Strengthening hips. Proper back posture. Etc. and it's not all old people. People of all ages. And a few men, and even pregnant ladies T times. My friends and family constantly hear. "Dixie says...." Today my daughter, friend(fellow yoga instructor) and I did a restorative yoga class with Dixie Metz. First of all she had her last child in her forties and I too am having babies in my forties. I can only dream and hope that when my youngest is 16 that my body looks half as good as hers. However, it goes beyond looks it is good health that Dixie exudes! She has spent years learning and growing her craft which she pours into you during your session. The price she charges is a steal for the tools she gives you. My daughter's posture(swimmer) was noticeably better after one session. My friend, fellow yoga instructor, also commented after the session how much she enjoyed the class. I have been a member at Your Yoga for about a month now and I don't ever want to leave. The instructors are not only amazing at what they do, they're also genuinely wonderful people. Whether you need a fat-burning workout or a relaxing meditative session, Your Yoga does it all, and I come out of every class with new insight and knowledge that I can apply to both working out and my daily life. Not to mention you CANNOT beat their prices and they have been extremely accommodating during the pandemic. All classes are offered virtually and in-person classes are socially distanced. I'm pretty surprised by the good ratings. Yes this place was cheap and I'm no yoga pro but the classes I went to were pretty awful. I had the same teacher for each class and all she does is talk. I mean didn't stop. Yoga is supposed to be restorative and zen. The people were nice but this instructor Dixie? Was not professional. If you want to learn I guess it's okay but please understand real yoga taught by proper instructors is better. read more

This is the best yoga class I've ever been to. The classes range from kick-your-butt to downright relaxing (I fell asleep once!) I believe the technical terms for each class are hatha flow, gentle, and restorative yoga. After a few of the hard classes, I already felt more in shape and able to handle it all. Dixie is a great teacher and is super fun and supportive. I'm hoping if I keep it up I'll look like her someday! A girl can dream :) Oh, and you can't beat the price!!! read more

Best yoga studio I've been to, and I've been to quite a few over the years. Your Yoga is what most yoga studios only hope to be: All inclusive, comfortable, challenging, and fun. Someone I met before class put it best that she was always told to judge a place by how many generations are present. Your Yoga definitely has a diverse group of participants of all age groups, ethnicities, and gender. A lot of the corporate run studios seem pretty cookie cutter and exclusive. A stereotype of the privileged "yoga practitioner" exists for a reason. This studio manages to not be pretentious in the least. Yeah, there may not be a locker room. But the yoga classes are fantastic. All of the instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. Dixie is funny and makes you feel welcome, throwing in cool anatomy explanations occasionally that I love (I am a big anatomy nerd). Jessica kicks my butt in power yoga and helps me get to a relaxed state in a snap. They also even offer a yoga workshop weekly (yoga for beginners) where you can bring up questions more easily and get tips on how to improve your poses. And the regular classes don't get too repetitive since the instructors have different styles and like to throw in new things to change things up (watch for when Dixie brings out the evil smiley balls. You'll love/hate them. And I never realized a tennis ball could be used for physical therapy before). Truly, Your Yoga is better than some studios I encountered on the West coast that were $120 a month. I love their lack of pretention and practicality. It's a good balance of restorative/meditative practices mixed with making you sweat. Austin is pretty lucky. read more

