The high reviews on yelp gave me a lot of hope for this place, but my experience doesn't jibe with what others are saying. Yes, the online ordering process is smooth, there are a lot of options, and the service is prompt. But none of that makes up for the fact that all my laundry came back smelling strongly of detergent, to the point of making me mildly nauseous (and I had selected the additive-free hypoallergenic detergent -- I can only imagine how bad it would be if I had selected a scented detergent). I signed up because of the Yelp Reviews. First, they said they cant do same day service, and wanted to pick up friday and deliver Monday. (No Saturday hours?) Then, I asked if they could pick up that night, they said that they could, and then deliver the next day. After their hour time frame was over, I sent an e-mail, then they said that the driver could not find a parking space so they left. Like others, I signed up because of the good reviews. I live in a pretty central area of Park Slope, so I figured that I wouldn't have a problem. Then I got an email that they wouldn't do my laundry. Why? Because of "difficult parking" in the area. Honestly, there's always a place to squeeze in a laundry van for the whole 30 seconds it would take to carry my laundry outside. I've used them probably once every two months for the past year or so. CONS Half of the time they come late (or not at all). Granted they email to let me know, but it's annoying when you've made plans to be home and it's all for naught. Also sometimes they say they can't find a parking spot so I have to bring my laundry down a 4th floor walkup. And the point of having a pick-up/delivery service is you don't have to lug it, right? :) Maybe just have two-hour windows (instead of one hour) to give yourself more time? The email communication and website feel sort of shady in a way I can't put my finger on, but I've obviously forked over my credit card # on their form. PROS Nothing bad has happened to my clothes, and it isn't overly expensive. They are pretty quick to respond to emails. COMPETITION I've felt much more confident and happy using The Wash Depot, but I'm pretty sure they're more expensive, and their drop-off times are really huge windows I can't always do (4 hours). read more

Love, love, love. They do all the work! I literally call them and they do everything possible to accomodate my crazy schedule- oftentimes giving me a really tight window. A friend told me about these guys, so I thought I'd give them a try. The good news? They do pretty good laundry. They let you choose detergent. Everything is nicely folded. The bad...the craziness around choosing 3 different pick up and 3 different drop off times just to have them choose other times for you then show up late or not at all (which has happened both times I've used them!). Ignore the weird website and the automatic confirmation emails. I have had weekly routine pickups (had to schedule each time initially, then they offered repeats) for the past year. They have always shown up within the scheduled hour (the maximum 5 minutes late with a snow storm maybe), always come up to meet me at my apartment door (or called, again if it was snowing and they couldn't park). I don't have any fancy requests with my laundry, but it always comes back clean, dry, folded perfectly with no overpowering detergent fragrance. PRO: Can schedule same day if necessary. Can pay with credit card (including tip). Frequently emails a $5 off coupon for same day service at the end of the week. Sent advance notice that they would be on holiday for 2 weeks. CON: Wish the website allowed me to schedule Monday P/U, Tuesday D/O OR Monday P/U, Wednesday D/O but it requires you to do seperate days (M P/U, T D/O OR T P/U, W D/O). More expensive than a laundrymat, but I do zero of the work. read more

When we moved to Brooklyn Heights we found out that the "local" (8 blocks away) do it yourself laundromat had burned down and would not reopen for 3 months... Being new to NYC we didn't really know about Wash and Fold services, but googled laundry services and found laundry.bz There are certain neighborhoods that they only deliver to certain times of day. For example in Bklyn Heights they only came in the evening hours. That was okay by me since it fit my schedule. Then we moved to Park Slope and found out that since they are closer they will do pick up and delivery both in the AM and the PM! This is nice since it gives more flexibility. There is only one driver (that I can tell anyway) He does both the neighborhoods we've lived in and AM and PM at least... I know some people don't care for the fact that they don't go to their neighborhood.... but it does say which ones they deliver to on their site... actually... I have to admit, we tried to find an apartment where they would deliver to we liked them so much! I love their occasional deals for $5 off and they are really good about being on time or at least notifying you if the driver is running late. If they can't make your delivery times or days they will send you alternatives to work around. Sure, if you're schedule is that tight, go to the laundromat.... but I like their hours since I don't get home until 9pm some nights (I most often get 10-11pm pickup) and wouldn't make it to the laundromat. One time they told me they could only come between 9 and 10 pm.... I emailed them back and said that it should be okay I usually am home by 9. I got home at 9:10 that night and they had already stopped by.... but the driver swung by later on in his deliveries. That was sweet! Maybe it's my neighborhood, maybe it's because we've been using them for awhile, I don't know.... but they have always been good to us and to be honest..... I can't imagine doing my own laundry again! :) read more

I just used this place for the first time. I haven't examined every single piece of clothing, but so far it seems like they followed my instructions carefully on which pieces could not go into the dryer, or be washed in warm water, which was my biggest worry with having somebody else do my laundry. My sheets feel super soft, too. Not sure if it's an ongoing thing, but I got 25% off first time service, which was a nice bonus. read more

I love these guys! They are unbelievably reliable. I've been using them for nearly a year w.out a single problem and stellar service.

