The variety they planted is Albion, they are huge, pithy inside and despite the farm staff saying they are sweet it is not accurate. They are not juicy or sweet and do not fully ripen on the inside. We picked only fully red fruit and tired to pick all sizes, most were HUGE. Picking the fruits was pretty easy but you did have to spend time looking, plants were not "loaded" with ripe fruit. We pick strawberries for eating fresh and freezing for winter use on cereals. We do not use them for jam, desserts or other dishes where sweetener is added. They may work really well for those purposes. The farm is located in a lovely setting and grows a variety of produce, also available at their stand at the Lane Co Farmers Mkt in Eugene. We can't speak for the other produce. the 3-star score is only for the strawberries. We are veteran u-pick folks in the Eugene area. In our long years of experience this strawberry is underwhelming even if it is organic. Other local farms may not be certified organic, you can always ask the farmer about their practices. We have learned that some use IPM and use organic fertilizer or herbicides very sparingly. The varieties are smaller and much tastier.

Our visit ended up being one of the most memorable stops of the whole trip. This neighborhood grocery story store leans into South Asian food, but with all the usual American staples. The food truck is outside, and all done by one chef. That's to say, the food is made fresh and patience is needed. Thankfully, inside that had a great selection of local and international beer so I bought a 6-pack for us to enjoy while we waited. There were also colorful characters enjoying food and drinks outside who talked with us at length. It was really pleasant to be able to wait comfortably. If you're nearby and looking for light groceries or amazing Indian food, it's worth your time to visit!

The staff is so nice and the food was incredible. I got the butter chicken and naan. It was a huge portion, made fresh, and had such good flavor. The chicken was tender, the rice was fluffy, and there was a nice crunchy cucumber, carrot and onion salad that was fresh and tasty. I got it on the mild side of medium, but next time I'll get it a bit spicier. Check out the market while you wait for your food too! A great find in the neighborhood, and I'll be back for sure!

I went over to the corn area and grabbed a few of the produce bags that are more substantial and was filling them up as I walked around. It was a busy day so I couldn't get in to all the produce until the other customers were done. I tucked a couple of the bags in the front pocket of my purse so that I could reach them easily as I walked around. One of the employees, she was mid 40's with dark curly hair came over to me and demanded that I give her the bags that I had. She said that they cost money and I couldn't take them. I explained that I was not taking them but that I wasn't done shopping. She said "give them to me, and we will bag up whatever needs bagged" She didn't say it quietly, but she was very loud and Karenish. I'm 64 years old and have Never been accused of stealing anything.....let alone cheap bags. I should have walked out but I went and payed $135.00 for what I had already had in my cart. I will never go back, and I have been telling all my friends what happened and I hope they pass it along. That is not how you treat paying customers. Had she waited for me to checkout and if I had any bags remaining in my purse, then maybe she would've been in the right to ask for them back. But not while I was still shopping. That's how people get hurt these days.

My husband and I decided to make a stop by this smally family owned farm, hoping to see pumpkins and purchase some vegetables and fruits. Unfortunately this farm is not dog friendly so our little girl stayed in the car (please note that the temperature was cold and had lightly rained earlier so she was not overheated while she waited a short time for us). We walked inside the open air store and ended up purchasing 2 Empire apples and one zucchini. We haven't had the chance to cook the zucchini yet (will do so tomorrow once we arrive at our AirBnB that has a kitchen) but we ate the apples and they were nice and crisp. The skin of the apple was thick but was good. Loved the color of this apple and the creaminess of the inside. Service was generally friendly and quick (but we were not acknowledged when we first came in, as the 2 employees were having a conversation between themselves, with the backs turned). The unisex restroom that I used was clean and adequately stocked with the essentials. Overall, had a nice experience and would consider coming back if I lived in the area.

We stopped on our way home from a Birthday party at Putter's on highway 99 the other day. We had left over pizza, so we wanted some soda to go with the left overs. We don't keep soda stocked in the house. I was surprised the market was open because they seem to only be open on very limited hours. I don't think they are open on Sundays. I was kind of excited to stop because we had not stopped in, in a while. They usually have these cookies that I make that I have not made in a long time called hot cocoa cookies. They are chocolate crinkles cookies basically, with marshmallows on top, and a chocolate frosting. They are usually very good. We didn't get cake at the party, so I was looking forward to the cookie. Well we got it home and took a bite...it tasted as if it was days old! It was nasty! I was so pissed! I did not even take any more bites! How can they let that sit there for days like that? I make these, and know what they feel, and taste like after a week! It was foul! My guy said he has been in there and was hesitant on even grabbing the cookies because he has seen flies several at a time in food cases. That about made me want to vomit after he told me that. I hope this place picks up their standards, because I used to like to stop in. I used to like to be able to get simple pleasures that I didn't have to make at home. But now...I am not so sure. Quicky mart just for drinks it is!