I had my first experience with Your Yoga this past Saturday, when I had a private yoga lesson with Dixie Metz. A quick background: I have been trying to lose weight for two years. I've managed to lose 30 lbs, but have been "held back" from time to time because of joint pain that came as a result of boot camps and tennis. Even going into my lesson with Dixie, I was experiencing lower back pain and hip pain. Dixie was great - she helped me through movements in ways that didn't aggravate my back and hips. Despite being overweight, I happen to know quite a bit about my body, posture, and proper form for a number of exercises and stretches, yet I learned even more! Following the class, Dixie recommended a few other classes there at the studio that would work out well for me at my stage of yoga knowledge (previously my only experiences came from Gold's Gym or DVDs). If you are new or new-ish to yoga, I highly recommend a private lesson with Dixie, or one of her fundamentals classes, to really learn the moves correctly. Far better than jumping into a pricey Yoga Yoga studio and feeling like you need to catch up. One final thing, this place is very reasonably priced! My one-hour private lesson with Dixie Metz was just $30 and probably saved me a ton of frustration for my first class. Drop in classes are available for $5 each. Though it doesn't save you any money, per se, class passes in the amount of 4 or 10 are also available (still averages to $5 per class, either way). Important to note, the yoga studio is in a Tae Kwon Do studio. read more

I love Your Yoga. In fact, I can honestly say it greatly improved my quality of life. Dixie helped me with my lower back pain years ago. Now, weekly yoga keeps my pain managed. All instructors know their stuff. I love how all classes encourage you to do what works for your body. I also love how all instructors explain body mechanics, why we do the poses the way we do, how to translate yoga moves into daily life behaviors, etc... It's really more than just yoga. This place is great! I've never been to yoga before, and all the instructor's have been very informative and kind. The classes are just as described on the website, and they take you through every pose gently. I have ankylosing spondylitis and need to keep moving, but I never found a studio that I could afford. I got the Groupon, and am not going to go anywhere else. I love it here!!! I wouldn't mind more classes, especially the gentle ones, but the studio is shared with a TaeKwonDo class, so I understand. You'll love Dixie and the other ladies, they are very professional yet friendly. If ignore the one bad review they got, this place rocks!!! read more

I got a great deal on a Groupon for Your Yoga and what a great find! It's inside of a taekwondo place so I don't think I would have tried it without the Groupon. The instructors try very hard to make you feel like your not in a karate studio and I appreciate it. The back wall is all windows so at night you can see lightning bugs during the candlelight classes. Class schedule is great, instructors are so nice and the classes really are all levels. You can take it as easy or as difficult as you want. The prices are also super reasonable. Would recommend this studio to anyone in the area. read more

I had a very good experience here. I liked the teacher, the ambience, and the music for their Sunday night restorative class. The price is also great! My only complaint is smell. It's in a taekwando studio and it smells like stinky feet! I had a hard time relaxing. Maybe an essential oil diffuser for classes would be nice :) read more

You are challenged yes, but you work as hard as you feel/able at your individual level with no pressure. That is one of the wonderful things about her classes! I started writing this years (literally like 4/5) ago & I didn't realize I never finished it. I have sense moved FAR away from Your Yoga :( but I would still 100% recommend it! I attended classes there all the way up until I had to move. This is my review I started SO long ago: " I have a gym membership at a gym that offers yoga but had always been intimindated by the large class size and unpersonal feeling of the gym yoga classes; so I had been looking for a place that was not only affordable but close to home to take my first official yoga class. One day while out running errands I happened to see the sign for Your Yoga. I got home and checked out the website and sent Dixie an email asking for some more info. She got back to me right away and before I knew it I was starting class (she even lets you check it out for free for 2 weeks to make sure you will like it!) I have been attending Dixies classes for about a year now and absolutely LOVE it! I have sense tried other yoga classes but Dixies is still my favorite by far. It is a great workout and Dixie is always incorporating something new so you will never get bored. The restorative classes are great as well when you need to give your body and mind some good TLC. I love this! Even after 3 years, I still love it. Dixie's classes have such a great atmosphere. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace. Each week she changes the routine slightly so you won't get bored, but it never gets too difficult to keep up with. This is a very unintimidating atmosphere. Just took a restorative class here with April. The class was composed of a only a few poses to help you relax and focus on your breathing. It was fantastic! Candles are lit and the music is very soothing. Highly recommend this class and this instructor. This place in general is definitely my favorite yoga studio! read more
