My face has been droopy on the right side for years. I have been getting Botox elsewhere, and just lived with it. It was noticeable enough that an ER doctor thought I may have had a stroke. Needless to say, Dr. Rhoad fixed it! I did not even point it out and, after injections, that side was raised. I cried when I got home and saw how perfectly normal I looked. She is also conservative with injections and very carefully examines the face and only gives them as needed. Not all over like other places. I am so happy with her treatment! I purchased a living social/groupon for 2 IPLs. My experience with each of the IPLs were inconsistent regarding additional charges and basic skin preparation by the esthetician. The staff and decor is nice enough, but I didn't really have the professional or medspa experience I've had with other local practices. My rating is specific to the 2 visits. The first visit I was taken to a room, handed numbing cream and instructed to clean my face and put on the cream. They were busy and there was some commotion when I got there. Anyway, sat in the room for 45 minutes without any explanation. The IPL was very hot/painful even with the numbing cream and I didn't really get much results with hyperpigmentation. (I did go to another medspa between visits and had noticeable results with my pigmentation issues.) At the end of the visit I was quite surprised to be charged $10 for the numbing cream without being told there would be an additional charge, especially since I hadn't asked for numbing. Second and last visit the esthetician applied the numbing cream and wiped it off for me. She literally wiped off the cream with a tissue while I was in a sitting position (as opposed to reclined). I found it odd to be handed a teddy bear to hold during the procedure, I would have rather had her prep my skin more gracefully. This visit I was charged and additional $20 for numbing. I didn't question, just paid and left. I did get better results this last IPL. --- I think my expectations aren't out of the ordinary or particularly needy or difficult. Prior to the procedure, I want to be notified of any additional charges. I am fine with a more "clinical" experience than "medspa", however I expect my face to be properly cleansed and prepped by the esthetician in a reclined position. Please don't make me walk through the hall with a wrap on - I'd rather undress in the room I will receive the procedure in. Lastly, if there are delays - pop in every 15 min to let me know how much longer instead of leaving me sit there as I don't want to wander the hall with goop on my face to inquire what's going on. read more

I am responding to the response from Rhoad To Beauty and who ever wrote the response for Dr. D. Rhoad. I did come in for a follow up, I was scheduled before I left the day of my original appointment. When I came to my follow up appointment ON TIME, there was another lady in the tiny little waiting area that apparently had something done to her eyes as she was extremely bruised up. She was upset and said she had been waiting an hour and a half for her follow up appointment. The receptionist "Julie" I believe her name was, she was crying and said that the Dr. had yelled at her . There was an argument of some sort going on in the back and so I just left. I find it very interesting that your receptionist is also one of the people who has given your facility a positive review. Below is what I wrote to Groupon to get a refund on my purchase. Only good thing about this place is a frontdesk lady(Julie? I believe) was very helpful and nice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've purchased 2 sessions of "Medical grade" chemical peels(One or Two Medical-Grade Chemical Peels at Rhoad to Beauty MedSpa (Up to 84% Off)) I thought that I'd be getting a treatment by the Dr. but the person who gave me the treatment was an aesthetician. I wasn't sure why they even put all the information about the Dr. on the Groupon ads when I didn't even get to meet her? I've only received one treatment by the lady name Molly and she didn't even clean my face(I had a full makeup since I was coming directly from work) and applied whatever chemical that is "Medical grade". My face was burning and she asked me hold a tiny handheld fan that is only working when you press down where the battery connections are. I couldn't believed that the value of this one treatment was $300. All she did was putting some kind of chemical liquid on my face and let it burn for about 10 mins. Avery nice lady at the frontdesk told me that the peeling will start almost at the end of the week if I get a treatment on Tuesday, so I did. I saw a little tiny peels under my nose and around my mouth. No peeling on any other area whatsoever. I made an appointment for the 2nd session when I was checking out on my first visit and they redeemed both of my vouchers. I received a call to confirm my appt.(for Monday, 4/7) today so I've asked them if there is anyway that I could go with a different aesthetician. Their answer was "NO" because they only have Molly. She is the only one person who can give out the treatment. I really don't want to get another treatment from that lady again and I'd like to get a refund. Also, I think it is a false advertisement on their part about putting the Dr.'s information when the treatment is done by an aesthetician. And there is no way that those two treatment would've cost $600. I'd appreciate it if you could let me know what I need to do to get a full refund. I could go buy a product that could be used to get a better result. read more

Went for an IPL - had misinformed me about my appointment, so had to return the next day. Had asked to book a Juvederm fill at the same appointment, but they never put that on the books, but said "not a problem, Dr. Rhoads can do you right away." Well, two hours late when I went to say I did not wish to wait any longer, the Dr suddenly was available. Had Juvederm twice before, both times administered by a nurse practitioner - so thought WOW I actually have the plastic surgeon doing it - this will be great. WRONG - she seemed oblivious as to what I wanted though I really thought I was being clear, and so she just started injecting the Juvederm, and I was terribly disappointed with the outcome. I will return to my med spa in Dallas next time - they did such a great job...I just thought since I'd moved to Austin, I should find someone here. But better to stick with someone I am confident know what they are doing. Will not use Dr. Rhoads services again. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Rhoad. She's a great listener, never rushes, very gentle with administering injectables, her prices are great and she's a an bona fide plastic surgeon. I feel very safe with her and know that she genuinely cares about her patients. She doesn't push you to do more than you came for and she has a great eye for a very natural, pretty, refreshed look. My husband bought a Groupon for me for an IPL facial. I called to schedule before the expiration and was booked for an appt. about 2 months out because of the popularity. I was then contacted by their office 3 times over the coming weeks and asked to reschedule for various reasons. I was understanding because I know businesses can get overwhelmed with these deals. Finally I thought we had a final appt booked, but when I showed up, they had me still on the previous date, and a different time. Their books showed how many times I had been rescheduled. They were apologetic, but their only solution was to reschedule AGAIN. I had driven over 30 min to get there, not to mention the gas, toll roads and just plain wasted time, and that is all they offered. At this point I am just hoping Groupon refunds my money. My present ended up with me taking a loss...very disappointing. Won't return or recommend... read more
