injectables, since they lost their regular technician, you get a new person each time you go. On my last visit the person that performed my service was not good at all. For the first time ever, it didn't "take". So I had to go back to have it corrected - only to be charged additional money and have that application barely work as well. I never had a chance to go to Renew. I booked a facial there and was treated very short and rudely on the phone while scheduling bc I asked about the Yelp 15% discount. I got off the call and called my husband-- To my surprise he had booked me a facial the same day at a different location and already paid a deposit for it. I immediately called back Renew to cancel my original appointment-- all within 15 minutes. I heard an audible huff and puff and got a "OK BYE" with an unnecessarily strong hang up after I told her the situation and I apologized for the mixup/inconvenience. I will not be trying them in the future and wouldn't recommend them as just 2 quick phone calls and 5 minutes of interactions were so poorly handled. My first review will be for the massage services I have received from Rhonda. She is so wonderful. I had an injury to my back that was old, and kept coming back. One month of treatment with her, and I am good as new. She is incredibly accommodating, understanding that pain does not only come when convenient. Rhonda is very down to earth, personable and caring. This is the ONLY place I have gone back to for repeat massages from the same therapist. Updated to 1 star after having the displeasure of talking to the owner who called me to hear what had happened and then promptly cut me off when she didn't like what I had to say. She made excuses saying that I shouldn't have expected a good massage and facial because they are a "Med Spa" and not a "Day Spa." They sell Spa services and have women in robes sipping champagne on their website, common imagery for a Spa, but since it's not their specialty, they don't have to know what they are doing or be good at it. Maybe the woman I spent 15 min scheduling all my services could have mentioned massage and facials aren't their specialty or perhaps don't sell services you can't stand behind. I have had two appointments at Renew Med Spa, the first was with Dani, which I went in initially for waxing but after speaking with her she explained their laser treatment packages that was an unlimited special package ending that day so I did it. Dani did a wonderful job and I enjoyed the experience very much and it was much better than waxing. My 2nd experience was with Leila one month later (Dani was out ill). Two days after my 2nd laser treatment I developed itching burning red dots from my knees down so I called in to the office to let them know. They told me it sounded like a normal histamine reaction and may last a couple of weeks. Each day my legs got worse and worse, they were itching and burning horribly and my legs were actually swollen around my ankles. As of today I have what looks to be permanent spotted scaring on my legs that is horribly ugly but when I went in to the office because they wanted to see my legs I was told those spots will go away. We will just have to wait and see for that. I've never had an allergy in my life and this only happened from my knees down on both legs and not on any other part of my body that I had the laser treatment on which again was odd and makes no sense. After many emails and texts back and forth with the owner Kacey she said from the beginning she wanted me to email her pictures so I did. I also went to my regular doctors office and shared with other esthetician friends and there thoughts were the laser was up to high and I was burned in the pours on my legs. Of course I requested a refund as the package was over $2,800.00 and I was not going to risk that happening again. This all started in January and the back and forth conversations have been going on for a couple months now. I was told by Kacey I would be refunded but two weeks had gone by and no refund so I once again asked about it and was talked to and treated terribly and Kacey told me "this is not about money". She also told me the refunds were all sent and would take a few days to receive which we were already well beyond a few days. I just received the 2nd part of my refund yesterday 3/5/2021 so it obviously wasn't sent. Of course the $200.00 tip I gave up front when purchasing the package is non refundable and lesson learned on that - I had felt pressure when I purchased the package when I was asked to add a tip to it at that time, so I did without thinking it through that my gal may or may not be doing the upcoming services. Kacey told me when I asked her about getting the tip refunded for services that hadn't been used and were not going to be used she basically told me that I am taking money away from her staffs way of living and that I keep asking for more and more. She had several other rude comments as well but you can only write so much. I'm not a person that Yelps bad reviews EVER but this one was necessary to say the least. There seems to be no concern on Kacey's part of what I have been going through the past several weeks, up all night with the itching and burning, not going out in public because I couldn't wear long pants because of the itching and burning and flat out disgusting look my legs have. Still have not been able to even shave my legs yet. Honestly, I do not believe these spots will ever go away and my legs will indeed be permanently scared. Once again lesson learned the hard way and I do not trust this business owner Kacey at all, therefore I would never return for ANY services at all for that reason. Now going BACK to my regular doctor for further care. read more

A glass of wine, a beautiful atmosphere and not one detail forgotten. Treasa was so mindful to keep me comfortable and took her time with every step (including numerous hot towels- love!).
