My Vinyasa Practice has exceeded my expectations and blown away my personal perception of what I thought this experience would hold for me.
Online Yoga Teacher Training, it sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it?
How will you learn without a human correcting your asana?
Realizing that I already have had excellent, in person human feedback over many years, that this next part could be done virtually; with determination, bravery and a strong faith that this journey was mine for the taking.
Choosing My Vinyasa Practice; this was what most websites were calling the number 1 rated online teacher training course; initially to experience what was thought to be an advancement in my current daily practice.
What I received was UNLIMITED accessibility to classes, practice, lectures, movies, books, peer support, office hours (even with the founder), podcasts, more classes from affiliates, and on and on. Endless amounts of knowledge sharing both personal and professional. From the holistic attitude, and the "uplifting collective consciousness" approach of founder Michelle Young, who, from where I stand, seems to have a very active seat at this table, to the embarrassment of riches of resources and practice that is available 24/7, it's truly a well oiled machine.
I have a busy life, I have been wanting to take a local teacher training course, but the time investment was too much to take away from a job, a small business, writing, family, responsibilities.
My Vinyasa Practice also employees teachers who have impressive yoga teacher lineage (the yoga students (now teachers) that have been taught by teachers tracing back to some of the founders of yoga in this century and prior.) What this means is that they are great teachers!
If you think that you are too: Fill in the bank - Old, young, inflexible, unmotivated, whatever, you are wrong. I am 54 years old, I have impingements in both hips; which challenges me. I also have developed an unhealthy appetite for anxiety; thank you global pandemic.
This purchase; albeit a much more affordable one than anticipated, was a gift to myself that I accept and appreciate.
I have to say that whether we are in a pandemic or not (although, why not take advantage of the extra time to be able to finish your YTT training. The Yoga Alliance awarded MVP the privilege to allow students who start YTT Training in 2021 to finish it in this same calendar year) I would recommend this to anyone who wants to teach or take their practice to the next level.
My interests are focused towards teaching yoga in a non- profit arena to small groups or one on one, off the mat as much as on.
In my real life, with work/life stress, anxiety and real world demands, in forty short days of joining My Vinyasa Practice I already feel like I am making a difference with those around me; like magic. A yoga student since 2005, my personal practice has only been a daily one for just shy of 100 days. This has opened doors around me that I never thought possible; of those 100 days, the last forty have been profound.
I am currently enrolled in YTT200, Trauma Informed Yoga Certification, Yoga Therapy for Grief, and Yoga for Anxiety. The immersion into this woman owned company makes you want to be a part of it; now I just need to get them to hire me to write their blog posts ;).