The good news is that online ordering is convenient, they almost always fold everything nicely, and make some effort to sort out one person's clothes from another's, the detergent selection is great (they could stand to have another softener options or two), and the service is generally fast. We have, however, had them outright miss a delivery. Also, twice now they've claimed our buzzer isn't working, but when we've tested it, it's been completely fine; we never have issues with other deliveries, in fact, usually do not have problems when they pick up or drop off our laundry, and, furthermore, we have a buzzer that is absolutely, ear-shatteringly unmistakable when buzzed. They will call to let you know they're there, but I generally keep my phone ringer off, so that doesn't work so well for us, personally. If you're the kind of person who leaves their ringer on, you should be aces on that count. They have shrunk a few things, and lost a few items over the months we've been using them, and we occasionally end up with other people's items as well. We're actually down to almost no matched socks for our youngest kid, but for larger items, it hasn't been too much of a problem. A couple of shirts, a belt. They did give us a small credit and, after many days of email exchanges, an apology the first time we noticed a mixup, but it really wasn't worth the time and hassle to bother with a complaint again. Relatedly, customer service is kind of unpleasant to deal with, and that's my least favorite part about this business. They will argue with you that your items aren't lost, that it shouldn't be possible with their particular system, despite your conviction that it is indeed possible, as you're standing there, unmistakably holding another person's clothes in your hands. In my experience, they will make no effort to track down your missing items. They will say that they rang your buzzer, even though you know that it is impossible that they rang the buzzer because the sound of the buzzer is so jarring that it makes your heart momentarily stop, even all the way on the other end of the apartment, and you will question the very nature of being. After logging many bygone years in service and retail, I'm no proponent of "the customer is always right" philosophy, but I do think that it's important not to flat out deny a problem when a patron tries to bring it to your attention. I must say that the driver who does our pickups and drop offs is a very nice guy, so be sure to tip your delivery people! (Any and all of them, from any place that delivers things to you!) I really want to give Laundry.bz more stars, because the convenience is a pretty big deal for me, but I just can't get down with the ontological debates about our door buzzer at 8:30 in the morning. read more

I have used them just about weekly since moving to the neighborhood last fall. They are really an excellent service. I've never had an issue with pickup, drop off, misplaced or ruined items. And I have sent everything their way at some point or another. They are always very pleasant. In fact, they've helped me out a couple of times when at the last minute I had to work late and wasn't going to be home during my drop-off window. If you are overworked and tired, (like most New Yorkers), and do not feel up to doing clothes and towels. Laundry Bz is a major helper. Booking for pick up and return delivery on their website is so easy. You are able to have 2 choices for pick up and return dare. You get to pick your laundry detergent, softener and bleach. The pick up service and return service is always on time. Friendly staff. I am disabled, Laundry Biz has made my life so easier and less stressful with my visit to a batter or other doctors The folding of matching clothes is stunning. Just unpack and pit away. Park Slope should be very happy and satisfy with the washing and folding. I am also impressed . The best, when I am flying home a a week trip, I surrender the whole suite case of beach wear and casual clothes, to a Laundry Bz, This sames me time catching up on e-mails and pay bills and throwing out Junk Mail. Their pickup and dropoff were prompt, but after wearing the clothes they had washed I developed a serious outbreak of hives across all parts of my body that had been in contact with the clothes they'd washed. When I called to tell them this and ask if they would rewash the clothes using a different detergent, they aggressively denied any responsibility and refused to rewash the clothes unless I paid full price to have everything redone. I was disappointed by their behavior and will not be using this business again, nor would I recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin. read more

Wow. It's pretty awesome to live in an area that has a service like this. I randomly came across this place while searching for a cleaning service for my apartment in Park Slope. Their website is bare bones, but don't let it fool you. They are on point. Signed up at 4pm yesterday, had an account and a pick up time for this morning and it's 8:45pm the same day and I have my stuff all beautifully folded and ready to go into my bureau. Seriously, they folded my underwear into perfect little squares. Totally recommending. And the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I never believe anyone who gives anything 5 stars. read more

This laundry service is hugely inconvenient. I had to email back and forth with them 5 times just to find a convenient pick up time. Then, they gave their driver the wrong address for pickup. I sat on my stoop waiting for almost 30 minutes making me nearly late for work. When I emailed to complain, I never even received a response. High unprofessional. Would not recommend. read more

I absolutely love Laundry.bz. Sure, there's no number to call -- but who uses phones to call people anymore anyway? They respond within minutes, always come when they say they will and my laundry is always nicely folded, lovely smelling (you can request specific scents -- or none at all) and they really are quite affordable. Never any missing clothes or shrunken clothes -- but if you're worried, you can request a cold wash with low heat drying. For a full set of towels, sheets and 2 weeks worth of clothes, its $18. The same amount I paid when I lived elsewhere and dropped it off. Sure, I tip the delivery guy a few bucks but honestly, to not have to lug around my laundry, clean or dirty, its worth it. And I can pay online, so having it delivered at 6AM isn't a problem, payment is already done and I can roll back into bed before work. I have never had an issue with "no parking" or having to do anything other than buzz the guy in and I've been using them regularly for almost 7 months. read more
