I chose Synergy because my sister had a wonderful experience there a few years ago, so I went into my consultation with high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. Cosmetic surgery requires a tremendous amount of confidence in a practice. Unfortunately, I left feeling more like a price tag than a patient, and more like a scheduling problem than someone whose time, comfort, and vulnerability mattered. To start with the positives, the staff was friendly, and I fully understand that emergencies happen in a medical practice. I respect that the doctor prioritized a patient who needed immediate attention, and I would never fault a physician for taking care of someone in an urgent situation. My frustration comes from everything surrounding that emergency and how it was handled. I originally scheduled my consultation at the Austin location more than two weeks in advance. The day before my appointment, I was informed that Austin's AC was out and asked to drive to the Round Rock location instead. I expressed concern about the additional distance and asked whether I should simply reschedule. I was assured there was availability, told I would get to meet directly with a doctor, and offered a waived consultation fee for making the change. I adjusted my schedule, took the entire day off work instead of a half day, drove the extra distance, arrived early, completed my paperwork, and was brought back promptly. After a brief discussion, the doctor asked me to change into a robe so we could continue the consultation. After changing, I sat alone in the exam room for more than 45 minutes. One staff member did check on me about 20 minutes in and explained that the doctor had been pulled into an emergency. I appreciated the update. However, after that, there was no communication. No one offered me the option to reschedule, gave me an estimated wait time, or discussed alternatives. I sat there needing to use the restroom, feeling vulnerable, and wondering if anyone remembered I was there. Eventually, I opened the door myself and asked whether I should reschedule because it was clear the doctor would be occupied for quite some time. What bothered me most was not the emergency itself. It was the feeling that the practice tried to fit additional patients into a location that simply wasn't prepared for the increased volume. If the Round Rock office couldn't reasonably accommodate the added appointments, I would have preferred to be rescheduled from the beginning rather than spend roughly three hours driving round-trip and leave without the consultation I came for. By the time the doctor returned and offered to continue, the trust was gone. During my wait, I also witnessed another patient leave after expressing frustration about an extended delay and wanting her time respected as well. I genuinely believe Synergy has many satisfied patients, including my sister. However, first impressions matter--especially when deciding whether to trust a practice with elective surgery. First, let me say that Synergy Plastic Surgery is the 5th or 6th office that I have spoken to and finally landed on. Here's why. The staff is SO helpful, professional and kind. I spoke with Margaret as my patient coordinator and she went above and beyond answering all of my questions on multiple calls and a FaceTime as I don't live in Texas anymore. She didn't try to upsell me on anything and only discussed options after I brought them up myself (the FIRST practice that hasn't tried to upsell me). She made me feel like I was family, and TRULY cared about my results and happiness. Then I met with Dr. Mehta in person and he was so professional. He also was the only Dr. who hasn't pointed out other flaws or tried to upsell me on procedures. Actually, it was almost the opposite. I previously posted a photo of my breasts because I was extremely disappointed and angry with this office & Dr. Kerr. I own that. I received a horrible breast reduction that should have been made right but wasn't. When I spoke to Dr. Kerr about it, he told me that it could be redone at additional cost. One with Dr. Blagg in 2019 and it was life changing. This year I decided to come back for another procedure and I was with Dr. Mehta. These surgeons spend a lot of time with you telling You all the things to expect. I was always able to reach my surgeon personally day or night if I needed anything, and they called me the evening after my surgery to make sure I was comfortable and my meds were doing what they should do. I had a breast augmentation yesterday with Dr. Mehta. I was expecting so much more pain than I am actually in. I feel right but great. The staff both at the round rock and south austin office were amazing and the surgery center staff was just as great. I have a hearing loss and typically lip read so my consultation I asked Dr Mehta if he could remove his mask so I could lip ready. He sees numerous patients a day and he remembered this at both my pre op and surgery date, I didn't have to ask if I could lip read again. This alone told me everything I needed to know about him. I knew at my pre op appointment when he removed his mask to speak to me I made the right choice with him. On surgery day: I'm terrified of needles and Tiffany got it in in one shot and I was totally fine. She was so sweet and kept me calm all morning. I also went back and forth on the size I wanted up until I went in for surgery and they were so accommodating with my lack of ability to decide. I have been a patient on both the plastic surgery and medspa side and can say I have been very happy with Synergy all around. Dr.Kerr is my plastics doctor, he performed a tummy tuck and extended brachioplasty and I'm very happy with my results thus far. I hadn't found any other surgeons who were willing to do both of those surgeries at the same time due to