Beef taco with side of Mole Sauce
    James B.

I stopped off here this past weekend, i got beef tacos with a side of mole sauce. Nachos: Definitely homemade and good, Tacos: very tender and juicy meat with good flavoring. Mole Sauce: REALLY good, definitely the MVP. Good cocoa flavor with a slight spice. Overall: if in the area, will go to again.

My beef and chicken chimichangas were delicious as was the horchata. Great service! It was a nice quiet dinner.

    The cozy dining room.

Came in for the first time during alumni reunion weekend. This place was not here when I was at school. The place is one year old, according to the bartender. Service was prompt and simpatico and I was greeted with a smile and a how are you as soon as I walked in. It is 630pm on a Thursday. Chips and two types of salsa were brought out. The chips were corn and the salsas were tasty. Think one was spicier that the other but they were pretty close. I also got a side of guacamole which was extremely creamy and tasty. I ordered a double Casamigos reposado neat and the Flautas to start. The place is cozy but has a nice ambiance. There is a bar as soon as you enter to the right and a couple of high tops and two large tables in the center of the dining area with 7 small booths on the edges. It seems small but every table was taken I sat at the bar, where all 8 stools were taken. Prospective diners arrived continuously and were standing in the doorway and small bar area. Always a good sign. Nota bene: the place does not take reservations. My Flautas were very good. Crispy and filled with chicken and spices. Served with rice and a creamy white sauce. It was plenty for a meal. It is a nice place with some good Mexican food. They should consider putting a bit of fish on the menu the only seafood on offer are shrimp. Anyway a nice Mexican meal. I would return when in town. Mark.

    Jalapeño margarita

We arrived at prime dinner time on a Tuesday. We were happy to have seats available at the bar. We shared a jalapeño margarita with Tajin on the rim. Although it was a premix from a jug, it was still tasty. First order of chips and salsa is free. The street corn was delicious. The flan is made in house and was on point. Our bartender/ server was friendly, fast and knowledgeable about the menu and details of each item. If you're looking for Mexican food in Cortland, this is the place to go!

Spent Cinco de Mayo here! Food was amazing, margaritas were excellent, and the bartenders are so sweet. Drinks were strong and tasty and we were quite content hanging out at the bar.

Cortland, NY. This is seriously an amazing authentic style Mexican restaurant. I am from SoCal and our Mexican food is great. So this place would legit rival and hold its own out there. Very affordable prices too. I was unsure what I'd get with my employee for Mexican food in this area but man am I glad I came in. I only with it wasn't a work lunch cause I could have easily drank like 5 margs. Next time! Al pastor tacos were great, actual legit Al pastor, on a spit, could taste the home made with Aleppo. Awesome salsas and sauces. Tastes hand made. Our server was way nice too. Well done Los Lagos.

    Margaritas. Very good

Based on the great reviews we checked out Los lagos in Cortland. I ordered the steak poblano, which is a ribeye and a Chile relleno, my favorite. The relleno was excellent but the steak was horrible I'm sorry to say. It was tough and most of it was inedible. My husbands carne asada was slightly better. The margaritas was very good and so were the beans, a very good sign. I'd go back and stick with the relleno.

    Mango margaritas! Small vs Large

We were not anticipating the large margarita to be that large! They started us off with free chips and salsa, with two different flavors. I loved the mild, my husband liked the spicy. I got chicken taquitos which were good. My husband liked his burrito quite a bit. My only complaint is how cold it was. The dining area was chilly, but the bathroom was freezing! We'll wait to come back in the summer when it's warmer out.

The pork bao in particular had this beautiful char that added just the right smoky depth without overpowering the sweetness. Absolute standout. The ramen was exceptional. Rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. My tonkatsu was beautifully caramelized -- that golden crust giving way to tender, juicy pork -- while my girlfriend's chicken katsu was crispy, perfectly cooked, and somehow still light. No sogginess, no shortcuts -- just done right. The atmosphere strikes that sweet spot between cozy and modern, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive without hovering. One of my favorite touches? The large visual menu on the wall. For anyone who isn't super familiar with this style of cuisine, it makes ordering approachable and stress-free. Such a smart move. Yori House nails flavor, texture, presentation, and hospitality. Can't recommend it strongly enough -- we'll absolutely be back.

The menu is very interesting with everything Korean, Japanese and Thai inspired from fried rice to tacos to noodle dishes. Service was very good and though the restaurant is small, it is well appointed. We ordered edamame and a pork bun for appetizers. The edamame were served lightly salted and warm and the pork bun wonderful and flavorful. I highly recommend. For a main dish, I ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. The only complaint I have is that the dish was pretty salty. The shrimp were delicious and the portions for everything were generous. We ordered spicy fried rice to take home and I'm so glad we did. Sorry but no photo of the pork bun as we dove into it as soon as we got it.

Every time I lament the fact I spent money to eat there... I had read that this was a good one on the 'Where Syracuse Eats' Facebook page, which can be a pit of snakes at times. I decided to bookmark it, as a 'just in case' I was ever passing through Waterloo. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when my mom and I walked in around 5:30-5:45 p.m. and not a soul was in the place. Apparently, people in Waterloo eat dinner around 6 p.m. so the place was popping as we were eating and then leaving. My mom is a vegetarian so we shared the vegetarian combo D plate. I ate the tostaguac and she had the enchilada, and we shared the rice. I normally find the rice at Mexican restaurants to be underwhelming, even at my favorite spot in Detroit. This was delicious and I ate it! (There may have been some debate on who should get the last few bites of rice!) I also ordered a side of their hot salsa. I think this was $2 but it was so good and so worth it. The regular salsa was fine but not spicy at all. Service was fast once we decided what to order. No pictures because I was too excited by an actual Mexican place within a reasonable distance from me! Skip the places in Syracuse and come to La Fiesta Brava!
