If you're even thinking about trying Yori House, stop thinking and just go. The bao buns alone are worth the trip -- unbelievably soft and fluffy, with that perfect pillowy texture you hope for but rarely get. The pork bao in particular had this beautiful char that added just the right smoky depth without overpowering the sweetness. Absolute standout. The ramen was exceptional. Rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. My tonkatsu was beautifully caramelized -- that golden crust giving way to tender, juicy pork -- while my girlfriend's chicken katsu was crispy, perfectly cooked, and somehow still light. No sogginess, no shortcuts -- just done right. The atmosphere strikes that sweet spot between cozy and modern, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive without hovering. One of my favorite touches? The large visual menu on the wall. For anyone who isn't super familiar with this style of cuisine, it makes ordering approachable and stress-free. Such a smart move. Yori House nails flavor, texture, presentation, and hospitality. Can't recommend it strongly enough -- we'll absolutely be back. read more

A great little place found through recommendations from my fellow yelpers. This place is off the beaten path but well worth the trip. The menu is very interesting with everything Korean, Japanese and Thai inspired from fried rice to tacos to noodle dishes. Service was very good and though the restaurant is small, it is well appointed. We ordered edamame and a pork bun for appetizers. The edamame were served lightly salted and warm and the pork bun wonderful and flavorful. I highly recommend. For a main dish, I ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. The only complaint I have is that the dish was pretty salty. The shrimp were delicious and the portions for everything were generous. We ordered spicy fried rice to take home and I'm so glad we did. Sorry but no photo of the pork bun as we dove into it as soon as we got it. read more

From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is clean and well decorated with incredibly friendly service! The food was quick and exceptional. A friend and I had an appetizer, two entrees with water for under $40 plus we both took leftovers home. I will definitely be back, I loved the option to make my chicken friend rice spicy. The shabby exterior belies the pleasant and bright interior with generous seating. Annoyingly, every surface in the dining area seems sticky, floors to tables to walls. The menu is eclectic to say the least - Mexican, Chinese, Korean, Spanish all melded together in unexpected and sometimes weird ways. We ordered mandu and spicy pork tacos. The food was tasty, if flawed. The tacos were watery and I find the mayonnaise unwelcome, the mandu seemed frozen to fried and dried out on the edges. The spicy Korean style pork was good. read more

They over charged for advertised specials, and then told us that there was nothing they could do to adjust what we had paid because of their software. The General Tao's chicken was the worst we have ever had. Went in a group of 5, and ordered a whole bunch of items. The good thing is there are quite a few veggie options. The pick of the lot were pancake and japche. The angry gnocchi somehow didn't hit for me, the gochujang flavor was a bit too strong for me. Thai curry flavor was good but that may have been the most watery curry I've ever eaten. Solid spot offering dishes from a wide array of cuisines including Korean and also Mexican and Spanish options. I started out by ordering the Shrimp Pancake ($13), which was pretty thick, soft, and tasty. I also ordered the Seafood Paella ($13), which was just normal rice in some light sauce (sauce could have been thicker/creamier) with some shrimp and mussels. It was definitely not as good as other paellas that I've had, but was only $13 so it was fine. I got the Ho-Dduk (Korean pancake with red bean filling) for dessert, which was tasty and a pretty large size for only $3. The restaurant is generally good value all around. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The service speed was pretty quick. The interior was clean with ample seating available. Overall, if you are looking for a place that can satisfy your cravings for various different types of cuisines with good value in Cortland, Yori House would be a very good option for you. read more

Quite happy indeed. We were in the area recently and were pleasantly surprised to find this gem. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and there's street parking only, but it's worth the trek for anyone wondering. It's truly Korean inspired food and had some tastes I only got from big city food trucks in the past. And I'm not talking about those greasy food trucks. I'm talking about the ones that have a 30 min wait just to order because the line's so long. Was the food perfect? No. There's always room for improvement, such as less salt (or salted sauce) in the soups. However, I don't think I could ask for better short of driving to Philly or NYC. The service was great and the overall feeling of the restaurant only added to the food. Our whole family enjoyed it! read more

