Love this farm stand! Thistledown is a great place to buy local produce for a great price. The quality is definitely superior compared to the grocery store - I mean, look at these peppers and broccoli! I also got a giant bundle of kale for $4! While you're out there, also check out Groundworks organic farm!

I have visited here a handful of time over the past 20 years as I grew up in the area. I had never gone to purchase pumpkins, until now! We came in and wow was it busy!! So many people in search of pumpkins, treats, veggies, and hay rides. How fun. We got a basket full of pumpkins, and mums. Then saw people with bags of apple cider donuts. The lady asked us how many bags we wanted- went with one bag (5 donuts inside) they were warm and oh so delicious!! Will definitely be getting those again. $4 for those. Yum. The pumpkins were 45c a pound & 7.49$ for the mums. Beautiful and full. I love it here cause you can get plants, honey, jams, pies, baked goods, bread, veggies, pumpkins, gourds, corn, wine, and so much more!! There were hay rides out to the pumpkin patch for $5, 1 year and older allowed. There were baby goats, ponies, chickens, bunnies for the kids to see and pet. Such a fun and hopping spot for activities. We had fun and even got some chips & salsa too. So much to look at and choose from.

Amazing amount of beautiful pumpkins! Plenty of parking with tons of fresh vegetables to choose from.

The BEST fruit I have ever eaten! We moved from Los Angeles in March 2024 and I wanted to make jam from the local fruit. We visited Thistledown Farms at least once a week, all summer long. They had the most beautiful and flavorful strawberries that I've ever seen in my life. But then there were the Raspberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Marionberries, Peaches, Figs, Apples. Just a fantastic assortment of perfectly ripe fruits. And their vegies! Lettuces, broccoli, you name it. All "farm fresh" and so delicious. I bought flats of fruits and every one was perfectly ripe and ready to use that day. I can't wait to visit again this summer. They also have a wide variety of produce that they don't grow, which is listed as such, and it is good too. The staff is always very nice and helpful. Thistledown is my favorite place to go.

The most beautiful berries I have ever seen! I wanted to make jam this year and we discovered Thistledown Farms. I will never go anywhere else. I buy a flat and come back for more. Every flat has been perfection. The strawberries were the most perfect berries that I have ever seen. So were the raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches. I am delighted to have such wonderful fruit. The veggies are just as great. Green beans, tomatoes, lettuces. Everything that comes from their farm is marked "Thistledown", to differentiate from produce they bring in to give a good selection. You can't taste samples and you can't squeeze the peaches but I have learned that there is no need. Can't wait to see what else they will have. They only sell perfect fruit and I have been extremely happy with everything that I have bought at Thistledown Farms.

Thistledown farm was the perfect place to take our young grandson for an outing on a rainy autumn day. The farm is charming. They have a market with produce and flowers all fairly priced and of the best quality. There is a animal petting area with goats and ponies. Our grandson really enjoyed clambering on the straw bale pile.

Extremely disappointed to see the treatment of their animals but in particular their horses. Whipping an animal consistently as it spends the entirety of its day doing labor without proper care or treatment for profit is absolutely foul behavior of any business. I would love to see this business address this matter and improve their functions centering that. Do better.

    The opened corn

I opened the top of 3 corn husks and put them in my paper bag to buy. They were the only ones I opened and it was literally just the very top. I did that to see if they had worms because in the past they have. I thought checking your corn was a thing! A woman who worked there approached me in such an angry & hostile way and confronted me about the opened corn. I don't know why she was so crass. I didn't see the sign that said "do not open the corn" but I changed my mind based on how she was speaking to me and put them back only to have her shove the corn in my direction saying "You Have to Buy That Opened Corn!!! I've never been told I HAVE TO buy anything it was so weird and I actually felt bullied into buying it. Maybe don't verbally abuse customers while they are shopping? Probably the strangest shopping interaction I've ever had with an employee, does something bad happen to all the open corns that I don't know about

We picked the perfect Sunday to visit Thistledown Farms. You pay $5/person in the market area to ride an either horse-driven or tractor pulled carriage out to the pumpkin fields, which are your only choices if you want to pick your own pumpkins. It is well-worth it because the ride is bumpy and fun, and you get to choose from white pumpkins, traditional orange ones, striped, bumpy, and even red ones! There are all sizes and if you have little kids, you may want to bring a strong shopping bag for the little sized pumpkins. We ran out of hands, so we only got one pumpkin each. They're .45 a pound and you haul them up to the market place and check-out there. Besides this, the best part was the goat petting area. My daughter loved hanging with the baby and mama goats, and they were all friendly and gentle. There's also a hay maze with tunnels for kids to play in, as well as chickens, bunnies and Shetland ponies. All the animals seemed well-cared for. The marketplace in front has amazing fruit and vegetables you can purchase at low prices: every squash imaginable, apples, peaches, berries, green beans, zucchini, brocolli, corn, cauliflower...you get the picture! There's also honey, salsa and grass-fed beef, among tons of other treats. Oh, and in the back grocery area, there are homemade apple and berry pies. 'Need I say more?! It is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon with your family. Easy parking in front and sweet people who run the place.