complexity, but Dr. Kerr was and I'm beyond thankful for that as those were two areas of major insecurity for me after mass weight loss and he was able to take care of both in one surgery vs. multiple surgeries. His bedside manner is very pleasant and he gave off the impression that he really cared about me accomplishing this major milestone of mine. I appreciate that immensely. He's just really freakin nice. I will definitely be going to him again for future surgery. For the medspa side, I see Regina at the Westlake location. I've had a few different treatments done (dermaplaning, micro needling, diamond glow) and enjoyed them all. Regina is great, does great work, and I always enjoy my appointments with her, plus she's so fast I'm in and out in less than 30 minutes every time while still getting great quality treatments. The staff overall are great. They're all super friendly and kind. I had an issue with no communication from the patient coordinator getting answers and a date set and when I followed up with her about it she apologized profusely for missing my email and gave me her personal phone number to call/text with whatever I needed and then got me scheduled for surgery immediately. So while no business is perfect, Synergy definitely takes care of their patients. The nurses are fantastic, I'm not very young at 28(not old either) but the surgery nurses made me feel so cared for and like... I don't know... like they were looking out for a younger sibling. It was very soul-warming. One Medical assistant I've seen a couple of times now at the Round Rock location, brooke maybe?, was so kind and patient with me today at my 3 week follow up. Lost my private data several times, had wrong persons data and related to me during pre-op (wrong allergies and Med history), had to do revisions and it was obvious at close of surgery 1 that revisions would be needed, I did not know I would lose my belly button and it looks awful, had breathing problems that were dismissed, lost the photos of my naked body 2xs, asked the same questions over and over even after clarifying, lipo is uneven. My review is not for the doctor himself, but of my experience with the woman who was in charge of helping me choose the right size for my implants. I went in the strong belief that I wanted to go from a 30a to a 30d-dd. I told the woman that I didn't want to go too big for what my body could handle, and initially decided on a 400cc high profile implant. However, the woman suggested I try on the bigger sizes and kept insisting I go bigger. She kept saying things such as "you'll regret it if you don't go bigger," "the biggest complaint we see is people wishing they had gone bigger" "I wish I had gone bigger." "I keep asking Dr. Kerr, 'When can I go bigger?'" "I would choose the 480cc" and so on. After hearing these phrases and others, I decided to trust her. Dr. Kerr saw the decision and amended it to 470cc ultra high profile. Well here I am, nearly 5 months later, and my boobs are too big. I'm a 30ddd. I have to order all my bras online from pricey specialty stores. Heres why I think they're too big: 1) there's too much top boob and no natural slope. It's a very noticeable round top. When I had asked the woman if my breasts would still look natural she told me that they would look decently natural, just a little too 'perfect'. Well they do not look natural or too perfect. The bump looks weird in pictures and questionable in person. Just plain bad naked. 2) There's not enough room. They're too firm because theres not enough skin/ space for them to move around. On top of that, the lack of space makes it uncomfortable when they're moved around/played with. I'm sad because I'm a young college student who worked very hard for four years to afford this procedure with the top surgeon in south Texas and I can't possibly afford to have them re done. If I hadn't been pressured by the sizing lady I would have chosen a significantly smaller size and I believe that I would be more happy with my results. I wish the doctor had been in the room to help guide and inform me more on my sizing choice and give another opinion besides "bigger is better" which is all I got from the sizing lady. My surgeon, Dr. Kerr, did a great job with the actual surgery and he does deserve credit for that,which is why I gave 2 stars. My recovery time was very quick and relatively pain free. I was back to my usual self in about a week, and sleeping normally on my stomach again in about 6 weeks. I believe if I had a smaller implant I would be significantly happier with my results. read more

All had different doctors and I looked into several of them. I talked to a few on the phone and met with some others, however after meeting with Dr. Kerr and Vlasta I felt so comfortable with them and the meeting I went ahead with the procedure. The pre-op appointments were very informational as there is so much to think about especially when this is YOUR body and YOU have to look in the mirror every day. I am so thankful that I made the decision to do this and put my trust into Dr. Kerr. Surgery day was a little scary but after I got there all fear went away. They took into consideration that I had difficulties with anesthesia as well as pain medication and made some modifications so I would not have any adverse reactions which all went well with no issues. The follow up appointments were also wonderful as they always made me feel comfortable. It is now 5 months later and I am extremely thrilled with the outcome and so is my husband. The staff at Synergy also made my husband as comfortable with everything as well which was very important to me. If someone asked me if I would do it again, the answer is definitely yes and I wouldn't do anything differently. I am so glad I trusted Dr. Kerr with this as I couldn't be happier. read more