I had a tremendous bimbimbap here. The mushrooms were amazing, along with all of the other traditional ingredients of course, but those mushrooms!! I am just passing through the area, but I'm seriously considering changing my plans for tomorrow so that I can try another dish for lunch. It was that good. Place looked intriguing so we placed an order for takeout. They were out of the one dish we really wanted to try, the angry gnocchi, but we ordered a few other dishes. My favorite dish was the jap cnae because it tasted authentic but the meat was a little tough. My least favorite dish was the kimchi pasta, it was just a very strange combination that I didn't really understand. Maybe a little too different for my taste? We also ordered the mandoo, Jjam bong, and kimchi and pork fried rice. The mandoo wasn't anything special but was good enough. The kimchi and pork fried rice could've used a little bit more spicy flavor. Overall glad we tried it but will only go back if the angry gnocchi is not sold out to try it. read more

Food, well, this is no gourmet spot. Mayonnaise side with the fried rice? Maybe it's a tradition somewhere, but that was a first. We showed up 30 mins before closing, but found out they reserve the final hour for take-out only, so the boxed dinner left a lot to be desired, no doubt, too. Nice surprise finding this family owned restaurant in Cortland NY. Nice mix of authentic Korean and fusion inspired dishes that every small town in upstate NY could benefit from. The Angry Gnocchi has a mild much reminiscent of Korean ddukboki; The jjampong is flavorful and kicks it up a notch; The Salmon was generous and not fishy; And the dessert cakes hodduk was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. read more

My wife found this place, and I was kinda of skeptical coming here because of how the outside looked. We decided to go inside and stay to eat. The prices were really good and the service was great. My only complaint was I thought the ramen was too salty. Overall, the restaurant looked nice inside, and the food tasted good. read more

Checked this place out today and man it did not disappoint! Got the 2 for $10 Taco Tuesday deal. One Bulgogi taco and one spicy pork taco. One taco was a full meal so I got dinner out of it too. This place is a gem - the flavors are wonderful and the prices are LOW for what you get. Service was very polite and efficient. We came as a party of 5 and several parties came in after us, including a party of 8 who were taken to an upstairs dining area which we never saw. We all left this place happy! Appetizer dumplings and Bulgogi nachos were terrific. My pan fried noodles with spicy pork were perfect for me - I recommend them without hesitation. My son had the Jjamppong noodle soup - that was a flavor explosion unlike almost anything I've ever tried. My daughter had the Pho. Pho has never looked appealing to me because of the lack of color, but the flavor of that broth was delicious. It surprised me. My daughter said the beef in the Pho was a bit bland, but I didn't try it so I can't confirm. My only regret is that we don't live around here and can't visit regularly. read more

Yori House is a great value restaurant for Asian-inspired dishes in Cortland! As an appetizer, I shared the Shrimp Pancake which was well cooked with a good amount of shrimp and we also got complimentary little sides of salad. For my entree, I got the Bibimbap which was beautifully plated in a small cast iron skillet with very colorful veggies. However, it wasn't the best combination of toppings (the lettuce and greens didn't go so well) and the bulgogi could have used some more flavor here. Finally, for dessert, I got the hotteok (red bean pancake) which was pretty good and generously sized for the price of $3. Overall, Yori house may not be the most authentic Asian restaurant but I was generally impressed by the presentation of the dishes, the flavors, and the portion sizes. read more

Aight, so this is actually the perfect Korean food for Cortland. Cortland isn't a place I'd ever think would have authentic Korean food and TBH, I don't think one would survive. It's very much a fusion place and it doesn't try to be anything else and I think it's great. The bulgogi was solid though serving with a very "American Chinese" style of fried rice was an odd choice. The mandu was great as well and I have no critiques. Would go back! read more

Short version: Delicious; you must go. Longer version: I grew up in Cortland but live away now. When I heard that Yori House opened up, I couldn't wait to try it when I visited home again. I waited until my second visit to leave a review. I've tried the seafood paella, kimchi fried rice (my #1 fave), spicy chicken bowl, spicy chicken tacos, veggie pancake, and edamame. Everything is delicious and well made. Orders come out fast, and the service is very friendly. I'm so happy Cortland has this yummy eatery and I highly recommend checking them out! read more

This is an unexpected place in Cortland. The menu is eccentric with Korean, Mexican, and American all fused together. I loved the use of fresh ingredients and the meal felt generally healthy. We started with the veggie pancake which was full of flavor but a tad greasy for me. We then shared mushroom bao buns which were excellent and a chicken rice bowl. This was all good but would have been elevated with the addition of a quick pickle versus just fresh shredded veggies. I honestly think this is a solid spot in Cortland as anything more authentic might not suit the local palate. read more