We love having weekend outings to Thistledown Farm to pick up fresh seasonal produce and plants for our garden. They have so many veggie starts, flowers and other unique plants to choose from. I wish their produce was organic but otherwise it's always really fresh and delicious. They have a little area where they sell pies, frozen meat and some other goodies like jellies and queso sauce. Parking is never a problem here either.

The variety they planted is Albion, they are huge, pithy inside and despite the farm staff saying they are sweet it is not accurate. They are not juicy or sweet and do not fully ripen on the inside. We pick strawberries for eating fresh and freezing for winter use on cereals. We do not use them for jam, desserts or other dishes where sweetener is added. They may work really well for those purposes. The farm is located in a lovely setting and grows a variety of produce, also available at their stand at the Lane Co Farmers Mkt in Eugene. We can't speak for the other produce. the 3-star score is only for the strawberries. We are veteran u-pick folks in the Eugene area. In our long years of experience this strawberry is underwhelming even if it is organic. Other local farms may not be certified organic, you can always ask the farmer about their practices. We have learned that some use IPM and use organic fertilizer or herbicides very sparingly. The varieties are smaller and much tastier.

This is more than a processing/butcher shop, you can shop here for various cuts of meat, seasonings and even just pick up a hot lunch with beef, macaroni salad and potato salad. The staff are very friendly and communicative. I started asking about how they process and smoke their beef because I'm a home smoker as well and I'm always open to new ways of seasoning and smoking cuts of meat. Next thing you know, one of the proprietors is leading me to the back where there is this monster sized double door smoker. The doors pop open and there were at least 8 huge briskets in large pans, some covered, some not. They were in various stages of smoking and were covered with a seasoning blend that he created. He was in the process of pulling this meat for hot lunches. The steam and aroma were definitely intoxicating. He cut off a small piece for me to taste and it just melted in my mouth. .....not what I was expecting from a meat processor! Well that sealed the deal for me and I ended up coming home with a nice sized brisket, a jar of seasoning mix and some skirt steak. ....I only came in to make a payment towards some processing that a friend had done. They also have a selection of various sausages, hotdogs, steaks, roasts, pork and even chicken. The huge slab of maple bacon was pretty tempting. Overall, we found the pricing very competitive and some better than the supermarkets, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that the meat is local and where it came from, and that the ground beef is from one cow, not a blend of a hundred cows. The guy who helped us was friendly and helpful. He seemed like he could be new and he was asking questions from an older guy who was happy to help. They cut the tenderloin for us and gave us the trimmings upon request. I overheard another employee helping a customer figure out how much meat to get. He was feeding a big family with teenagers and the employee was asking a bunch of questions to make sure she gave the best recommendation possible. That interaction made me feel like I made the right choice in butcher. The meat we got was very high quality. It was fresh and tender and the dinner I made with it was amazing! It was very expensive but it was absolutely worth the price. This is a treat that I would get once a year and no more. The shop itself was about what you'd expect in a butcher shop. The employee area was a good size and the customer area was small and narrow. It smelled surprisingly good and I left wishing I had gotten some of the smoked meats I was smelling. The parking lot is small but easy to get in and out of. There isn't a public bathroom (that I could tell) but you'll only be there for a few minutes so you should be fine. I would definitely come back here the next time I need some high quality meat. The people are friendly and knowledgeable and the selection is expansive. Definitely give these folks a try!

I would put the local Lane County Saturday Farmers Market against any of them for local in-season fruit, produce, eggs, meats, and baked goods and many other local products. It runs 11 months of the year. I can be found there at opening every Saturday unless we are out of town. Everything sold fresh is local and in season. Prepared food is made from local ingredients, mostly organic. On any given Saturday there are four or six bakeries with very fresh baked goods available with some of the best bread, croissants equal to Paris bakeries, many, many sweet and savory pastries. Many rural farm stands are represented with their complete in-season produce, fruit and vegetables. There are always three or four booths selling foraged mushrooms in season with a great variety of cultivated ones as well. Several vendors raise and sell the best eggs I have ever eaten. If you beat me there, you might get some double yoked ones, but they sell out fast. Meat for the freezer, fresh fish and canned fish, several hot food venders and if you can manage tastes in the morning several local pot distilleries are showing up these days. Everyone is pleasant and helpful and the culture is one of cooperation and helping other venders and customers so that all are successful. Come and check it out. The new pavement makes it easy to move around, stay dry. There are tables for you to eat your hot food. Don't forget to take some flowers home for the vase from the four or five vendors who are there regularly. The large open building houses about a third of the vendors with large open doors, the rest bring their own tents and the outdoor arrangement is easy to change for the day. You come too, but save a little bit for me!
