I just moved to the area and wasn't sure which nail place to go to. I tried Kathy's nails on 27th and southern first and they destroyed my nails. I asked them for SNS and they put the powder they used for acrylics and a gel polish on top. I came to this nail salon to get a fill on my "sns" and was informed what they did. Henry took great care of my nails! He took the gel and acrylic powder off without damaging my nails and made them feel amazing again! He used SNS and left them beautiful. He gave me a complimentary manicure, to help my nails and even though he had nothing to do with the other place- he apologized on their behalf and I will definitely be coming back here!! I have been coming to this location for 11 years throughout different management and Bill the owner is by far the worst person ever! Very racist and rude! He gets made when you don't request a full service such as a polish change or just gel polish and no full set. He will tell you that you can't be serviced and just to go somewhere else! I went here for a pedicure today after work and when I called in I spoke to Bill. It was less than $50 for gel and the older woman was kind and welcoming. I'll definitely come back to see her again. It took about 45 min for the pedicure. The ambiance was nice and calm which was great for me because I came here to relax. What you definitely have is somebody who has mastered the art of putting nails on that fit the finger. Bill did such a wonderful job of making sure that my nails were the appropriate size for my fingers? I cannot say how many times I've had my nails done in the past and had people make them look a little bit like spoons. It is a true art form to be able to do nails at this level and that such perfection he's coupled by his amazing wife who is a perfectionist with her polish.. and in addition to that, she has mastered the art of the most perfect hand massage when your nails are finished. Had she said that but after the third time telling her she started to get aggressively with my sisters hands grabbing them because of the frustration. End up having to have a owner just paint the Nails one full color I am myself went to get a pedicure which I was not happy with the whole process was fully rushed. We stayed two hours. I came here despite the reviews and I'm so glad that I did! I'm not sure if they changed owners or maybe just improved but I came here as a walk-in for a gel pedicure. They were able to get started right away without a wait (I'd already sat at Herbal Nails for 45 minutes without even being notified how long the wait would be so I left!). The salon isn't updated like the others but it's very clean and the staff were all friendly. The chairs provided a great massage and the best part was that the pedicure I chose came with a neck massage!! Lilly took her time and did a great job on my pedicure. I walked in before two women and was told Od only have to wait a few minutes. One of the ladies behind me had an appointment and the other did not. I was told I'd be next and they serviced the other customer before me. I then asked how long would I have to wait now ...this is after sitting at least 15-20 minutes. I was not impressed. I stopped in when I was in the area and desperately needed a pedicure. I wanted to get my acrylics soaked off and have gel put on, but surprisingly the guy who I assume is the manager talked me out of it, saying it would take too long and to just get a fill. So, I got my pedicure which took almost 2 hours. I chose deluxe and it was okay, but the lady was extremely slow and she kept nipping my skin and it hurt. My toenails were cut unevenly and I had to fix myself when I got home. My fill was quick, but the lady kept catching my skin with the drill. I get that it happens, but she was just rushing, there was really no excuse and it was not even busy. She didn't clean up my cuticles nor did she shape my nails. the paint was sloppy leaving dried hell and topcoat on each finger. I paid $60 for a basic pedi and a raggedy fill in. I was there before the workers arrived at 9 am. I paid $110 for a full set with design and a basic pedicure. There was no wait. The lady (Thuy) at the first station rudely asked "what design do you want?" She saw that I was upset when I told her never mind. Then she softened her tone a bit. Then a man started my pedicure around 10. It was a basic pedicure. He was very slow. He began to polish my toes without completely removing the old polish. Ms. Rude had to explain to him that the old polish had to be removed. He finally finished at 11:57 AM. Three hours. After paying, I asked where is the trash can so I could throw away my empty coffee cup. Ms. Rude grabbed the cup out of my hand. That was it. The final straw. I had to tell her that there is no need to be rude. I did it in a quiet manner, being sure that we did not grab the attention of the other customers. Hi will not be going back. If it isn't enough that the nails break easily, you will not be rude to me and collect my money at the same time. First time visit to You Need Nails & Facials. My best friend took me as a birthday treat. We made an appointment which was quick and easy. They seated us next to each other for our pedicures. The massage chairs feel amazing, but be warned! They are on a timer for a reason. We both ran our chairs about 4 times...and two days later our backs still hurt! Not the salons fault, just a warning. This is your typical salon where the women whisper to each other and give a side eye when judging your crusty feet. They upsell you on a deluxe pedicure very quickly. Then push gel like crazy. So if you are just looking to be cleaned up, you really aren't a priority. During our mani pedi both our technicians would disappear mid service with no explanation for extended periods of time. We figured out they were sneaking in back to eat their lunches, mid service. I get it, they need to eat, but pretty sure AZ has labor laws to give people dedicated time to eat without interruption. Give these women real breaks so they don't stop service midway! read more

The guy that was going to do my nails had just come in from lunch I'm guessing and he kept telling me to leave my acrylic nails on but I told him no multiple times. He cut me a few minutes from starting I stayed quiet & the whole time he kept putting blue liquid on it to stop the bleeding at first I wasn't mad because i know accidents happen but he didn't even say sorry!! If I based this place off the one old lady who is super grumpy and never does what you ask I would never come back. She's rude and doesn't let you keep your massage chair on when she does your nails. I asked for hot water for my pedi and she said no. I wish I could post a picture of her because the other lady is amazing. They never have what you ask for. I can always count on getting a great mani/pedi here. The techs are friendly, which is a plus. The facility is clean and there are so many gel Polish options. One drawback, I notice they don't soak the gel Polish off but they drill it off. My nails are extremely strong and I didn't like the fact I didn't have a choice to request soaking vs "drilling" off the top layer of Polish off. I work near by and have tried all of the other salons in the area. This is BY FAR the best. Visually the space is appealing and calming. No gaudy paint colors. The equipment (pedicure chairs and nail stations) appear new(er). The service is great! I was greeted right away and my service was started as soon as I was in the pedicure chair. The place was semi busy. My tech gave me the BEST pedicure I have ever had! He spent a great deal of time massaging my legs with the sea salt scrub, with the lotion, and with hot stones. His technique was professional and I could tell he knew exactly how to perform an ideal pedicure. It took just under an hour and the nail polish job was excellent. The price was extremely reasonable given all the "extras" such as sea salt scrub, warm towel, and hot stone massage. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back. read more
