I was brought to the exam room and we talked about what I was trying to achieve. I had only bought 20 units of Botox and I knew I probably needed a bit more. The technician/nurse (what do you call the person who puts the good stuff in your forehead?) said she could do 30, 28, or just the 20 I purchased, and explained the advantages of each. I really appreciated that she didn't pressure me or try hard to upsell me but I knew I probably needed 28 so I purchased additional. She did her magic and that was that! On my way. She said it might take 2 weeks to see my results, but 4 days later, I am already seeing it start to work! What more can I ask for? So happy I came here. My initial visit set up, I had over the phone and text called to inquire on the April 2026 special of BBL&Moxi for $499 which is a very good price point when I compared it to the medical services I get today from Westlake Dermatology via a board certified plastic surgeon MD. I was very apprehensive about the visit and seeking Laser services but my consultation, skin analysis and care in the hands of Nurse Olivia was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable about addressing my typical skin care issues, the products I currently use and what I wanted to treat with the laser treatments, primarily melasma and sun spots with my skin Fitzpatrick type. With going through assessment, Nurse Olivia gave me a more professional and conservative approach at not trying to do too much with my first treatment and decided we would want to do BBL in the winter and focus on Moxi to address collagen growth, reducing of pores, redness and acne scarring along with fading sun spots. The skin analysis was fun to do, and with getting things along for Moxi, topical numbing was applied to my face and after this kicked in, she very much checked in with me on the treatment and explained to the newbie that I am pre and post care behavior and what to expect in the days following. I had such a great and positive experience in her hands and care at Maui, and look forward to returning after I heal and see the final treatment after mends wraps! A few notes I am curious on are, when I asked about the pricepoint if not doing BBL and just Moxi for face and neck (since the April special was a specific price point) and if I would see a price difference, it was actually more expensive to do Moxi alone on my face and neck, and I was charged $550. Not a big deal since they had already incurred the $50 deposit but I was a little miffed at how less services rendered when removing BBL ended up costing me more. There is a monthly membership where you can benefit from Botox and microneedling and Moxi (limited to several in an annual visit) that makes this spot a very good option in appointment availability and financial benefit! The office staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and attentive in all of my questions and I did enjoy my visit. One note I've seen at medspa's I've visited is the gratuity prompt appears at checkout terminal, and since I'm always there for medical services, decline this on hefty medical procedures. There was no negative feedback in me doing so (I've had this elsewhere when receiving Botox or microneedling at medspas, which is why i started seeing MD/nurses only) Maui Medspa is wonderful in getting me to my skin care goals and keeping us safe and healthy in the greater Austin market! I only posted one picture because it's too traumatic but my skin looks worse than it ever had in my life after my treatment. My skin hurts and feels like it's still burning. The don't take any time to make sure you are getting the best treatment for your skin type and they don't give you options either or take the time to listen to you or educate you. You are just another number and they could care less. Not only did the problem seem to enlarge and darken all around my skin but my skin looks damaged and I don't have skin that scars easily or damages easily or is super sensitive. I don't have any scars on my face or body. I have always had good and positive experiences with Estheticians and Dermatologist. Run from this place and don't make the same mistake I made.
